Excellent fried chicken — juicy, good spice, skin is crispy. Mac and cheese has a nice spice to it. Tasty potato salad as well. Haven’t really ordered anything else but I’m thinking I should.

Mr G’s is my go-to take-out, «pig out in front of the TV» spot. I’ve ordered from here several times(burgers, wraps, sandwiches, fries, wings) and everything is always spot on. It’s fresh, it’s cheap, it’s tasty, the woman who works the front counter and Mr G are always so nice. I definitely recommend if you’re looking for some tasty, cheap grub.

Just went to Mr G’s and was greeted by an angry woman who rolled her eyes the whole time. Mr G was no prize either. The food was not soul food. Not even close. The ribs were fatty, Mac and cheese tasted like styrofoam, collard greens were like they just picked them. I had better soul food at a KKK rally. Someone owes me $ 40…

Absolutely love Mr. G’s cheese steaks — and the variety of unique cheese steaks. I like the Fat Knight — a cheese steak with mozzerella sticks and chicken tenders and fries ON the cheesesteak with honey mustard dressing — where else can you get that?! Mr. G is very friendly and gives very good service. They have a very extensive menu, everything is cooked to order and the prices are very, very reasonable. The place is clean and uncluttered and the service is great.

This is my second time here so I figured it was time to write a review! I have only ordered a fat sandwich from here on both occasions. They are generously filled and very filling. They are always made fresh and the bread is very soft. It really is great to know that I don’t have to drive to New Brunswick to get a fat sandwich! Very delicious and the owner is always friendly!

I go here for the fried chicken and fries. They also have good cheesesteaks. Although sometimes the chicken is a bit bland but not oily. Mr G has his own style lol but a good, friendly host and chef.

They claim to have started the original«Fat Cat» in 1986 in New Brunswick. Being a Rutgers Alumni I had to test that claim and try the classic Fat Darrell. It was pretty good, portion size appears to be larger than the grease trucks around RU. Mr. G behind the counter is very friendly and welcoming. I will be going back for sure.
