Wedgie is the best sandwich in town. The fried pepperoni might as well be crack. The pizza is outstanding. If you’re the kind of person that likes figs and sprouts on your pizza, then don’t come here. I would give it 5 stars if they had a better dining area.

Great pizza place! We recently moved to the area and we order out at least once a week! Always fresh.

We are regulars as we eat here 1 – 2 times per week. The reason for four stars is sometimes the food is not as good as we expect it to be, but not bad enough that we stop coming. Come for the pizza but also try the cheesesteak!

Ordered their mini 10″ pizza with pepperoni. I smothered it with parmesan cheese and oregano. The flavor was very good. The sauce was tangy and zesty. The crust/dough was the best part of this pie. It was crispy on the edges and soft and chewy throughout. High quality cheese and pepperoni was used; which, compels me come back very soon. Bellisario’s pizza puts the national pizza chains(And you know who they are.) to utter shame(outright garbage pizza)! Spend your money on a local Frederick business who takes the time, pride, and effort to bake an excellent product instead of supporting the national garbage pizza chains! Capital Crave serves up a similarly good pizza if you are on that side of town; otherwise, Bellisario’s and Capital Crave serve up the best pies in Frederick! The only knock on this place is the Pittsburgh Steelers memorabilia lining the walls in Redskins Nation territory – that’s just flat out wrong :-)

I live on 8th Street and thought it was awesome there was a pizza shop within walking distance. There were mixed reviews on here about the restaurant, but my optimistic self had to go with the 4 and 5 star reviews, and try it out. Unfortunately, I am siding with those who just didn’t like Bellisarios. First of all, the joint itself was not very inviting, but I could get past that for good food. We got the pizza to go, and on taking out my first slice; I found a hair that was definitely not mine! EWWW! I decided to just eat the pizza anyway, but found it was greasy and didn’t have the fresh homemade pizza flavor I long for in mom and pop pizza shops. You can skip this place, it is really not worth it.

DONTCOMEHEREIFYOUAREON A DIET. This little joint has some of the best pizza in Frederick in my opinion. The pizza is extremely cheap and comes out covered in grease, to each their own, its ok once in a while. The pizza itself is delicious though especially if you eat there while its still piping hot.

I’ve been coming to Bellisario’s since it opened while I was in high school. The food has always been great. High quality ingredients and great prices. The wedgie sandwiches are miles above the ones offered at another chain pizza place in the area. This is a small business I’m pleased to support.

I used to go here back when the name same owner made her own pizza by hand. It was great. Now, not so much. Canned vegetables, industrial dough. Got 2 pies tonight, both bordering on inedible. The mushrooms and peppers were rubbery and overdone. Cheese pizza was undercooked and the dough was the same as a Joe Corbi pizza. A frozen pizza works be a step up. So sad. It was once great.

Best take out in Frederick! The pizza is awesome. We are from Pittsburgh and this place has local Pittsburgh italian all over it! The wedgies are also fantastic. I wish this place was open on Sunday, because they would be perfect for football game days!

Pizza is here is good, maybe the best in Frederick. I like that they have sweet peppers as a topping.

We tried Bellisario’s again last week so I wanted to be sure to update my review. I have to say, the pizza was much better this time around. It was fresh and cheesy and the thin crust was great. I can officially say this is the best pizza we have found in Frederick, by far. I was really starting to worry there for awhile. Also, be warned, those hot peppers are no joke. Oh and I noticed they have a very reasonable lunch specials during the week so we’ll be checking that out soon.

I’m a northern jersey girl born and raised and was dragged to the land of mediocre food(aka MD) by my husband. I’ve lived here for 5 years and haven’t been able to find a good slice of pizza here until yesterday when we tried bellisario’s for the first time. Although this place seems to have originated in PA, I must say it was as close to being«home» as possible. The exterior didn’t look like much(which in nj, the best places to eat typically don’t look like much on the outside or are attached to a gas station) so don’t let that deter you. The price was great– $ 22 for two large cheese pizzas. The crust was PERFECT– crunchy, held it’s form and was not even close to being soggy(nothing worse than soggy pizza). The only downfall was that they don’t have any salads on the menu. Would have loved to have had a nice antipasto or house salad to go with it. maybe if they’re reading this they’ll think of adding that to their menu!

Friday night 6:30. It is pretty quiet in here. Pizza is not popular in Frederick. This is, no doubt, as reviews suggest, the best pizza in Frederick. If you are a tourist from New York or New Haven, prepare to be disappointed. Ordered two. Red pizza(pepperoni, mushroom) White Pizza(Sausage, Peppers). Canned mushrooms are never okay on any pizza. Pepperoni was good. Pie was dry. Needs a good olive oil, less oregano, more basil. White pie needs more garlic and olive oil. Pie was dry. Sausage was good. A little more whole fennel in the sausage would be good. Peppers were great. They are marinated and full of flavor.

We live right around the corner from this little pizza place and in my opinion, it’s one of the finest pizza joints in the area. They have lots of size options, and the prices are very reasonable. Most importantly, the pizza is delicious! Check’em out! Support independent local businesses!

DAMN that’s some fiiiiine pizza! I’d personally rate it *just* under Il Forno’s for the Frederick region, but that’s only because I have a soft place in my heart for brick-oven-chewy-charred pizza crust, and Bellisario’s isn’t quite as magnificent in that regard. It’s also pretty darn greasy, but then again, that’s where all the pizza flavor is anyway, so don’t try to play«healthy» here and wipe it all up. Let’s be honest– you just bought a reasonably priced pizza at a hole in the wall in a sketchy looking half-abandoned strip mall. This is honest pizza made by and for real Americans, and you need to RESPECT the pool of grease it comes with. As a side note, I reeeeally don’t care about football, but if I was a super huge fan of anyone other than the Steeler’s… I might watch my back in there.

We first tried Bellisario’s several years ago at the recommendation of our neighbor. We obviously weren’t enamored with it since we didn’t order it again until about three weeks ago. After that night, we quickly declared it to be our new«go to» pizza. The crust was perfect; not too thick/not too thin and crispy with just the right amount of chewiness. The sauce was a little on the sweet side, but that’s something I’ve come to expect from most pizza places in this area. The plain cheese on my half was great, but my boyfriend’s half with onions and sausage was really fantastic. I would give this pizza 4.5 stars. Flash forward one week to the very next pizza night… The sauce is unevenly spread and spills over the edge of the crust in places. The cheese is also uneven and doesn’t completely cover the sauce. The toppings are thrown on haphazardly and my plain cheese half is reduced to a quarter of the pizza. The slices are cut unevenly so there are four enormous slices and four super skinny slices. It looks like somebody had a contest to see who could make the fastest pizza with no concern for presentation whatsoever. I would never have guessed that it came from the same place as a week before…2 stars. We might give it another try at some point, but it won’t be any time soon.

Best pizza anywhere! As the previous reviewer stated, it is sort-of a hole in the wall… there is some seating, but it’s very limited. No delivery, so basically you want to order food for pick-up. It is the greasy New York style… the sauce is awesome(lots of oregano, I think) and the crust is perfect. The white pizza is also very tasty – not bland like the kind some restaurants serve. They also have calzones, hoagies, and something called a wedgie, which is like a sub except it is baked in pizza dough(vegetarian wedgie not on menu, but they have always made one for me when I ask, and it is excellent). The food is really great and the prices are good. The only minor issue is that they are closed on Sundays, and close at 9 p.m. every other day… so no late-night pizzas from here. But check it out anytime before 9, and you won’t be sorry!
