The hash brown battered cod, fried on a stick, was excellent, I wish I had ordered two. However, we could not taste or smell even the faintest hint of smoke on the smoked brisket we ordered and took to go, which was really disappointing. The baked beans tasted like canned, which is ok, but the house made bacon we cooked a few days later was nothing special. Service was excellent. I would go back for the fried fish on a stick, but I would order something else to go next time. This place is just a few steps from the big city park on the water, so grabbing something for a picnic would be fun. FYI, it is mainly carry out, there is one two top table inside, likely for customers that are waiting on a to go order.

I was introduced to Port City Smokehouse two years ago and was impressed with the quality of their products. The pâté was definitely my favorite and I’m always a fan of the smoked fish… moist and tastey! The Smokehouse offers more than just fish products — you can purchase BBQ meals, wine, dried Michigan cherries and other fruits and jerky. I believe they also carry a variety of jams. It is a great one-stop-shop for all of your Michigan-centric food needs :) A trip to Frankfort isn’t complete without getting some smoked fish, jerky or pâté!

We were traveling through the area at lunch time and were looking for a place to get some fresh fish and found Heaven. We ordered the Whitefish plate. Came with slaw and fries. There were 3 big pieces of fresh Whitefish. It was delicious. We took our meal outside and sat at a picnic table overlooking the Bay. Not much of a view but the weather was great and the meal superb. Before we left I bought a sample pack of Smoked Fish: Whitefish, Salmon and Lake Trout to enjoy later. Also, couldn’t resist picking up a sampler pack of pâté: again Salmon, Whitefish and trout. Came with little packs of crackers which was nice for later in our hotel room with a cold beer. There is a nice selection of wines and craft beers for purchase. And they will ship fish anywhere.

A must-stop during your Frankfort visit! We came for the smoked fish pâté, but there are pieces of smoked fish and fresh fish available, as well as bottles of wine and craft beer, cheeses and crackers, and prepared food. I appreciated being able to sample dips before purchasing them. It was such a tough decision between fiesta salmon, smoked whitefish, and smoked trout. We opted for the latter, paired it with some craft beer back in our room, and had a nice little happy hour before dinner. We stopped back by on our way home to pick up some smoked fish and more pâté for a friend. If you can’t make it to Frankfort any time soon, they ship anywhere!

Good seafood market with fresh salmon, whitefish, trout. However the must try is their house pâtés. The salmon pâté and the whitefish pâté are delicious and the perfect appetizer with crackers and of course wine.

One of the best fish markets I have ever been to, not the biggest selection, but everything is fresh out of the local waters. The smoked salmon was the most moist I have ever had. The smoked lake trout pâté is absolutely incredible. So perfect with the wine of your choice. They do offer nationwide shipping but not sure if it would be advisable, for as they call it, «temperature sensitive items» to be shipped as far as California, but I am willing to give it a try. Nice offerings of quality crackers to carry these wonderful treats to your pie hole.

Looking for a one-stop shop for a casual lunch AND a place to load up on smoked local fish, pâtés, beer/wine, and cheese/crackers for cocktail hour? Yes! Such a place exists, even in little Frankfort. Follow your nose to the Smokehouse and prepare to be amazed. Their selection of crackers, chips, dips, salsas, chutneys and lots of other hors d’oeuvres is probably the best in town. Order yourself a whitefish sandwich or some pulled pork for lunch, and be sure to get a side of onion rings – they’re some of the best I’ve ever had. Peruse the shelves while you wait for other goodies to take back to your cottage and enjoy before dinner, and then enjoy your lunch outside on their patio that sits adjacent to Betsie Bay. Port City will ship their smoked fish anywhere in the country, or you can bring your own fresh catch to them and have it smoked for you in a matter of days. Be sure to check out the specials board outside for great lunch deals, like fish tacos or bbq platters. Staff is super sweet and helpful.

This cute, quaint little smokehouse and seafood market features tons of fresh fish, jerky, and misc. jams, spices, sauces, and treats. The house make jerky was super yummy and comes in a dozen varieties and the wasabi peas are sold in a giant container for $ 3.79 and also good. I believe if you catch a fish in the lake, they will prep it for you. A definite stop before an outdoor bbq or special dinner.
