4.5 if there were half stars… Friendly, family owned, cheerful and welcoming with always good food and very good $ 1 cuppa.

They serve great food and the people are very nice. However the portion sizes are too small for the price. I ordered a sandwich for like 10 dollars and only barely felt full. Usually when I pay 10 dollars at a restaurant I expect to have some left overs so that I get my money’s worth

D and D catered the Fortuna Strong Community fundraiser event on February 27, 2015 at the River Lodge in Fortuna. The food was outstanding! Great salads, broccoli and pasta as well as a green salad. Delicious roast beef and rustic mashed potatoes. Two kinds of cake for desert. The hot food was hot and fresh considering they served close to 300 people. Excellent job Doris and Daughter(s)…I am looking forward to trying your restaurant in downtown Fortuna.

I had never been to Dorris and Daughters before so I was unfamiliar with how things ran. I wasn’t greeted with a smile or reassured very well. Being the only guest I felt like my food took a little to long but the food tasted good enough. I don’t think I’ll be returning. But if ok food and non existent service is your thing by all means take your chances

This is such a lovely place tucked away on a side street in Fortuna. Check it out. There are beautiful quilts on the tables and darling vintage décor. You order at the counter and find a booth to sit. We had a large Chinese chicken salad. It has an unusual but tasty dressing. They serve it with tasty beer bread rolls. All the desserts are homemade. They are caterers, so everything is homemade. I’m coming back.
