I was excited that they’re so close to my home, and open on a Sunday!
Then… After the stardust left me I noticed the «less than» buffing and nail polish application job later. My father went with me and had a pedicure. They dug, and dug, and dug, even after he told the tech «my podiatrist removed that nail 6 months ago»… And then his toe bled. Dad being dad said no big deal.
I went a second time, this time a different tech. She asked if I wanted nail art, I said that’d be great! She then asks if I’d like an Easter egg. Sure! I then google an Easter egg, which was in a basket with grass, a bow… Pretty! She says «THAT TOO HARD!» Ok. Calm down. What did you have in mind? A white blob with a couple of squiggle lines. Really. Really? No. I would need to explain the bird poop design on my finger nail is an Easter egg. How about an Easter Lilly? You guessed it: «THAT TOO HARD!» My mani/​pedi was a disappointment. And that was last time I will be going to Li-​En #1.

I enjoyed the foot and calf massage my nail tech gave me, but when I glanced at the paint job on both my finger and toenails, it appeared to me to be a bit sloppy. The polish on my toenails seemed a bit uneven, and my cuticles had tiny spots of pink polish all over them. I’m glad Li-​En is in business and can offer nail services to this area of Franklin. I can’t say I’ll be back, though.

WHAT!!!
I’m a man. I have flat feet — when I run, I have to wear orthotics so my ankles don’t swell up to like three times they’re normal size. Yup. It’s awesome.
What this also means is that I get these massive gross calluses on the sides of my big toes. I know, stand back, ladies. Don’t all crowd around me at once.
Anyway, my mom tells me, «We’re going to get a pedicure…»
And me, being the adventurous type who always wants to do something new, says «Um, no.»
Well…long story short, I went. It was awesome. And that was like 4 pedicures ago. (No, I don’t get polish… THAT would be a little much).
No. I don’t care what you think.
I’m a straight man. I get pedicures. You should too.
