The only reason I’m giving this place 3 stars is bc the 2 man band at 5pm on Saturday was very good. There was a harmonica player in the audience that really added to the music.(I’d go back just to listen to him). We left at 630 to go get dinner and returned at 8 to find the place a lot less crowded and the evening band came in to get setup and then there was a guy opening for a girl(who was suppose to start at 1030) but we couldn’t stay due to the cigar smoke. The cigarette smoke was not bad but they allow cigars and we just couldn’t take it after about an hour so our group(6 of us) left. We really liked the guy opening for whoever the girl was. I guess if I go back and the cigars are fired up, I’ll just have to leave.

Cool saloon. Its a smaller venue but some decent bands. Bartenders are friendly, drinks are strong. One of the few places that always charges a cover no matter how good the band is.

I love the place and the live bands that play there, but unfortunately all the smoke inside makes it impossible to enjoy those nice things. Your clothes and your hair smell after you leave, and it just feels unhealthy breathing all the smoke. I don’t expect it to change, so I now just take my friends from town and out of town somewhere else. Great cowboy atmosphere though.

Dirty, smokey and less than friendly bartender. We were not impressed and won’t be back again.

If you’re looking for an old west authentic saloon, this is your place. If you want something modern, clean, and smoke free, this isn’t your place. Small joint, but it has a lot going on. The dust inside is about as old as the building. They could stand to dust things off a bit, but I’m not sure that would help and might detract from the authentic feel. Several patrons around the bar. My wife and I sat at the table, which was preloaded with a menu. We finally figured out after waiting a while that we have to order ourselves. She really liked her Long Island Tea. I was the DD, so I had diet coke. Old hats adorn the walls with names of people I don’t recognize. Lots of white elephants are lined on one wall, which my wife found fascinating. The music was super old classic moldy old C&W, which seemed fitting. They have a place for a band, shuffle board, and a few other items smattered here and there. We didn’t buy any food, but did watch as some guys ambled in later and sat next to us, two big fellas. They ordered burgers. Looked rather like normal simple burgers, didn’t really find them too appealing looking, but the guys wolfed them down quickly and I never heard them complain. I would suggest you only come here for the food with the notion of ‘bar food’ in mind, not restaurant quality stuff. But in all fairness, I didn’t order the food either. Lady at the bar was friendly, busy. You can buy a t-shirt if you want on your way out. If you want old school antique ancient bar saloon atmosphere, it doesn’t get much more genuine than this. If you’re a clean freak, you might want to bring your sanitizer wipes, get over yourself, and enjoy a beer in the Stockyards.

This is a fun place to visit when in Ft Worth. There was a big rodeo even happening the day we came so it was packed. Great people watching, live country music, people line dancing, everyone dressed in their western gear. This is what I had imagined all Texas bars to look like. They have an old full size shuffleboard in the far back corner. There is a lot to look at in this bar, whether it’s the g’normous collection of white elephants adorning a few walls or the equally g’normous collection of hats with names of visitors past all over the ceiling.

We were STARVING! drove 45 minutes from Dallas to watch the rodeo and thought we could just walk into any restaurant and get a table for 8 with no problem. Well we were dead wrong. every place had over an hour wait and we were running short on time. this place was the only place we could actually get a table to sit in and almost kissed the waitress when she informed us that we could order burgers from the love shack next door(HOORAY!). After placing our order the waitress walked away and checked in on us for drinks every now and then. it was very busy but everything seemed to take extra long. after waiting an hour I asked about our food and she said we were the second order. Didnt know it was going to take so long for burgers from a «fast food» joint. this bar itself was pretty old and almost dirty? the bathrooms had electric wires running way to close to the sinks and water. but we didnt care as long as we could get food. the burgers were AMAZING but have to give credit to Love Shak who actually cooked the food. The waitress did the best she could. I think there should have been more waitresses on such a busy night. they had a large area for live music but none was playing while we were there.

Nice Texas Saloon just what we were looking for on our vist to Texas. Pool tables and rugged atmosphere. The staff was nice, but the locals were even better…

I cannot rave more about this place! The one negative thing is that they let you smoke! But it’s an old, great bar that has live music! You must go!!!

This place was fun with our group, but really I could take it or leave it. It smells like smoke and the band that was playing was not that great. If you’re looking for historic Texas I would tell you to hit up this place, but if you are looking for a fun bar to dance at then I would tell you to go somewhere else. Also, they have a shuffleboard table near the back that my boss enjoyed.

White Elephant had good service but this place was pretty tough on the senses. Very smelly, decrepit shuffleboard, filthy décor, and broken down pool table. We stayed a bit for the pool, but this could be way better of an experience.

My favorite Texas bar thus far. Historic, authentic wild west décor. Dark and atmospheric. It really does feel like being in a movie.

If you are a color other than white, stay away. A group of us were in the area sightseeing and stopped in for a drink after a rodeo. I’m an olive skinned Italian-America. My girlfriend is Thai. Our friends were a black couple. My black friend and I walked up to the bar and would not be served. The bartenders filled orders around us but never paid the slightest bit of attention to our attempts to be served. I’m from Chicago and have never, ever, felt discriminated against. On other hand my friend understood what was happening and suggested that we leave. That night was my awaking as to what my friend has had to deal with his whole life. Don’t give this place your business.

Dirty, dingy… old west type bar. The drinks were strong, the bartender was attentive, and we got to play shuffleboard.

Awesome open mic night on Tuesdays. Fun, festive and welcoming crowd full of friendly regulars. Bar staff is fast and stays on top of your drink replacements. Food from the Love Shack next door is easy and yummy. Great burgers and chicken nachos.

Absolutely horrible service… they serve completely obliterated people that are drunk off there ass. favor there regulars and bartenders are not friendly and they deliberately talk bad about people aloud to where others can hear them. The owner is unaware of these things… definitely a Bar Rescue!!!

This place was a lot of fun. It’s in the historic ft worth stock yards. I didn’t know that this bar was where walker Texas ranger was filmed, it’s even cooler to know that this was cd’s bar and grill. They decorated the place according to its name, the place was filed with white elephants from all over the world. They also have the ceiling covered with cowboy hats. They belonged to famous rodeo riders and champions.

This is a dark, texas-y bar. There are cowboy hats all over the walls, and ceiling — I’m not kidding — they are covering the entire ceiling. Apparently, that old show«Walker Texas Ranger» was filmed here. They sell t-shirts for that. They don’t have a lot of different beers on tap. I’m told the food is good, but I just had a couple beers. When you walk in you will find some harley bikers at the bar, some tourists who look entirely out of place, and maybe some guys with beards playing fiddle(there were two old guys playing on Saturday afternoon). Take your friend from outta state here — he’ll get a kick out of it.

This place has got some real charecter, class, and a wonderful warmth to it. It is unquestionably the most authentic cowboy bar you’ll find in the DFW area. Love this place, lots of fun

… the White Elephant Saloon has been named one of 100 Best Bars in America! You will also find a wonderful collection of elephant artifacts, statues and toys given to the bar by appreciative patrons from around the world. Country and western music is played every night. The food is the usual bar fare, made specifically to complement the drinks and entertainment. The cover charge averages between $ 5 – 10,or ‘bit more, depending on the band.

Touristenziel, aber trotzdem immer einen Besuch wert. Es gibt eigentlich immer Live-Musik(Country), leckere Getränke an der Bar, und natürlich ganz viele Hüte an der Decke, die man bewundern kann.
