Roasting Water

This place got crowded super fast after we came – luckily we found seats. This location is located in a small plaza, but I like the fact that the store is bigger and has places to sit and hang out. They have cute displays and a variety of games — though a lot of the games were missing something. Overall — would recommend coming here then their other locations.

They have a lot of variety of drinks and the place seems relaxing. I didn’t like how the menu is awkwardly placed on top of the cashiers table and it has no pictures. I didn’t want to spend a long time staring at the menu, plus the cashier was just staring at me awkwardly as well which didn’t help. I ended up just getting Thai tea boba for about $ 4 because I’ve had it before at other places. It was really tasty and flavorful plus the bottle it comes in is super cute. I will go again maybe just another location.
Wish they had food /​snacks or different size bottles for kids. Oh well.

I would say that the location of this place isn’t good due to the fact that is hidden but other than that it’s a great place to hangout and chill. More spacious compared to the other RW around the area. Their service stood out to me because of how quick the drinks got out without losing its quality. I got the strawberry blonde and you could really fast the blend of strawberry and mango. Definitely recommend this location and the workers are friendly. The ambiance is very nice and creative, and their cute new bottles add plus points. Will go back just because of the overall service and place.

RW recently switched to plastic containers — Not too happy with that. Also the artwork on the bottles looks like it’s been done by a 5 year old.

Would give this place one star but I give it props for interior design, it’s cute and simple. Only giving this place 2 stars BECAUSE — it is in a bad location, it’s really hot in there, they are UNDERSTAFFED! I came in there & waited in line 10 mins to have my order taken. Either they are understaffed or just don’t know how to manage stuff/​multi task. Right when I walked in, none of the employees even acknowledged my friend & I. They all just stare at you and eventually decide to take your order… I ordered a mocha frappucino, I was told that it is blended with mostly coffee but I did not taste coffee in that drink, not even a little. It was mostly chocolate. I don’t understand the hype of this place besides the interior and semi-​cute bottles they give out with the drink. I wouldn’t come back ever, atleast not at this location.

Not really impressed at all. Beside getting a free plastic bottle, there is nothing special about their drinks. But come to think about it, at $ 5 a drink, you are actually paying for the bottle. There is alot of places out there that is so much better than here.
But the place was cutely decorated.

I love this place’s layout! There are books and board games and chess tables along with different mugs and teapots. I think they sell the mugs? The menu is big and there are so many choices ranging from teas to smoothies to coffee and more. Every drink comes in a glass bottle with a cork that’s really cute. I’m not sure what the ounce-​age on the bottles are but I feel like it’s less than a regular cup at a boba place.
My BF and I tried a Thai tea smoothie and a mango tea with mango chunks and basil seeds. The tea was great; not too sweet and a good amount of add ons. The Thai tea was okay. It comes with whipped cream on the top and I thought it was way too sweet.
The guy that helped me didn’t really know what some of the stuff on the menu was which was kind of fail as I was asking him a ton of questions.
There are also corks littered all over the parking lot which sucks… maybe put a string around the bottle?

I love this place! California is so outstanding when it comes to boba. I think because of the competition, everyone steps it up.
I want to point out that I’m not from California, the land of Asian food and drink bliss. In Miami, there is only ONE boba place and you pay $ 7.95 for it and it’s average.
Roasting Water is not only great quality but at a great price. You get a glass bottle with your boba (now plastic) and you just pay $ 3. It doesn’t get ANY better than that!
Despite all of this, my favorite thing from this place was the coffee. It’s delicious. It has this coconut crema that was to DIE FOR! I will never go back to Starbucks again.

Marketing hype. We ordered 12 bottles because they were selling drinks in emoji bottles. They said it was random but we got 11 of the same bottles so I asked why and the employees said they came in big boxes that they didn’t want to open and sort. I wasn’t asking for a specific bottle but just wanted variety. They lie to customers and that’s not ok. The drinks have way too much ice as well. Very unhappy since I’ve been here a few times and it’s been inconsistent.

I’m a sucker for promos. So, when my coworker told me they were giving out free mugs (with purchase) during their grand opening week, I was there in a jiffy! I’m good at getting lost, so here’s a little TIP. It’s located in a random plaza near a Psychic (look for the purple sign). If you end up in the Walgreens plaza, you’ve gone too far.
Drinks & boba texture are consistent with the Westminster location. Both on point! I’m still a big fan of LOTS of LYCHEE ($ 4.50 w/​2 add ons) with boba and lychee jelly. A refreshing and light drink with lots of chewy fun. Second go-​to drink is GREEN MILK TEA w/​boba ($ 3.50). Good tea aroma with a good balance of sweetness and milkiness.
–Avocado and Thai tea… solid.
On the contrary, the MILKY ICE was over the top sweet. Basically icy milk w/​brown sugar, egg pudding and boba. Ok for KIDS because it has NO caffeine. Similar to the Halo at Craved, but didn’t quite hit the mark. Will consider re challenging with 50% less sugar.
Kudos on the décor and set up of this location. I’m digging the bookcase that has a warm, yet Harry Potter feel to it. Plus, the ladder gives it so much character. Supplied with board games, books and rustic decorations. AND the birdcage seats! Seriously, cute, fun and spacious all around.

It is obvious that the competition for boba shops in OC is tough. But, RW has found their niche with good drinks, multifunctional glass containers (use mine as a vase) and a cute mug shop. Hooray!

I had high expectations for Roasting Water since everyone and their mom is posting pictures on Unilocal and IG. So when I came here on a weeknight I was slightly surprised since it wasn’t too crowded. They have a wide selection of drinks on the menu and I decided to go with the LOL or lots of lychee which is a lychee shaken tea with the bits of lychee and basil seeds. The drink itself didn’t really do too much for me. I expected it to have a lot more flavor but unfortunately in my opinion it lacked. I also added honey aloe and boba to my drink. The boba lacked flavor and I didn’t really care for the texture of it. Overall, the drink itself was not impressive at all. Taking the price into consideration and how the drink includes the bottle in which you can keep, the price is not that bad. I just wish the drink itself and the boba had more flavor to it.
The only cool thing is that they have the same initials as I do so it looks like my bottle was personalized: D

I needed a little something refreshing after work and happen to see that I previously bookmarked this place. Glad I did and it wasn’t all that far from work, coming from Anaheim.
Followed the directions here and was wondering as I drove from Harbor Blvd that I was going into a residential area. And after the slight turn, there’s this small shopping center. I wouldn’t call it sketchy or anything like that when I drove up, but that I wouldn’t have anticipated this location I anticipated more of a commercial area. Well, there’s plenty of parking arriving here around 7:30pm. I walked in and enjoyed the décor. It’s a very comfy setting and more of a place to chill. I wouldn’t consider this a study location at all. The music has occasional pauses, but when it’s on, it could be toned down a bit.
When you enter, the menus are available on your right hand side above the trash can. So if it’s busy, I would recommend grabbing a menu. Not in the most visible location, I just happen to see it on my way out.
After chatting with the cashier, thankfully I was he only one in line cause I wanted to know about the drinks and such, I chose the LOL, lots of lychee. There are 2 add ins included in the price, so I added lychee bits and boba. They also have the choice of herbal or green tea, I chose herbal. Totally loved the drink. It was served in a glass bottle and I can’t believe such a nice bottle was included in the price of $ 4.75. Most places I’ve been to actually charge more to go the sustainable way and are more expensive than this price! So I give kudos for this! The tea was awesome, but a little on the sweet side. I may ask next time not to make it very sweet. And about half the bottle was full of the fun tid bits of lychee and boba. I think you get more than what you pay for here.
I definitely would come back here and bring back my bottle for a refill. I kinda wonder about the bottles in the trash and if they separate it for recycling or reuse them and make sure they go through thorough cleaning process.
The one unfortunate thing is that the shop next door may be putting things up on their wall. There has been a lot of hammering come from next door.

My jasmine sea cream was OK. I guess I have high standards because it left a lot to be desired. Tasted kind of like watery milk with a hint of jasmine tea — I was hoping for a stronger tea taste. The glass jars you get to keep are super cool though! I need give this place another chance so I can try another drink and see if the drinks can hold up to such an awesome little shop.
The plaza it’s in is a little sketchy at night… but the inside is the cutest! I love all of the decorations and furniture. It definitely attracts the younger crowd and I can totally see why. There’s plenty of seating compared to their other locations. I was in the middle of a conversation when all of a sudden EDM was on FULL blast. It was as if someone was in the back, looking at their watch and thinking, «Oh it’s 8pm. Let’s drop this beat!!!» LOL I love EDM but I don’t want to find myself sitting in a boba shop and wondering if I’m actually at a club. It’s such a cute boba shop, play some classy music or at least keep the EDM at a low volume so I can actually hear what my company is saying.
I’ll come back! Hopefully the drinks won’t disappoint this time!

This Roasting Waters is located really close by to Mile Square park. I gotta admit its probably the best boba, drink place within a close range of the park. I’m not that big of a fan but I actually don’t mind RW. The service was nice, the store was cool and they did have their bottles that day so props for that. They run out of it sometimes as the bottles are very popular.
I was in the area hanging with a friend of mine and we got thirsty. I searched Unilocal and only RW was close by that I really wanted to try so we went. I got a strawberry lemonade in their glass bottle and called it a night. Their drinks are usually a hit and miss with me, but today it was a hit. Actually it was the best one they had served to me yet. The strawberry chucks were fresh, the drink was not overly sour nor sweet (just the right balance) and they didn’t pack a lot of ice either. Well done, well done indeed **golf clap**. Maybe its the location, I have to come back again to try it. My friend had some fruity drink too, I think it was some kinda lychee drink. I’m not a fan of lychee actually but I guess she liked it. This is probably the most spacious out of all their locations. The prior too are so stuffed and packed, whereas this one you can actually chill at.
Overall, it was a solid new location that opened up. Friendly service, the drinks are on point and pretty much thats it. Side note, don’t take pictures of the bottles suspending on your steering wheel like me. It fell off due and landed on my Johnson, the pain!!! Damn their bottles are slippery… Total epic fail on my part as my friend was laughing drastically while I was in sheer pain, smh… sigh.

4 stars for the cool glass bottles and use of fresh ingredients in their drinks. I got the Lots of Lychee (LOL) fruit tea. I did not get any boba but I’m glad I didn’t as I was able to enjoy the fresh lychee in my drink instead. I would describe this drink as very ‘pulpy’ with all the lychee but with a faint presence of tea flavors and sweetness as well. Thick straw absolutely required. These are brewed fresh, so their drinks might take a little long, but they are totally worth it. I liked the taste of my drink and the design of my bottle. I’ll definitely come back to try more and hopefully nab another original bottle since I hear they change on a monthly basis.
I’m knocking off one star for this location because of the loud music. It doesn’t make it the best study location and trying to listen for your drink order is challenging. I mean, I’m down for EDM music, but not in a tea shop in the middle of the day.

This was my first trip out here to Roasting Water. Have been seeing it all over Instagram and Unilocal for quite a while now and was in the area so I decided to check it out.
From all the photos I’ve have seen about Roasting Waters, when I first arrived to the plaza, it was definitely not what I was expecting. The plaza was a little on the older side with a whole bunch other of little mom and pop shops but who cares right? Let’s see what they are all about. When you step inside, you definitely see a difference between the outside versus the inside. They have wooden style tables, birdcage chairs, wooden tree branches with little panda cups sitting inside, vintage style book shelf and a whole lot of cute little cups and mugs. If you find don’t be taken back when you find out these cups are glued shut down but if you find something you like, they might have it in stock for sale.
Now for the drinks. They have a large variety of different drink from smoothies, slushes, teas, and coffees all of which are served in a glass style jar etched with a cute design. The glass price is already included in the drink which will run you about $ 5.50 which isn’t bad at all. On a plus note, they don’t skimp and use a clear sticker to wrap on the glass but instead, their designs are actually part of the glass. We ordered the Sunburst and Strawberry Kissed. The Sunburst is a strawberry and passionfruit smoothie mix topped with real strawberry bits. The Strawberry Kissed was a strawberry slush with real strawberries and added boba. Both drink were actually really good and tasty unlike other shops which mainly try to sell you on their cute mugs and bland drink flavors.
I saw some others bring back their old glass mug so I’m assuming you can get a discount on your order.
I can see what all the hype is about and will be back again when I’m in the area.

It’s not in the nicest location. It is big enough for Asian group hangouts and they have tables of games like checkers, chess or board games. This location is bigger than the Westminster store. They have all the cute mugs and cups you can buy lining the walls.
RW black coffee: strong! And sweet! It is very black coffee loaded with sugar.
Guava tea: this is very refreshing. It has chunks of strawberry and basil seeds. This is also pretty sweet.
Current glass bottles have like a city skyline print.

I fell in love with roasting water after trying it in westminister. I know everyone goes for the cute bottles (I sure did!) but I was blown away by how good the drinks were. When I came here I was impressed by how spacious this one is compared to the one in westminister. They have the same cute cups for their décor but they have a lot more tables, games to play, and room to sit! The drinks are super reasonably priced and it comes with a usable plastic bottle now. I got my favorite the strawberry blonde and it did not disappoint.
On a sad note they ran out of boba, but that’s ok I still love roasting water ! I definitely try to come here whenever I’m in the area! :)

I don’t know how they profit with giving away glass bottles and drinks but they seem like they’re doing great! The drink I got was a peach tea with boba and I also bought a cute panda mug from them. The drink was extremely sweet so I recommend getting less sweet if you wanna be more healthy. The mug also came with a free cup of hot tea but that was extremely sweet too :(
I especially like their setup here. From outside, the shop honestly doesn’t look like much but it’s really cute inside AND you can even play chess or checkers on a couple of their tables :) Don’t know if I’ll come back but I enjoyed my time here.
