I love to spoil myself with these appetizing cakes from The Cup. You can find there fresh and delightful products, amazing coffee-based drinks. Good place for meeting friends or just relaxation. The things I like the most are the good service and welcoming ambience. That is the reason why I visit it very often.

Not your hipsters coffee shop, caters to the dude bro yuppie types. First impression was a Bentley and a Porsche taking up 4 parking spots, in typical fashion. That being said, the coffee was good, and the lady running it was friendly and enthusiastic. A nice change of pace from Starbucks but there’s an up charge.

Over priced Pretentious Dog friendly is cool No wifi! Lots of grandiloquent females What ever happened to the quaint coffee house I frequented in the 80s and 90s? Well… this over priced coffee hocking joint ain’t it. They just charged me $ 5 for a iced coffee! The pretentious 40 something barista explained the expense, «I think the Italians know what they are doing.» If any one knows where the Blue Café on the Purdue Campus went, please let me know. I do have to say several over dressed, grandiloquent, eye candy type females came in and out. That’s cool depending on your mood. One inflated chick talked to the pompous coffee pusher about her plans to teach meditation in India; yet, the conversation quickly deflated into a blind date set up with some«starry eyed guy with long blond hair.» Now, overhearing that might have been worth the $ 5.

Great little spot in Arlington Heights! Coffee far exceeds your traditional Starbucks. They have some breakfast options too. You can eat there or get it To go. I’ve driven past a ton, but never went in until today. Highly recommend!

Found this place online & wanted to start our day trip to Ft. Worth here. What an exceptional place! The café is pretty inside, with a chandelier & a photo-lined hall leading to a back patio. The woman behind the counter was super friendly & quick with our drinks. The coffee & sausage bagels were excellent. Very pet friendly place with dog bowls out back & doggie treats at the counter. Hard to imagine a better first experience with a coffee shop. What a great find!!!

Nancy is awesome! She welcomes you with a big smile and is always so energetic. The coffee is delicious especially when paired with a mini banana bread loaf(and your choice of nut topping). Wine at night, I choose The Sip over Winslow’s any day. The selection of wine fits my palate, I love French wine. The Sip offers wines you can’t really find anywhere else, maybe Central Market, at a great price. The back patio is quite and perfect for morning or evening. Also, gotta try the«weed» water, so refreshing(changes with whatever herbs are fresh). Dog friendly, too!

The Cup is a great local coffee shop right around the corner from my house. If you enjoy taking sips of a wonderful hot steamy latte, I would definitely come here. Nancy’s(owner) chai’s are delicious… much better than Starbucks of course. I love how Nancy knows each of her customers and makes it truly a neighborhood coffee shop.

I love this place, and the owner is one of the friendliest people you will ever meet. Small and quaint… you feel like you’re out of the rat race. Great coffee, and if you’re in the mood, a nice selection of wine. Stop in and enjoy. You won’t regret it.

We just stopped in for a quick cup of java. Yummy mocha latte… better than Starbucks any day. The shop is decorated so nice and quaint. We did get to have a bite, but we enjoyed the coffee. The young woman making our drink was nice and promptly took care of us. In Fort Worth… nice place to stop for a coffee.

Omg. I worked out at Smart Barre and decided to go into The Cup since I’d never been there. I ended up just ordering a cup of coffee and asked for almond milk because I had a dairy allergy. $ 4.37 later. I want to make a point to say this was NOT a custom coffee. I get it if it’s a latte or something but literally she ran out of coffee in one container and went to the next one and poured it out of the carafe. I will never be back for coffee. The exact same coffee at Starbucks costs me $ 2.32. If someone can explain the difference to me please let me know. I also want to note that I did look at the board. It said large coffee $ 3.39 so I knew it was going to be more expensive than Starbucks but when it rang in even a $ 1 higher for some almond milk instead of regular milk or cream which would have been nothing I was surprised. They also serve wine and snacks at night. I haven’t been but they said if you buy a bottle of wine then another to take with, you get 40% off that bottle. That’s really no difference than going to Max’s Wine Dive and they up charge for your wine you drink there then give you about the same discount if you buy one togo, no matter if you bought a bottle while you were there or not.

Cute but overpriced. Just over $ 10 for a sandwich and chai. Both are pretty good(small) but this is not the study café I had hoped for. More a business meeting kind of café. Old school. Friendly woman behind the counter who seems to know the neighborhood. No WIFI!!!

One of the best lattes I’ve ever had. A little on the pricey side, but well worth it. The coffee tasted extremely fresh and the barista was very sweet. They also have Stevia, which was a major plus! I’d like to see more done with the interior, but overall a great place to stop in and grab a ‘cup’.

The Cup is very cute and the barista charming. She seemed to know everyone and was enthusiastic to hear how they were doing. They have a chalk board menu and a note stating that all drinks can be made iced. She let me know I could order off menu and that she could make anything. I ordered my coffee black and was pleased with the rich flavor and impressed that it was flavorful yet light enough not to warrant cream and sugar. They allow dogs per se but sadly someone stole their outdoor tables and chairs.

The Cup is relaxed, orderly and quiet. The perfect place for reading a book on the comfy couch or catching up with a friend. Their coffee is prepared with care by very polite baristas who are willing to go the extra mile either by whipping up some latte art in your drink or bringing you your sandwich(despite being a counter-service establishment). The drinks are well made and authentic– they aren’t messing around here with burnt espresso or too much syrup in your coffee. My favorite thing about the cup is the décor. The focus of the shop is the espresso bar, with a huge mirror bouncing light throughout the whole place. Something about the simpleness of the decorations makes me feel more relaxed as soon as I walk in. They also don’t have Internet, which can be a bad thing for some, but is something I would have like back when I was procrastinating online instead of studying for the Bar exam. My only critique of The Cup is they could go more with their outdoor patio. I would love to see some plants or enclosures to make it more in sync with the interior design.

The Cup is a small, European-style café housed in what used to be The Bluebonnet Bakery. As other reviewers have mentioned, The Cup has a much different feel than corporate Starbucks or hipster Avoca – you wouldn’t stop by to pick up a latte on the way to work, nor would you come here to listen to indy music or see cool art. That being said, I really appreciate the simple décor, friendly and attentive barristas, and general ambiance. This is a place to meet a friend for coffee and chat for a few hours with minimal distractions, and enjoy a sandwich, pastry, or coffee treat. When I stopped by this afternoon, there were two Italian men enjoying conversation and a cup up coffee on the front patio… that’s pretty legit! What I like about The Cup: * Their patio is dog-friendly, and they sell dog treats at the front! * Delicious sandwiches – I had the Vegetarian today and the cheese was amazing, as was the side corn/bean salad. * Tasteful Italian and Bossanova music playing at the perfect noise level(loud enough to appreciate, quite enough to be part of the background). * Plenty of natural light * I haven’t tried the coffee yet(it was sooooo hot out today, I really wasn’t in the mood), but my friend said her latte was delicious. Our barista even provided her with coffee ice cubes for her super hot coffee so as not to water down her drink. My gripes about The Cup: * Awful hours – they’re only open from 8 – 5! This means that if you have a job with normal hours(me), you can only stop by on Saturdays. It looks like their main clientele are«ladies who lunch» and retired people. If that’s you, then this is probably a big win. * No wifi – not a real gripe, I actually think it’s cool that The Cup is committed to providing friends with a meeting place and a good cup of coffee, but with so many UNT-HSC grad students just a few blocks away, they’re really closing themselves off to an entirely new group of clientele. I had a nice experience at The Cup today, and will likely stop by again if I’m free on a Saturday.

I hate to be harsh but I was expecting a great latte from The Cup. The place is really cute and has great, friendly customer service but I did not enjoy my coffee one bit. It tasted extremely watered down and bland. It was almost like I ordered water instead. Also, their large size was almost $ 6 which is pretty expensive for me. Sorry but I don’t think I will be coming here again.

…SO I already know, love, and appreciate the commercialized, glossy appeal of a Starbucks; and then the homegrown, take-it-or-leave-it alternate of your local hipster coffee joint, but this… this a very different cup of coffee ;) Avoca is right up the street — it has a grittier warehouse feel to it — exposed floors and ceiling; glass wall where you can get a behind-the-scenes look at the beans being roasted; etc. The Cup, on the other hand, has more of a continental European feeling to it. Wafers are served with your drink, which is made using espresso beans imported from Italy. Delicious coffee, and I love the wafer — a little presentation goes a long way. It’s a fairly small café with a quiet atmosphere and bright, clean prints on the wall(as opposed to local artwork). While Avoca is a place I’ll go to work, or read, The Cup is a great place to go and lounge or chat. Enjoy!!!

The Cup is more cultured, polite, clean, and charming than hip, fun, or hip-ster. Which is hardly to say that it’s bad. Far from it: the coffee and pastries are excellent, the staff is friendly, the service is prompt(and superior – I honestly didn’t comprehend what was happening when the server brought my coffee to me instead of just calling out my name), and the décor is charming and stylish. It is not, however, what the modern college kid/coffee shop junkie might expect. There’s no wi-fi, and the most modern music tends to be the sleeker tunes from the 1950s at the latest. In short, it matches its clientele, which appears to consist mostly of the middle aged(to somewhat older) ladies and gentlemen who enjoy taking the Lexus down to have a cup and maybe do a little reading or have a polite conversation. Suffice it to say that this is not the spot for sleeve tats, jorts, and Pitchfork-approved«non”-hits. Neither is it open late. The place closes down at 5 pretty much every day, so despite the fact that most of the tables are«for two,» a first date here would probably be out of the question other than on the weekend. However, it is conveniently proximate to the cultural district, so it’s hardly the worst place insofar as that’s concerned. That said, it does seem like this would be a great place to get some work done(this is directed at you, oh suffering UNT med and Wesleyan law students). The music’s set at a volume that calms without distracting, and no internet means no facebook/failblog/youtube cats.(Unless you have a smartphone, etc., etc.). Besides the usual fair of coffee and pastries, The Cup serves a number of breakfast and lunch sandwiches(which I didn’t try, it not being mealtime). However, there are few if any electric outlets, which is practically heresy in our laptop-addled age. In sum, this place is great if you’re looking for what they offer. And if you’re not? It’s a change of pace, and it’s miles above the best Starbucks.
