We just had dinner at the Crooked Creek Saloon. It had been 8 years since we were up here in WP and we were looking forward to a great steak. Eight years ago we were not disappointed. We shared the $ 27 Ribeye this time and it was too fatty. They knocked off some of the price, so we felt ok at the end of the evening.

Quaint, super friendly staff. Chile rellenos are some of the best I’ve ever had, gringo style. Pbr is 2 bucks for a draft, so they’re practically paying you to drink it and I dig that. Fun place to kill some time, come see Rosie if you fancy a good time.

Really good food at reasonable prices, anything from happy hour appetizers to burgers to excellent meals. Surprisingly excellent meals actually! If you want the local experience sit on the bar side, it’s a bit of a dive but you can always strike up a conversation. If you’re with your family you’ll want to sit in the dining room which feels much more upscale than the bar. The salad bar is a nice bonus of you need a veggie fix.

Crooked Creek Saloon looks like an old joint that will fall over with a stiff wind. However, food is great and the ambiance is mountain perfect. We had lunch for the family in between tubing and dog sledding. Starter was the Moffat potato skins. We smelled them on the way in; tasted fantastic. Son had the burger, came out a perfect medium well. Daughter had chicken strips with fries. I had the bison burger, darn nice flavor cooked medium. My wife ate the Philly’s Feathered Friend. Huge, tasty sandwich with delicious sweet potato fries. Desert is a must. Try the PB and Chocolate pie. We also shared a creek cookie. Its fresh baked and takes 20 minutes. Ooey, gooey sweet mess of cookie, ice cream and whipped cream. Stop counting calories and just dig in. If needed, the bathrooms are amazingly clean for a mountain town restaurant. We can’t wait to swing by again.

We travel to Winter Park via Amtrak to ski a couple of times each season. The Amtrak station is located in Fraser a quick 10 minutes outside of Winter Park. However with Amtrak being notoriously late, we have found the Crooked Creek to be our favorite waiting spot. Filled with friendly locals, we have never failed to have an entertaining conversation each time we visit the bar! This last visit in January, I tried their food for the first time and had the best veggie burger of our entire trip. So, don’t fret if the train is late, go hang out at the Crooked Creek and you won’t regret it.

I must say the food, especially the wings and their happy hour in general is a must! But, I have been 86’d twice from the place(thought that was a one time thing?) My complaint is the bar staff and bouncers. Only one or two of the female bartenders think they are hot sh*t. Once they have decided that they dislike you even though you leave large tips, are polite and patient(they’re relatively slow due to their favoritism to old locals(which I have no problem with) they seem to cut you off pretty quickly even when no problems have arrived. I was recently cut off abruptly, and was confused as to why. No stumbling, no cursing, not being loud or unruly whatsoever. Anyway, the bouncers were asked to escort me outside. No problem, I left as they followed me. As usual bouncers are they think they are high and mighty and no one in the world better question them or their physical stature. One bouncer proceeded to follow me down the sidewalk in an aggressive manner asking did«I want some»…He kept approaching and I felt very threatened(both bouncers outweighed me by atleast 70−100lbs. Needless to say he wanted to fight and shoved me after putting his fists up. So I defended myself. Just a fair warning to those who may not be liked for any reason at this bar, being polite, patient, and kind doesn’t get you far! I guess this place likes for those that display the«assh*le» attitude. Will never go there again and will spread the word myself about this un-professional establishment.

I really love this place. The food is always delicious but the bartenders are literally the rudest people I have ever met. You would think when you working for tips you would be a little nicer to people. It’s not just one its all all of them. I wish they would get someone in there that actually cares about the customers. I come in here a few times a week and I waited 17 min for the bartender to approach me when I was sitting at the bar. It’s ridiculous! I wish something would give here because I really do enjoy this place.

Missy must be on her period constantly. Ive never been treated so poorly in my life. You probably have to be a local for her to treat you nicely. I asked her to split my bill and she got all huffy, like its really that hard to do your job. Why she works in customer service is beyond me. Usually a nice personality works in these kinds of jobs. When we left for the evening(after paying and giving her a healthy tip) we said«thanks and have a goodnight» she says«dont come back your business isnt welcome here». Wow. Have some balls, which she probably does, to say that to my face and not while im walking away. I know sometimes people give a bad review because they have a personal vendetta against someone, but this isnt the case. Missy is a very bitter person who obviously hates her life and takes it out on those who try to take care of her. So i recommend going somewhere, any where else to eat and have a good time if she is working the bar that night.

Great service and the food is great as well. 1.50 tacos on Mondays tons of meat and veggies on them. Plus cheap beers. The .50 wings are tough to beat. Happy hour from 4 – 7!

Horrible service. Inadequate food that was overlooked or failed to live up any expectation even the basic person with no taste palate would expect. See my checkin for a more detailed experience but this place sucks for food and service. It should just be a bar where you can’t screw up this bad

The«other side» oh the Saloon is the Creekside Eatery. Excellent lunch! We had enormous bowls of some of the best green chili we have had since moving to Colorado! We order green chili in most any local(vs chain) restaurant we visit and Crooked Creek Saloon and Creekside Eatery serves among the best. It was nearly a stew — just fine pork and green chili. The baked potato skins were potatoes halved — a meal in itself! We took out half of the huge helpings of chili and potato skins. Friendly server, warm, cosy atmosphere. Hopefully we will return.

Crooked Creek Saloon is really the only game in this town if you’re looking to drink past 11pm at night. You won’t find a ton of folks out and about here, but the ones that are define small mountain town sweethearts. The drinks are really cheap, there’s live music, and they have an outdoor patio to smoke cigars or other stuff that’s legal in Colorado on. Overall, I think I’d definitely come back to this bar. Even if it didn’t have a late night monopoly on the Fraser strip.

The Green Chili Fries rock! Can’t go wrong with an order of these and a beer. They have a pool table in the bar area. It wasn’t far from the Colorado Adventure Park in Fraser and we were hungry so we chose the Crooked Creek. The burger was good not the best in the valley but good. They had live music that night so that was cool. They were busy so service was a little slow. We sat in the bar and the girl had to run the bar and the tables in the bar. It was fun to try a different place. It is definitely a local’s hang out. When you want something different try the Crooked Creek.

Very friendly place with burgers, onion rings, tater tots, as well as a fresh salad bar, and other healthy options. Great place to try a buffalo burger, and five screens to catch the game of your choice. Very reasonably priced too!

Eight of us arrived at 10am on Saturday November 29th and were sat in the restaurant area(We were the only table there at the time). Our waitress brings cups of ice and then returns with pitchers of water and asks if we are ready to order. We haven’t even received menu’s yet! She then proceeds to claim she just woke up. We ask about the owners to see if it has changed hands recently and she says she has no clue because she’s only been working there for two weeks. After ordering, the food took about 30 minutes to start coming out two meals at a time with around 5 minutes in between. So after the third trip and 15 minutes, we ask the waitress where the last two meals were. She looked very confused and says«8 people are a lot to keep track of.» She then goes to the kitchen and comes back and said they would be just a few minutes, not admitting fault or apologizing for somehow forgetting to ring in all the food for her only table(which she wrote the order down for). After almost 30 more minutes, the last two meals finally come out and the waitress delivers it with no apologies. One of the two gentleman in my group whose food was forgotten proceeds to ask the waitress if she is going to comp his meal because she forgot it. She looks at him and says«Do you want it for free?» He says yes and she leaves. We are finished eating and have to flag the waitress down and ask for a check as she does not check back once to see how the forgotten food tasted. She delivers the check without saying a word and walks off. The forgotten meals were not discounted at all and the bartender came over to grab our payment. She was very nice and more personable in 5 minutes of dealing with her than our waitress was the whole meal. She comped 50% off the two entrees for us and we went on our way. This establishment needs a lot of help to get a return visit from anybody in my group. The waitress doesn’t know basic menu knowledge or who the owners even are. She forgot our food, gave the wrong dish to 3 different persons in our group, and didn’t once check on us to see how we were doing. The food was under-seasoned, and fair at best. With so many nearby places to get great food and great service, I wouldn’t waste your time going to Crooked Creek Saloon.

What a lucky find! We were driving through Fraser last night looking for a place to eat & happened on Creekside. The service was outstanding, they treated everyone very well, adults & kids alike. Appetizers, salad bar, and entrees were all very tasty and perfect temp. Our party of six enjoyed their meals… soup & salad, chicken fried steak, burgers. All very good! The owner, our main waitress, and at least 3 other people gave us fun, impeccable service. They have games to play while u wait for dinner, TVs with sports on in one room, and cool décor. Topping it off was dessert. Try the Creekside Cookie… you’ll be glad you did!

After meeting the rude, sarcastic owner, I knew I’d never step foot in this establishment again. From the butt-ugly inarticulate attempts at saloon girl pinup art slapped on the exterior and interior of this place, to the lackluster attempt at a «western saloon motif», I’d highly recommend spending your money elsewhere. Who cares about the food??! Thumbs DOWN, folks!
