Gun Center

I came here to purchase a present for my boyfriend. I had an idea of what he wanted but knew little about that options available. Not only did the guy show me all my options, he wrote them all down for me. When I came back he let me make payments on my selection.
I had a good experience here but I can understand why others might be peeved. The older gentleman only helps one person at a time. I had to wait my turn but I saw some people just leave when they weren’t acknowledged. He’s very knowledgable in his products but lacks customer services skills. But hey, he’s a man of a certain age.

I attempted to purchase a rifle from this business. After waiting 5 months (payjng for the rifle in full) I went to the store only to be insulted and degraded by one of the clerks the owner himself. The clerk actually gave me the middle finger when I requested a full refund and the owner threatened to call the police if I didn’t wait outside while he processed my CC refund. After the refund was processes he indicated he would still receive the weapon and would give me a call to see if i was still interested. I told him to shove the rifle up his A** and left.
DO NOT SHOP AT THIS STORE!

If I was allowed to give 0 stars I would. brought my 870 in to have the dimple removed so it could accept a magazine tube extension. When I walked in I asked the man behind the counter if I could drop the gun off for the gunsmith. instead of leaving it to the gunsmith, he decided to run a large punch through the magazine tube to remove the dimples and at the same time stretching the threads. the follower would no longer stop but instead fly into the receiver. his fix was cranking down on the new extension and sending me on my way with a live round in the tube magazine. upon return to speak with the manager I was told I would be responsible for the cost of all repairs and that I should not be allowed to own a firearm.

The rating is one star due to you know who you are arrogance and mean-​spirited attitude. The store’s firearms prices seems WAY over-​priced compared to manufacturer’s suggested retail price! That is rip off! When it came down to question of trade-​ins. The owner said they did not do ANY trade-​ins at all when in fact their store website says they do. I politely reminded him of his website information. I do not appreciate the dishonesty! Then he dared to tell me to take my business elsewhere? I ended up going to another reputable gun shop. They did trade-​in with extra credit toward my new firearm purchase. Wow? Overall, the sales associates seemed limited on being allowed to make any business decisions. They appear to «parrot» the owner’s decisions or statements. The only good thing about this shop is large inventory of rifles and pistols. The Gun Center will count on my buying anything from another gun shop that appreciates my business.

Wow! I don’t know why my experience was so different than (seemingly) everyone else’s but, I think Kevin is about as knowledgeable and forthright as anyone I’ve dealt with lately. The fact that I kinda already knew what I was looking for, combined with an extensive previous firearms background, probably had something to do with it but, I got GREAT service. If you’re in the market for a firearm, you’ll find few places with a better in-​stock inventory. Yes, the prices are a little on the high side of full retail, which is the only reason I won’t give The Gun Center five stars. I definitely appreciated the guidance thru the MD HQL process, though —
isn’t the most user-​friendly site — and the satisfaction of knowing that I’m buying from people who know what the heck they’re selling. That’s worth a couple extra bucks to me. My advice to potential buyers is do your homework before walking into ANY gun shop without a clue — because I kinda get the impression that’s what may have happened with one or more of the previous reviewers who rated The Gun Center only one star. I was treated with the utmost professional courtesy and respect. That’s all I know!

I am glad so many others experienced this rude, horrid place. I was beginning to wonder if it’s me, but I guess it’s just that JERKS run gun shops! I was in there once a few weeks ago with my husband, and I was surprised how rude and unaccommodating they were, but I figured they were just busy. Today it was far less crowded, and I went to buy a $ 1500 gun. One guy ignored me — then the other said someone would be right with me — then they BOTH proceeded to help people who came in the store AFTER me.
Uncool. I’ll find someone else who wants my $ 1500.

The guy who gave 4 stars up there ^^ and who seems to think that the rest of us are ignorant about guns just lucked out! Or maybe the owner is taking his meds now!

Just don’t. The review below is accurate. Arrogant, aggressive, rude, overpriced, and do a poor job at explaining state regulations or paperwork. Essentially, you will wait ridiculous amounts of time so that you can write a check for an overpriced gun and a large side of verbal assault.

I went in this place to ask about gun safes. The owner was an arrogant ass. The other reviewers really are not exaggerating. I do not know how they stay in business. I have never been treated the way this jerk treated me in any business ever. I bought a very nice gun safe somewhere else. I would never buy anything from this place ever unless the owner fires himself. Go to Hendershots sporting goods in Hagerstown they are attentive, knowledgable and not to good to help their customers.

I went in to ask a few questions and see what the place was like. I was met with offensive arrogance and testosterone by the man who appeared to be a shot caller (owner maybe?). There was another unassuming young fellow there who seemed to be more helpful but by that time I was turned off. The prices were a little higher too which I might pay in trade for good service. Unfortunately I did not find any. I will not be going back.

This place is over priced, rude employees, take your business elsewhere. Crap place
