This place closed down. Too bad I liked coming here after work sitting with a view of the water and having a margarita. Oh well, I’ll have to find another spot but this place will be missed.

Farewell, Chevy’s in Foster City. Good luck to all who worked here. I always enjoyed the service, view, food, & atmosphere. I hope the best for this establishment. I went in to have an appetizer but walked away with a free appetizer from the manager who apologized that his business was shut down last night at 6:30pm. I guess all good things have to come to an end.

I heard this store is closing? Is this true, or will Chevy’s be changing locations? I have so many memories here and the food has always been fantastic! I have had many a birthday here and own many a sombrero thanks to this Chevy’s. Please say it aint so! I love you CHEVYS! And if you are closing I will miss your VERY fresh tortillas, the sizzling chicken fajitas and delicious strawberry daiquiris… please don’t close!

Came to Chevys Edgewater on a foggy Sunday for my wife’s birthday with a huge group and was lucky to get a table next to the water. Service was excellent! Not sure about the other critiques but our server, Paul I think was great. He had an awesome sense of humor, he was patient and attentive with our huge group. Food came out quick and every order was spot on. Overall experience was an A+. We will definitely come back again.

They have a happy hour here from 2 – 7 every day. The best thing about this Chevy’s is the location over the water. Otherwise, it leaves much more to be desired as far as quality of food and experience goes. The dining room and bar is just fine and spacious. The best part of coming here was the service staff. We were greeted and seated wherever we pleased. There was a nice spot on the end of the bar close to the water which provided a nice view with a flat screen broadcasting football. Our bartender was hustling back there, very attentive and just a cool guy. I’ve never been a huge fan of the food, but the queso con chile was pretty good dipping with the light, crispy tortilla chips and hot tortillas we ordered. I’m inclined to try more bar bites in the future. The only thing I really didn’t like was the menus were pretty grody with various grease marks and drink residue spilled on them. It’s not a very appetizing intro for a restaurant for patrons to have to be grossed out by a menu which is supposed to entice the appetite rather than curb it. This Chevy’s is okay though. Let’s see how the next time pans out. I hope they start wiping down their menus.

Change the oil you fry your chips in! Tried the chips tonight with dinner and they were inedible!

Really bad service, food is horrible and it’s very dirty and disgusting inside. Why would anyone pay for a meal when they can grab a can of beans, tortillia, chips salsa and avocado and make at home with little energy and it would be 100,000 times better. Really? Come on, this is the reason chain restaurants have such a bad name. There are so many local Mexican places in and around the area that are much better and you can take the food to go and eat on the bench outside of Chevy’s so you can have the beautiful view. I’d rather eat a can of cold beans than ever eat here.

My family and I have been regulars here for many years. The service is good and the food is always spot on. The flautas and mesquite grilled tacos have been a long time favorite. With that being said, I was disappointed when I discovered that all the bus boys had been laid off. Because of this, our waitress had to perform all the busing duties which was inefficient and hindered her ability to assist her tables. It’s discomforting to know that this establishment is willing to cut back on so many employees.

Just finished an amazing meal at Chevys in Foster City. Our server Paul was outstanding, especially considering we had a large party with a birthday girl, multiple seniors and an infant. Paul was very attentive and thorough. Due to our eclectic party we had everything from a baby crying to a spilled soda and he didn’t miss a beat. He nailed our orders, cleaned up the spill and still brought out the sombrero and sang happy birthday. A++++ sevice!

Food * | * Well this was disappointing. We ordered the Crispy Flautas and the Shrimp and Crab Enchiladas. The Flautas were crispy but also very tough and I couldn’t really taste anything other than the sauce they put on top. The Enchiladas were very oily and the seafood had an off taste to it. I understand that it may have come from a can, but they did not do anything to get rid of the out-of-the-can taste. The only saving grace to the food was the chips and salsa that they gave use when we sat down. These have been a Chevys staple for as long as I can remember. Service * Our service was horrible. It took a very long time just for the server to reach our table and when she finally did, she quickly took our orders and walked away. Mind you, the place was not packed at all, we were 1 of maybe 5 tables in the entire place. When she delivered our food, she put the plates down without a word and continued on her way. Over the course of the meal, she had never checked in on us and our water glasses remained empty until the bill arrived. To get the bill, I had to crank my neck over every 5 seconds trying to catch her eye so that she would come over. This took about 10 minutes.

Worst Chevy Iv ever been to! The server was(special) that wasn’t a problem. The food really sucked I ordered fajitas. The chicken was super super dry it was so dry it was curling up and there was barely any onions and bell peppers. I sent it back and figured you cant go wrong with their corn masa stuff I was wrong it was completely tasteless. We weren’t done eating and were rushed by our server to clear our plates because he was almost off and wanted us to pay the tab. There wasn’t another server assigned to our table we were just abandoned by him and no other server came to us to ask is if we needed anything for the next hour we were there ! That’s absurd I don’t drink more than one drink but my friends would have ordered a lot more drinks if we had a server. Really bad food and really bad customer service I will never got back to any chevys again

The reason to come to this Chevy’s is the view, hands down. It sits, literally on top of the water, as an islet of the Bay laps at the window not a foot from your table. The houses lined up around the islet are adorable. I could sit at one of those tables with a margarita and a bowl of chips and gaze out for hours. Which brings me to my second favorite thing about Chevy’s. Their chips. Thin, crispy, warm — and, free — the fact that I have to say this speaks to the sad expensification of restaurants on the peninsula. Yes. I just made up a word. We always get the shrimp fajitas, and they are usually fairly good and enough for two(non-voracious) eaters. They are served with a lavish garlic butter, and come on people, butter makes everything better. The stir-fried onions and green peppers are as often minimal and flavorless as edible, but the beans and rice are good, and my favorite part of this plate is actually the little maize garnish. There’s nothing spectacular about these fajitas, but there’s also nothing offensive, and they complement the view just fine. The margaritas are fine and not too expensive(~$ 7), which can make for a happy afternoon. I will say that I have had some off meals at Chevy’s, so it would seem the kitchen is sometimes inconsistent, and the food isn’t mind-blowing — hence the 3 stars, but this Chevy’s definitely has its place in our restaurant rotation.

I feel a little silly giving a chain like Chevy’s a 4-star review, but this location is pretty great! I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and have never had a bad experience. I really like the chips, salsa, and the chicken flautas. The restaurant also has a great view of the lagoon, so this would be a great place to come for drinks. I’m surprised at the many low ratings Chevy’s has received. It’s a Chevy’s, guys. Chevy’s is not a fancy establishment, so don’t come expecting the moon and the stars and I think you’ll be pleased with what this location has to offer!

I’ve tasted many Chevy’s foods at different locations and I have to say, their food ain’t my cup of tea. This review pretty much sums up my opinion at every Chevys I’ve ever taste and visited. Chevys franchise(I think) is smart at one thing, they always surround themselves with huge parking lots. I do not ever recall ever having trouble finding parking space. Like a lot of American restaurant, you enter through the double doors, someone greets you, you tell them how many people in your party and you get seated. The professionalism of the hostess was good and they presented a nice smile. Once seated(in an empty restaurant on a late afternoon) we placed our order with a gentlemen who was training a younger lad. I scanned my surroundings(outdoor on the patio) and I notice there was plenty of tables that haven’t been bussed. Drinks were iced down and the left overs were being devoured by seagulls. Not a happy environment for me I have to say. Our food arrived hot and sizzling. Smelled great… so I thought. I had the fajita dish and expected the beef to be full of flavor. Everything on my plate, besides the corn was bland. What a shame. However, I was not surprised –like I said, Chevy’s was never my top choice to have lunch nor dinner at. Luckily we had a gift card there so we didn’t really pay for anything. Verdict: It isn’t the worse place to eat, but definitely far from my favorite. I do not recommend anyone to Chevy’s at any location.

This review is only for the Bar. Last night a group of us went to Chevy’s for a night cap because Spices Bar was closed. Chevy’s had Margarita’s for $ 3.50. We ordered about 2 person that night. The flavor was good but the drink was weak. There was chips and salsa on the table which as OK. The Bar has last call at 11 pm and since we were the only table left we got left at 11:20 pm. Plenty of TV’s around the Bar. Service was good.

Only after this review did someone contact me; what a coincidence! Message as follows: «Jessica, thank you for your review. We really appreciate hearing from you. I apologize for the mistakes made in filling your order. I am going to bring your concern to the attention of our regional management team so that they can address the issues you raised. If you would you like one of them to reach out to you directly, please reply here with your email or telephone number so that they can get in touch. Again, I sincerely apologize to you. Laura» I replied over a month ago with my email address… and haven’t heard a word. Chevy’s blows! Worst customer service ever. You suck more than I ever realized. If I could give negative stars, I would.

I have a love-hate relationship with this place. I love their chips and salsa — they are endlessly addictive, love their guac — one of my favorites, and my two favorite dishes are their fajitas and Crispy Chicken Flautas. Seriously, I really like their food. I absolutely hate their service. It is CONSISTENTLY bad, whether it be for lack of staff, unnecessary wait for a table or their lack of wait staff service, I can only eat here once and a while because there service sucks so bad! Prices are reasonable, parking can be tough in this shopping center, and you know how I feel about the service!
