My 13 year old daughter just started at USSD Fountain Valley and Sensei Ben made her feel very comfortable. He is friendly and warm — and makes everybody feel welcome. We have signed up for our first month at his studio and my daughter is really enjoying it. He paces his group and individual classes according to the students’ needs and abilities — slowing down for those who need it and teaching more advanced concepts even for newer students, when they show readiness.

I started taking lessons in September 2014. Sensei Ben is very patient and offers a great variety of training. He keeps it fun and challenging. I am officially hooked on Shaolin Kempo Karate! It’s great to see the progress of my dojo mates as we learn forms, Kempos, and defensive maneuvers together. If you’ve ever thought about trying martial arts, try USSD!

I really like this karate studio. I have been attending classes for a while now. Me and my 6 year old daughter really like the instructor, he is a great teacher but mostly a good motivator. Price is higher than other places but the value added with the individual lessons is totally worth it. Could use a coat of paint though.

This is a great studio. I have had the pleasure of having my 6 year old daughter training here for the past few months, and really liked it so far. They have a brand new instructor, Ben, who is really cool, and we are very happy with his knowledge in Karate. Parking is a bit rough during dinner time, but I don’t mind having some food at G Burger afterwards.

I love going to this dojo. Our current sensei (Nate) is awesome. Shane also comes to teach and he is awesome as well. I am learning a lot and refining what I have learned from prior instructors. I started karate grudgingly as a favor to my partner who is very into it, but now I am very much into it myself. Learning how to spar gives me a great workout, so does learning DM’s, forms, kempos, etc. The instructors are very attentive, sensitive to one’s concerns, precise in their teaching and make the whole learning experience very enjoyable.
