Tarbin Gardens is magical. Just walking the garden paths affects you like meditation — peaceful, beautiful and soothing. Every time you visit you will see something new and every visit is a treat. The family who owns/operates the gardens could not be nicer people. The English cream teas are an absolute delicacy, not to be missed. I cannot imagine a nicer place for a small wedding, a shower, or just an afternoon out with the family. The small family gathering we held here was wonderful for everyone who came. There’s a petting zoo for the kids, my husband and I have spent many an afternoon just watching the frogs next to the willow pond, there are too many delights there to list. The next time there’s a beautiful day in the lakes region… go find Tarbin Gardens!

What a fun, quirky find in the middle of almost nowhere! Tarbini Gardens is a 5-acre garden and hobby farm culled from the midst of the New Hampshire woods, designed to be casual and educational. For the casual visitor, it offers a soothing, interesting ambiance, perfect for kids – don’t miss the petting zoo portions. For the intrepid gardener, it offers inspiration – the staff will talk your ear off if you ask. And for the exhausted, it offers a remarkable slice of calm and relaxation. Developed and run by an English family, it even offers a high English tea… and makes its outdoor space available to picnickers, too. Really, this is an undiscovered gem just outside of Franklin. Much more impressive and enjoyable than it seems at first blush!
