Chocofin Fine Handmade Chocolates

I originally started frequenting this place a few years ago after some family members moved to Fountain Hills. Well, I no longer have family living in FH but am still a huge fan of this place. How much so? Well, I’ve decided that Chocofin is «on the way» from Mayo Clinic on Shea Blvd, and often now make a pit stop after appointments there. (Shhh, don’t look at a map… it’s really on the way, I swear.)
All of Chocofin’s chocolates are made from scratch in the shop and are fantastic. Chocolate truffles in the case can be bought à la carte or in a boxed custom assortment. A box of 12 is currently ~$ 17 or you can get a box of 24 for ~$ 32, which is pretty reasonable in my opinion – and definitely cheaper than Godiva, and higher quality & tastier chocolate to boot. I’ve gotten box assortments on several occasions and everything’s delicious: my faves are the salted whiskey caramel, Manjari, Zinfandel, coconut ginger, & s’mores. The s’mores one is interesting and strangely addictive; it has a piece of cinnamon graham cracker underneath the layer of marshmallow. I’ve also enjoyed their chocolate bars, which you can pick up by the counter.
If ice cream is more up your alley, they also sell gelato (though I haven’t tried it).
Hours are a bit limited (which is fine and to be expected of a small family business), so check the website before making the trek out to FH. Awesome chocolate shop & a great locally-​owned business to support.

The chocolates are quite delicious! While the ice cream didn’t seem to be anything special, the sundae option with fudge was pretty good. One of the only options for ice cream in the area. We’ve stopped in a couple times for both ice cream and/​or chocolates. I wish the service was a bit better.

Everything at Chocofin is delicious! Their chocolates are ALWAYS a welcome gift for a hostess or a thank you to nurses after a hospital stay. The employees/​owners are courteous and helpful. Also offers ice cream and desserts. Forget about calories — enjoy.

This is my go-​to place for a chocolate gelato fix — decadent! As a FH resident, I haven’t found many eateries I would miss if I moved, but this is one that I would try to travel back to. They make custom cakes, as well, and I can’t wait for an opportunity to order one. Maybe Halloween inspired cupcakes?

Very helpful! We ordered chocolates from them for an event and everything looked great. I called a few times with questions and everyone I talked to was very friendly and answered all my questions. Would definitely recommend!

Family owned gourmet chocolate shop, that also hand makes cakes, etc. Lou, Denise, & staff are knowledgeable, friendly, & helpful. Gelato is delicious too, though not made in house, but is locally made in AZ. Definitely worth a trip. Warning: once you try, you will want to come back often!!!

Delicious high-​quality artisanal chocolates… when they are open. Seriously, they are NEVER open… even when their own posted hours say they should be.

Saw the great reviews for this place and decided to stop in. I got something for my spouse, so I can’t comment about the taste. However, I was disappointed in the staff’s customer service. Like a couple of other reviews, I felt that while they were professional, but wooden/​sterile and somewhat unfriendly. I stood by the counter for quite some time (while staff tried to figure out who have to stop what they’re doing and help me).
For a confectioner with premium prices, the in-​store experience has to be much better.

COCONUT GINGER IS MY ALL-​TIME FAVORITE. Other must trys: whiskey caramel, turtle, Grand Marnier, Baileys, Mint, s’mores and vanilla bean caramel. The german chocolate cake is fantastic. Just go there.
Oh… they made this awesome power bark too.

Cannot wait to return this winter… their chocolate Pecan Pie is TO DIE FOR!

The BEST fine chocolate ever! I always ask my husband just for these chocolates for Valentine’s day. They are better than flowers or jewelery. I also give these chocolates as gifts and serve them to company. I like them all but I tend to lean towards dark chocolate so two of my favorites are the roasted raspberry and Grand Marnier.

I have never been a great chocolate lover, but I do love sweets and finely crafted food. Which is why after having tasted the chocolates from Chocofin, they are the only thing I put on my Christmas list this year! I recommend the sea salt caramel truffles and the red chili truffles. I have also tasted several cakes at different events in town and can honestly say that I haven’t found anything there that wasn’t wonderful.

Salted Whiskey Chocolate Carmel is amazing. They also make fantastic Christmas gift packs of chocolate and other treats.

Chocofin is an excellent place to buy chocolates. You do not need to go to Bruges to taste good chocolate. Owners are super friendly and the staff is also very nice. Cakes are very good my favorite are the cup cakes; they are not available all the time so if you see them buy them, yes, not only one, buy at least 3 after the first bite you will know why. The only bad thing is that I am not in Fountain Hills now to go and buy some. Oh well, I think I can order some.

Chocofin is the ULTIMATE chocolate destination. It’s affordable! It’s unpretentious! And it tastes amazing!!! They have the creamiest and freshest chocolate you will ever find — I think. I love how the chocolates are kept in a refrigerated case. Sometimes I eat all the chocolates in the car because I don’t want them to melt in the Arizona sun. I hope Fountain Hills people keep this place alive. I usually opt for a crappy foam box for my chocolates, but they do have a few options for nice gift boxes.
My favorite chocolates are the Hazelnut Croquantine (yummy crunchiness on the inside, glorious chocolate on the outside) and the Passion Fruit-​Blood Orange (it has this surprising center of «pâté» de fruit, which is a delicious solid fruit jelly and it’s covered in a delicate, thin layer of dark chocolate).
Try a whole bunch of ‘em!

Nice chocolate, great icecream… pitty that nobody behind the counter (3 people) actually looked like they wanted to be there at all! They were all pissy looking, not sure why. Maybe just an off day.
Go and try the icecream though (icecream was better than their sorbets), especially on hot days, you can take it down to the park and watch the worlds largest fountain on the hour.

This place has the BEST in house made on the spot chocolates that will make you come out for more! Honestly, this is a chocolate lovers paradise. A little hole in the wall but so worth the trip. They have more than just chocolates too. They have great looking deserts and Gelato. Hands down the best chocolates I have EVER had!

The greatest. I have friends on the West side who make me bring them Chocofin occasionally. Friendly, fantastic treats– highly recommended!

We used Chocofin chocolates for our wedding favors, and the owners were very friendly and accommodating. They’re extremely knowledgeable about the fine art of making chocolates, and it shows in every carefully crafted truffle or chocolate they make. They even have sugar free chocolates, which was an important factor for us since we had a few diabetic people at our reception. The chocolate raspberry and the banana macadamia nut are absolutely amazing! I highly recommend them.
