Went in for pointe shoes for my daughter and got top notch service! Ellie was awesome! Would rather drive to Frederick to get pointe shoes fitted by a knowledgeable staff than stay in Leesburg and go to the dance store that is more convenient. **edited to add that we’ve had 3 successful pointe shoe fittings with Ellie! She’s awesome! Even if traffic getting there was a bear, I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

I have been to so many Dancewear stores over the years, and I do have to say that Footlights is one of the best Dancewear stores in the country. The store is very clean, has an amazing selection of products. From what I have seen I would honestly say that all of the staff in the store tend to customers right away and always with a smile.
I would recommend Footlights to any dancer.
Why would someone go online to find something just a couple of dollars cheaper? Do you guys realize that by saving $ 2, you are taking money out of your community? When people buy their Dancewear online, their studios will stop getting support from the local stores as they wound have any extra cash to place an ad in your nutcracker program, your parents will not be able to run in and buy a pair of tights, you will not be able to get that perfectly fitted pointe shoe… because the store will not be there without your support.

Awful, Awful, Awful service! I have been going to footlights for years for all my dance wear and throughout those past years the service was mediocre, I’ve been looked past and down and did not say a thing. But my most recent experience will be my last! The employees are some of the rudest I have encountered, I guess if you do not have the right skin color then proper service is not guaranteed. I will gladly take my money some where else.

Went in for ballroom shoes which are relegated to a small corner– the store was empty but I still waited about 20 minutes for one of the 4 associates on the floor to help me. Two girls came in after I did to look at ballet slippers and received immediate service.
I pulled 6 different styles and they didn’t have a 10 in any of them, of the 6 styles one 9.5 was available and one 11. The offer to order an additional size was not presented to me, I WAS told that their other location mostly only carries super high heeled salsa shoes.

I love this store. It may be more expensive than some online retailers but the knowledgeable and helpful staff is worth its weight in gold. Whenever I shop here, there are enough people working that I’ve never had to wait for personal help. The employees all seem to have dance experience or at least they are well trained in fitting dance shoes and they know their products. They even have a section for boys. Definitely a great store for dancers.

Store for dance performance clothing and ballet shoes. You can purchase online for cheaper but sometimes it’s nice to try before you buy.
