Foxxy Nail Spa

Average no –chip manicure. Took over an hour with a a lot of interruptions! My nails did not even last two weeks while an average no chip manicure lasts more than two weeks. I will not be returning

They are now my go to place! They’ve done a great job everytime and their work always gets complimented!

Came to fox lake for vacation and wanted my nails done. Nails are okay. Wanted an acrylic nail art with a bow but they look like flowers. I have them on two different nails on each hand and they aren’t the same on both. One is bigger and other smaller. Also the fake nails look too squared. It should’ve been more molded to look more natural on my real nails. I like my nails but i think they couldve done better. There are a lot of better nail places back where im from.

I have been coming here since it has opened. It is family owned by a husband and wife. I know others my not like it because they want to relax but their kids are at the salon on occasion. So yes, there will be some toys and it maybe loud sometimes. They have done a great job with keeping the salon up to date. They have put new light fixtures in by the pedicure chairs.
I have tried other salons just because the price for a no chip manicure is $ 40. Other places use low quality polish. So in other words I keep going back to Foxxy Nail Spa. Yes it maybe expensive but it is a good quality. My favorite gel polish is called Gelish. I have never had any complaints about the service. Eric and Janelle are very friendly. I will keep going back.
Oh, and before I forget my gel manicure lasts about 3 weeks. And yes I do work, sometimes having to wash dishes. I am a preschool teacher that teaches year round.

I’m usually pretty happy with this nail spa. However, they are always very crowded and don’t have enough technicians to help. I wait every time I come in. Today they were extra short in staff, which I can understand, but I couldn’t figure out how they were deciding who to take next. There was a sign in sheet but they took three other people before me that signed in after me. Also, just be honest with people about how long the wait is. We don’t like being put into a pedicure chair and sitting there for an hour before you actually start our pedicure.

This place is a favorite of mine. I’ve tried other nail salons but I always leave those places thinking I should have gone to Foxxy instead. I guess you could say that I always leave this place feeling foxy!
I disagree with the reviewer that said this place was a dump or that there are kids toys everywhere. I have been coming here since 2007 and never experienced this. It’s true that the owners bring their kids every now and then, but the kids are so well behaved that I’m taking notes on how I can get this kind of obedience with my own kids! Sometimes I’m here 15 minutes before I even realize the kids are here! Also, this business makes regular updates, most recently the lights and manicure stations.
One last thing worth noting is that the bickering a reviewer commented on is usually pretty hilarious conversation that is bound to take place when you are amongst one dude and 10 girls — not necessarily husband/​wife stuff, and I always feel like a part of the family and not like an awkward observer of it all.
I recommend you get your nails done here and see for yourself. What’s the worst that could happen? There is a thing called nail polish remover!

If you have moments when you don’t understand why, and you really don’t want someone else’s opinion… go get your nails done!
I’ve gone here since they opened and actually followed Jenelle from her parents place in McHenry. Jenelle and Eric are consistantly good and really try their best to accomodate all the influx of walk-​ins, (probably due to Starbucks next door.) These two have a busy shop!
Tony was my favorite after Anna left to TX and now Tony’s wife Tina does an amazing job! I can get through with a Pedi and Gell Fill w No Chip in just over an hour 90% of the time. There is another girl that would sit to the left of Jenelle, she’s great if still there and if Kim’s there, great Pedi and Mani
They are a bit more expensive (and based on my order above you know I’m spending a pretty penny,) but I have a beautiful set of toes and fingers when I leave!

I have been a customer since Foxxy Nails opened. The first few years it was great and so convenient for me. However, in the last year or so, it has really gone down hill. My husband went in for a pedicure and the tech cut him to the point of bleeding. I’ve gone in for my appt with Eric and he was so backed up that I had to reschedule. And most of all, it is filthy! I believe the tools are sterilized but it appears that the nail dust has never been vacuumed. I’m not inhaling that any more. And to boot, he’s raised their prices, really?

This place is pricier than other salons – $ 38 for a no chip mani, but this is the only no chip mani that I have ever been happy with – it looks professional and has lasted over two weeks, like it is supposed to… Worth the extra $$, in my opinion. I recommend Eric; he owns the place with his wife, Janelle. (She’d be my second choice if Eric weren’t available.) This salon is definitely not very relaxing; they are always super busy, but the staff is very friendly and it is a fun atmosphere.

A little pricier than the others, but always clean and fast. Just wish they would do a no chip without the entire manicure.

I went to this nail salon today, a Sunday, love the fact that they are open on Sundays! I don’t know the name of the lady that did my nails but I love them. She was very quick doing them. Also and maybe it’s just me but I love the fact that I could understand her when she talked to me. I will be going back for fills and more designs!

Love this place! they know how to treat their customer.

This place is amazing! The atmosphere is so fun! Best part is when I had my wedding party, everyone was so accommodating! They always do such an amazing job: I couldn’t ask for a better nail place! What’s more fun is that they don’t make you feel awkward when they speak in their language! You would be a fool to not love a place like Foxxy! It’s in the name.

I have been going to this salon for over five years. Since it opened as I live very close by. When it opened it was very nice. But now every time I go I promise myself never again. It is a dump.
Janelle is the only tech worth going to. She is the owner. She brings her son most of the time. He destroys the place. Toys everywhere. Food everywhere it is not professional. A salon should be a place for relaxing. This place is like a daycare center. They are also overpriced. I just recently tried the no chip and it complete came off two fingers in two days and the rest chipped. I tried it again. Same thing. Don’t go there if u can help it. If you must only get Janelle. Even then you will prob have to listen to her constant bickering with her husband, another tech, Eric. It is pretty awkward.

On 8÷22÷13 I went to Foxxy’s for the 1^st time for a pedi. Great experience. The staff was friendly, outgoing, and professional. I will definitely be going back for another… maybe I will try a mani too. Enjoy!

I got a French no chip mani and regular pedi here. The people are nice, the place is clean, and the nail tech did a great job with cuticles. But the no chip didn’t ended up washing off at the tips when I did the dishes later the same day. The tech working on my pedicure was clearly inexperienced and required assistance every step of the way; the tech working on my manicure was rushed by the owner to finish quickly. The setting is decent but the staff is mismanaged. I’d be willing to give them another chance but first I’ll explore other salons in the area.

My wife has tried several other places for her mani/​pedis and after finding this place she won’t go anywhere else.
