Friendly and attentive service. My server/bartender, Bree, was a gem. She made a great recommendation for the arugula salad, which I had been eyeing but couldn’t decide on, it was phenomenal. She made great suggestions overall from dinner to wine and dessert! Bree was wonderful and overall a very positive dining experience.

We loved this quiet, quaint place off the busy Omni lobby. Rachel earned this place the 5th star in the rating. She was extremely friendly and had an impressive knowledge of wine. She had a lovely rapport with regulars and yet made us feel like we were part of the group. Food was fine. It’s from Bob’s next door, so…[insert side eye here]. The tenderloin crostini was really delicious. We had a few other small plates not worth mention. But let’s face it. Come here for the wine. Try new things. Let Rachel teach you stuff.

Great location. I wish their wine list was better. I mean come on, you’re a wine bar! Menu — good selections but unless you know to ask you won’t know that the Bobs menu open to you It’s ok. Kent & company is better

Really nice and surprisingly quiet nook of the Omni Hotel… excellent beef, good salmon, and well-made martinis(in addition to the less-stout eponymous offerings). You hardly get any hotel noise, and it’s small enough to keep the place from getting too rowdy. Great for an informal get-together or casual meeting. Service was exemplary; knowledgeable about the menu, present without being overwhelming, and fastidiously friendly and polite. It’s not cheap, unsurprisingly, but there’s good value for what you spend.

There is seating outside with comfortable chairs which will allow you to smoke your cigar and enjoy your wine. Oh and I almost forgot!!! There is an appetizer and dessert menu available in the Wine Thief, courtesy of Bob’s Steak and Chop House. The calamari is delicious and the desserts are massive(bring a friend or two to help devour these sweets) Wine Thief is one of the Best Kept Secrets in Fort Worth! Where else can you find a secret hideaway, that serves such a selection of champagnes and wines, TX Whiskey(yes, other beer and liquor too), and has a Cigar Menu for the outdoor patio! BTW… did I mention Bob’s Steak and Chop House Desserts? Great friends, great wine, and Bob’s Desserts!!! On a Patio! In Fort Worth, Texas! With a cigar! I’m in HEAVEN! They have their own menu, but I’ve pretty much told you my bliss… ON a Patio! In Fort Worth! LOL! Plus… from the TIPS, Ryan F was correct… Rachel is the best! Certified Sommelier, knows her stuff(wines and scotches!), and can handle the entire room without even blinking! She truely is the best! This place is in the Omni! It’s for people looking to show how deep their wallet is… not for people sticking to their budget! So be prepared to pay… and tip well for oustanding service!

Very good high end place to get wine in downtown Fort Worth. I also enjoyed being able to go onto a street level patio and get some fresh and a good view of the street. Also has a great selection which I find more important than always having a perfect tasting wine.

Very upscale wine bar. It is in the Omni Hotel. There are no wine tasting flights, but just ask the server and they may be able to give some samples and average the price out per glass. Very nice wine selection. Great place to sit down and relax.

What a nice surprise inside the Omni hotel! This cozy space is great to catch a drink and catch up with your guests. Very nice wine list and the prices were actually quite reasonable.

Well Well Well… a hidden gem and a nice one at that! LOVE! Sexy Company and Great Wine. Plus Plus on my end! Décor is elegant and the big bar chairs are the kind you want to sink your life into and never get out because everything just feels right at that moment in time. Get in a parking garage… no street access… fyi.

Wine Thief is a cozy little wine bar situated on the first floor of the Omni Hotel. I really love the ambiance as it is usually dimly lit, a nice escape from the brutal Texas heat. For the more temperate fall and spring days, there is patio seating if you want to enjoy your wine alfresco. Since it is in the Omni, expect the prices to be a bit higher then they would at other wine bars. On their website, it looked like they used to offer ½ price bottles on certain days of the week but have discontinued that deal. I would appreciate some kind of happy hour special, so I can sample some of the even pricer wines! The staff was friendly and helpful and I witnessed one bartender handle a particularly difficult customer with ease and grace. Bar snacks are available from the neighboring restaurant, but like the wine be prepared to pay a pretty penny for them.

Far as I could tell no one stole anything directly, nor was there any sort of an investigation going on when I slipped in, menu in hand, to see what might possibly be happening with the current menu. All of the wine seemed to be present and accounted for. That said, occasionally these experiences are best borne out by the characters that you encounter, and there’s not much more entertaining on this planet than the guy in the Deep Purple shirt and the France hat(same font? maybe), who had nothing but constant unsolicited advice for our bartender from the time he sat down: about how they do things in NY, London, lots of opinions about napkins and vintages and protocol. It really was fascinating stuff, and were it that I could get a film crew and Dr. Drew in place in order to solve the matter that would have been one thing. But in this case we were relegated to a particularly patient barkeep and an otherwise mellow room. It made for grand people watching but my genuine guess is that most nights in here things tend toward relaxing — at the very least that seems to be the aim here, and it by my estimation means a little that they seemed to do as much local bidness this night as was charged to a room. It’s not a perfect arrangement: the Omni in general can still occasionally wax a little precious, but that wasn’t my experience here — the staff was attentive, pretty patient, and available. There may be no magic formula but the first step is being human. And this night, in Wine Thief, they were. No sirens necessary.

At first I was greeted with reserve(not so much w/the Texas friendliness that makes the heat somewhat more tolerable). I was VERY thankful for reading the Unilocal reviews because I learned about the ½ off bottles on Thursdays. When I sat down, I asked if there were any deals, and she told me no. Then I looked again on my phone and verified what other Unilocalers mentioned, and indeed it was Thursday, and there should have been a deal. I asked again, but was more specific, and she said, «oh yes, we have that deal, but only for people that know about it». Such total crap. I really don’t like when places do that kind of stuff. The prices are pretty high, and the fact that they are more than happy to screw over someone because they don’t know about the deal makes it more annoying. I’m not a fan. But I was chatted up by some of the other employees, the wine was good, the people-watching interesting, and the atmosphere pleasant. It would have made me really happy had they had a better wine list(some cheaper options), more food options, and a friendlier disposition since it was so close to where I was staying while in FW. As it stands, there’s no reason for me to return again during any future FW trips.

Uninteresting interiors inside the Omni Hotel but great patio, perfect for a date or a meeting with your girlfriends. It’s only wine, no cocktails or small plates, which sucks. They serve a good amount –has reasonable prices– in beautiful wine glasses.

Love this place! Perhaps it is because it is in within walking distance of where I live, or the awesome bartender, Bri! They have a great wine selection and knowledgeable staff. On Wednesdays they have ½ price sparkling wines and on Thursdays ½ price bottles. So, if you are concerned about cost, go either of these nights and take advantage of a great deal! Wine Thief pours 3.5 glasses of wine per bottle. For those of you that are concerned about value per glass… that means it is a pretty good value. Wine Thief also serves beer and liquor. This was not always the case. So for those non wine lovers; you’ve got options too. For those that smoke cigars; ask for the cigar menu. There is seating outside with comfortable chairs which will allow you to smoke your cigar and enjoy your wine. Oh and I almost forgot!!! There is an appetizer and dessert menu available in the Wine Thief, courtesy of Bob’s Steak and Chop House. The calamari is delicious and the desserts are massive(bring a friend or two to help devour these sweets) You never really know when this place will be busy or pleasantly quiet. A good rule of thumb; if there is a convention in town it most likely has a good sized crowd.

Wine Thief huh? That’s exactly what this wine bar is… a thief. The second star is for their honesty in having who they are in the name and for the great service. We stayed at the new Omni hotel in Fort Worth this past weekend and after checking in on a Friday night our group decided to grab a drink. Instead of going out, catching a cab or the trolley, we decided to stay in and check out the Wine Thief. The bar is small, clean and simple. It really is an attractive bar with about 14 tables and a half dozen seats at the bar with a few more tables outside. After looking at the menu we each began to look over our menu to see if everyone else was thinking the same thing… the prices that Wine Thief is commanding are ridiculously high. Looking at the menu a little longer I realized that every single glass of wine was exactly a third the price of the bottle. $ 80 bottle $ 26 glass. I am not one to shy away from paying for a great bottle of wine or dinner, but there comes a point of reason when it’s apparent that Wine Thief is taking their guests for fools. Ritz Carlton prices at the Omni. The ladies each ordered a flight of wine(Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc) which is the best deal on the menu. Four flights are offered, three of which are white and one red, so if you’re a red drinker you have one option. I stuck with a cocktail. One of the guys in our group is a wine collector and even he passed on the wine and opted for a cocktail as well. The service was outstanding. There was only one person working the entire room, granted it was just our table of six and another five people outside, but she took great care of us. We never waited for a thing and she was very helpful with the menu. The hotel was completely booked for the weekend and yet there was only one person scheduled to work Wine Thief, which tells me that even at capacity the hotel wasn’t expecting much business… maybe is the astronomical prices.
