This guy left a lot of people(customers) holding the bag when he went bankrupt in the Goodlettsville store a few years back. He sold«membership’s» to his indoor range and kept the money. I visited the now bankrupt second store in Franklin and it appears he did the same thing to those folks. In my opinion he is a con man of the lowest order. I bought 2 Ruger Vaquero pistols from him and a few days later happened to discover ‘Guns & Leather’ in Greenbriar, Tn. The very same pistols were over $ 100.00 less expensive each. There are many people who were burned in his dealings. He proclaimed himself to being bought out by Remington Firearms for millions. Some of us have lost children, but it did not affect our ethics in business dealings. He, and his store, needed to go. The enthusiast community is well aware of Mr. Uselton and his bad treatment of trusting customers. Good riddance.

Well, I think the previous two ol’ boys that stood up for Rick did so because they were friends and hated to see his business coming to an end. And they are to be admired for standing beside a useless prick like their friend Rick. I went in Uselton’s the day it opened. Right off Rick struck me as pompous. And when we went into his range rules and such, I just knew I’d still be making the drive to Gun City. Useton’s won’t allow magnum rounds, reloads, or gathering your own brass. These are little things that are deal breakers for me. I heard of those that were coming by and treating you to the«upper decker». I always wanted to but just couldn’t make myself wanna be in your store that long. It has to suck to be advancing in years and not able to do the trade you enjoy. But there’s a great price to pay for being a giant horse’s ass… All the negative reviews were warranted and they turned into a roadblock Rick could never get around. And now you’re closing a second store. Maybe you shouldn’t have gave that interview where you came off as wishy washy on the Second Amendment… I knew you were screwed and on the way out when you quit advertising on Ralph Bristol’s show…

I stared at my blank screen, not knowing where to begin with this review, or if I should even write it. I started using Uselton’s range this Spring after visiting the only indoor range within the city limits of Nashville(at that time), and hating it. This family owned and operated business built custom arms, housed a storefront where one could purchase a firearm, accessories, or even rent a firearm to try in their indoor range. Despite negative reviews and comments on various forums, my experiences with the staff were always pleasant, regardless if my accompanying comrades were members or not. I felt their prices for lane fees, targets, ammunition, etc. were fair. If a member in my party was only there to assist in sharpening my skills, they would not charge us simply for their presence. My hesitancy in writing this review is surrounded by recent news that Uselton’s has closed their doors. I just visited their range recently, and while the word on the street has been they were planning on closing due to a family tragedy, it was not mentioned or posted. A forum indicated the week of September 16th was the last, and as I looked at their website this weekend, their range and storefront information pages have been removed. Although, it appears they are still building custom arms. Sad to see them close, but if you’re looking for something custom built, check ‘em out.

As a law enforcement officer and a gun enthusiast, I’m both proud and appreciative that Uselton’s is around. I can’t believe some of the B. S negative reviews I have read. Rick, the owner is one of the most knowledgeable, talented, honest, and all around genuine human beings I’ve met. He keeps his shop clean, full of great guns all priced competitively and has the best in door range around(if anyone has taken the time to go to the various indoor ranges, you know Uselton’s range is far superior to the others). When I read those negative posts, citing unprofessionalism, it made me wonder who the individual(s) behind the computer screen was. Rick and his staff have a stand up reputation within the entire community. All the law enforcement and non law enforcement people I know, all speak of the high level of professionalism and integrity Rick and his staff possess. I’m currently having an AR-15 that I purchased through an auction transferred to Uselton’s and Rick could have told me no, or even charged me outrageous transfer fees. Instead, Rick(Uselton Owner) told me that if I went ahead with the auction purchase that he would take care of me, and you know what, he always has and he’s proving it once again with this transfer. It brings a sense of security to me knowing Uselton’s is handling my transfer. Being in law enforcement, its extremely important to me that all the paperwork is done by someone I can trust. Especially since this is a gun I intend on using for duty. These people are the fabric of America. They are a local business providing superior products and services. I believe in supporting local businesses and its easy in the case of Uselton’s for me to do that. My advice to anyone looking to challenge Uselton’s reputation is to take a hard look in the mirror and ask themselves if they are putting permanent ink on the internet in the form of B. S, because at the end of the day all a person has is their reputation. The proof is in the pudding as they say and Uselton’s has proved time after time that they are good and professional people. Thank you to Rick and the Uselton staff, keep making great guns, selling cheap ammo and keeping the lights on in the shooting range. –Jon
