I purchased a new refrigerator, new gas stove/oven, microwave and dishwasher from Dennis Schunemann. He under-promised and over-delivered. Everything was delivered on time and installed professionally. When I need a little tech support on an item, Dennis responded immediately.

Received good service here. ON a saturday my 20 yr old oven crapped out. Lowes and Home depot had to order a new one and it would have taken 3 weeks. Bray and scarf had one in warehouse so by tuesday I was back in service with a new oven. It was also a little cheaper than the list prices on the internet.

We recently purchased a new dishwasher, stove hood, and microwave from Bray & Scarff. We had started our search at one of the local hardware stores and was promptly told that we didn’t want what we were looking at. Our salesman, Jake Stone, at B&S was super helpful and knowledgeable. He listened and found exactly what I was looking forward. I work 45 minutes from home and he helped me make some of my selections via email. I would highly recommend going there for your next appliance. I know we will definitely be repeat customers.

Ordered online, had change of plans, went to store to make an exchange to avoid the 20% fee, as directed by online sales rep. Man in store lambastes me that the item has already been delivered to the store and is in the back waiting to be picked up, even after speaking with the original sales rep that confirmed I could make the change. Walked away a few times while I was talking. So I decided to pay the fee to avoid having to deal with the company any longer. They just lost a loyal customer. Called original rep that didn’t really care and wasn’t surprised, said it’s because they work on commission in the stores, so the store sales guys don’t really care. Seriously! I’m not a sales person but if you have a customer actually in the store couldn’t you up sell them while they’re there hello?

I purchased a Thermador Freedom Cooktop and a drawer hood in January of 2014, to be delivered on Feb 25. The day before delivery I was called by my salesman and told that the hood was sold out from under me, and that there were no more of that model in the US. The hood was finally delivered on March 25, 4 days before my kitchen remodeling was finished. Within 3 days the lights blew out. I called the service dept. and was told they could not come out for at least a week. I said no way he was to be there today. He did come within 2 hours and said that he had never seen this hood before, nor had he been trained on it. He looked at the Freedom Cooktop and said the same thing. He decided that he had to order all of the parts of the hood to make sure that he got the right problem. 4 weeks later I called the service dept. and they said they had all the parts but one. I waited another 2 weeks and alas the parts were in.(they never called to tell me that) About a week later the same service guy came by and change out everything controlling the hood. 30 days(approx.) later the lights went out again. Same guy came by and discovered that the wires to the lights were broken due to improper manufacturing, and he would order the parts. I waited 4 weeks to start calling and called every week thereafter only to be told that some of the parts were in and the rest would be in within 4 – 5 days. I was told the same story at least 4 times during my weekly calls. Finally I asked to speak to the supervisor(Debbie) who said she would call Bosch the maker and she would call me back that same day which she did. She said she would check with the parts dept. and call me the next day. NO call. I called tha following day and left a message that I was still waiting for her call. We are now in August. I waited for Monday and called again and amazingly my parts were in. They could not get to me until the following week to install the parts. I have had the hood for over 186 days, of which it has actually worked for 46 days. Not once did they call me about the service, not once did customer service call to explain the loss of the original hood. Its seems that once they got my $ 8000.00 they just stopped caring. I cannot recommend Bray and Scarff to anyone. They promise the world and give you the shaft. Worst service in the world. Run away as fast as you can.

This review is for the initial purchase, delivery and installation of my appliances. I’ll post a follow-up review later to cover any service issues. I was really shocked to read all the negative comments about B&S here on Unilocal.I’m guessing if I would’ve read them I probably would’ve never purchased from them. For once, I’m glad I didn’t look at Unilocal first. My experience with B&S(particularly my saleswoman Sharon and installer Tony) to date is excellent. I spent quite a bit of time researching my dishwasher and washer & dryer combo purchase. I settled on Maytag Series 2000 laundry appliances and a Bosch dishwasher. Once I knew what I was looking for, I set about calling around and searching on the internet for a retailer. My girlfriend recommended B&S. After trying to find my appliances from the big box stores and Sears I finally turned to B&S. Not only did they price match all the best prices I got from elsewhere on my Memorial Day shopping spree, Sharon went the extra mile to find the best rebate deals on the combination of appliances I’d purchased. The day before delivery I got a call that the dishwasher I wanted was no longer available. Sharon admitted it was a fault of B&S for even showing the dishwasher. Based on the late date I was being notified about this, I was on high alert for a bait and switch tactic. I was not pleased. But Sharon stayed calm(although I was clearly not happy) and found a suitable, alternative Bosch dishwasher. It was a dishwasher I had originally considered at Sears. Unfortunately the price had gone back up from the original sales day price but Sharon and B&S retroactively price matched their unit to the Sears day sales price since they had made the mistake in the first place. I call that excellent customer service!(plus, to be honest, I would’ve walked away from the sale on principle alone). The small amount they discounted netted them an almost $ 2,000 sale. On delivery day, Tony called me early and gave me a heads on arrival. He was very personable and professional. He and Carlos(Carlos could learn a lot from Tony) set up my appliances quickly and competently and were EXTREMELY careful not to damage or mar my recently installed new wood floor. They went over the basics of the appliances, tested them and removed the old appliances in just about an hour. I’ve run several loads of clothes through the washer and dryer and everything seems a-okay so far. I give a big thumbs up to B&S.
