I used to go to this place about twice a month, but on a recent visit after about a year absent it felt like I was at the Chuck E. Cheese of seafood. Little kids screaming, running around, and climbing the barstools on a Saturday night. I decided to leave after my app. and one beer to go have dinner among grown folks. The staff could not have cared less.

Just came here and had the best cold shrimp, oysters, big cold schooner of shiner bach, and it was the best of everything! Great little bar with great fresh seafood

We came here on a Sunday afternoon to try it out. The place wasn’t too packed. We got an order of the calamari, half dozen oysters, oysters Rockefeller, and oysters Laredo. Service — the moment we walked in we were greeted. The girls were super friendly and attentive. The two stars are actually for them. Calamari — when she brought them out I thought maybe they were clam strips. They’re literally strips, don’t expect the usual calamari. They were thick in batter and plain. I had to squeeze two lemons for some flavor. Pricey for what we got. Oyster Rockefeller — I wanted to like these but they were a disappointment. Too much Parmesan cheese. The whole bottom of the pan was covered with cheese. The spinach was bland and super watery. Pricey for what we got. Oyster Laredo — this was way to cheesy. It would be good without it. Watch when you’re eating one because you think they would have the oyster underneath the melted cheese but me and my boyfriend were both missing one. Pricey for what we got.

we had lunch here today based on the reviews. we had the raw oysters and grilled catfish tacos with rice. i had a glass of merlot. the food and service(kat) were wonderful. The atmosphere was rather cold and lacking. the owner/chef was extremely nice. we felt the prices are somewhat high. we would recommend.

Always love this place. Seafood is served fresh. Frosty mug beer and Margarita taste as expected. Friendly servers every time. Sit at the bar, a high top, booth or outside. Get the oysters and shrimp you won’t be disappointed…

We had a late lunch, early dinner here. My husband and I had drinks first. He had beer and I had rum and coke. His beer was nice and frosty, my drink however, was hardly a drink. It was in a tiny glass and I detected ZERO alcohol. The next drink I ordered was a double, this time I may have detected a hint of alcohol. I again ordered another double. Believe me, im not a big drinker so after drinking what amounted to 5 drinks on an empty stomach, I felt nothing. Not tipsy or warm and fuzzy. I asked twice if my drink had any alcohol in it, you’d think the server would get the message. That wasn’t the worst part of the visit, it was the food. It was pretty bad. We ordered fried combo plates. The shrimp and catfish tasted and smelled very fishy and not at all fresh. The oysters were very small and tough and the clams were inedible. If you want a cold beer in a frosty mug, this is your place, but if you want anything else, forget it.

My sister wanted to try out the shrimp cocktail & I’m trying out the oysters. Hope it’s delicious. I’m starting out with water, glass of Chardonnay & my sister a schooner of Coors light. Waiting for the main entrées. Delicious! !

LOVE this place! Homegrown with clearly family members working the place. Sat at the bar with my boyfriend and watched them prepare my food and shuck my oysters(fresh)! I got the grilled fish tacos, which I loved! They even let me get 1 out of the 3 fried/battered :) The day we went, the shipment of oysters they received had small oysters so they gave us more than what we ordered(dozen) to compensate! Same with the rockefellers. Great service! Would recommend, would return.

What a surprise! Had Oysters Rockefeller and fish tacos. Oysters were an 8 out of 10 and tacos were great. Fish on soft tortillas with pico de gallo and avocado with sauce. Entire staff was friendly and ready to serve. Ordered vodka with a splash and that is exactly what I got. Nice to always get what you order.

Had lunch here today. Great waitress ! Excellent fresh oysters and the fried shrimp was greatness. Coleslaw was very tasty as well. French fries were average and the stuffed crab tasted frozen. We saw two other tables get the shrimp cocktail which I will have to come back and try it looked way better then I have seen served around here … The prices were a little expensive for the atmosphere but I feel like the food made up for it. We will for sure go back.

Disappointed. Had the calamari and it was thick and very bland, next had the oyster Loredo and the sauce tasted like catsup. Finally oysters on the half shell, sauce again bland, shell in most of the oysters, horse radish was a joke. Looked forward to going there and will not go back again.

Texas Pit Oyster bar is a quaint little Rockin bar that has some good oysters! Hubby & I just happened to be in Ft Worth visiting around the corner & decided to get our oyster fix on! WOW! What a pleasant surprise. The place was buzzing, there were people hangin at the bar getting their drink on & people sitting in the booths slurpin down oysters & shrimp. We grabbed a booth & ordered a couple margaritas, the peel & eat shrimp & a cup of gumbo & salad with two oysters Rockefeller. The margaritas were great so we ordered up some Patron shots which came right away, our waitress was awesome. The peel & eat shrimp were giant super fresh gulf shrimp, just like we have when we go down to Port Aransas. Freakin fantastic. The salad was simple but super fresh. I asked for oil & Vinegar but the waitress says they don’t have any?! Hua?! A oyster bar that has no vinegar?! Cardinal sin. So I asked for some lemon on the side for my salad. The gumbo did not have a dark enough Roux. It was too light in color & had a strange flavor. I would not order it again. The oysters Rockefeller were very good. Shucked & cooked perfectly, with just the right amount of spinach, parma cheese & crispy bacon on top. The oysters were still the show here & not the toppings. Will def return for the oysters Rockefeller. However, I don’t understand how you can serve oysters on the half shell & not serve vinegar/shallot vinegar on the side as most oyster places do. Cardinal sin. Note to owner/Chef: Please provide some vinegar for your oysters on the half shell & for your nice little fresh salads & I will update my review next time :) See you soon.

Compared to other options in the area for seafood, this place is far and away the front runner. Generous portions of yummy food and decent prices. The gumbo is ok, but their oysters are always tasty and fresh. I heart the grilled fish tacos. Good drink specials. Friendly staff. I feel like if we went more often they would know us like Norm @ Cheers. Maybe I need to make that happen… haha!

I’ve driven by this place a lot and finally decided to grab something to go. I’m a huge fan of their bbq in Saginaw so I had expectations that they know what they’re doing. I had the fried catfish filet and a cup of seafood gumbo and they both were very good. The catfish was cooked perfectly and the gumbo has to be somebody’s family secret recipe. I’m looking forward to my next visit.

Sorry Guys and Gals but this is NOT going to be a good review:/ We saw the good reviews on the map and decided to try this spot. ALL the food tasted frozen and fried, none of the shrimp was deveined and even the cheesecake was freezer burnt. We would have been better of going to Long John Silver! I can say that the people at the bar, NOTEATING, looked like they were having a great time… I am now convinced it is the bar people writing any sort of halfway good review!!! $ 85 for 5 people… And as a side note… I had to go out of my way to download Unilocal just to write my first review in an attempt to SAVE you from a waste of time… Sorry again but someone has to say something about this place!!!

My first visit good. I ordered a beer and a whole fried catfish. The bartender was really nice and attentive and the food was great! My second and third visit was terrible. I had a different bartender(same both times). She was rude and thought she had was the S***! No, I’m the customer and you’re the server. I respect you and you need to respect me. I felt like she didn’t like me because I wasn’t the typical biker bar type and I wasn’t white. She may not be racist but at least I felt like I was being discriminated. One of the conversations went like this… The bartender was talking to her waitress and the waitress ordered a beer for her customer. The bartender ask the waitress to say something she wanted to hear for the beer. The waitress said«you look gorgeous today!» The bartender said ok that’s good and then got the waitress the beer. I then jokingly said is that what it takes to get a free beer? The bartender said«who said that was free?! I didn’t say that was free!» From then on everything that was ordered(beer) I was given an attitude. I felt so unwelcomed there and never went back due to my feelings of being discriminated. I paid my bill and not a single word came out of that rude bartender. I love seafood and they would of had my business frequently but because of this waitress I don’t care to go back. This waitress was caucasian. I’ve seen 3 bartenders there. 2 Caucasians and an African American.

Came here because it was walking distance from my mom house, since we are here visiting and needed to get some food figured I would give this place a try. It had a big sign saying they offer crawfish so we had to go try it. The service wasn’t too bad it wasn’t too busy but we got waited on pretty quickly. The menu is pretty decent not too much to choose from but definitely it’s not small either. We got a dozen oysters and a pound and a half of crawfish to start. The oysters weren’t too bad, the crawfish was delicious but kinda pricey I would say it was because it’s a couple weeks before the actual crawfish season. But definitely really delicious crawfish. Got the pick three platter and that was a great deal!!! Ended up with fried tilapia, grilled catfish, fried clams and fries. Everything was pretty awesome it was really flavorful and the clams were fried just right. Not like long john silvers were it’s super salty and full of msg, the clams were just right. The pick three platter is way better than ordering things individually so go with that and if that’s too much food go with the pick two. Overall everything is really good would want to try more things maybe for the next trip we can swing on by and get more food. But definitely worth giving it a try if you are near by. Why not 5 stars everything was good but not great but definitely worth coming back.

This restaurant is tops with me. I am in love with the grilled fish tacos. I sampled the Seafood Gumbo and it is delish! Everyone is super nice and remember you with a welcome smile when you return. Five stars in my book on value and quality for the price as well as great cleanliness and service.

Tried the Texas Pit Oyster Bar for the first last week during a business luncheon for four people and left the establishment somewhat impressed. Although I did not have the oysters this time, I was quite surprised to see how large of a quantity that you get for a reasonable price. So large was the quantity that my business associate had to get his oysters to go! The bar itself is very clean and comfortable. The food prices seemed to be very reasonable, and it was not terribly loud given the fact that the television was on and that there were dining customers. The server was very nice and courteous and made recommendations on a very good Calimari appetizer(the best that I’ve had in Fort Worth so far) as well as entrees such as fish tacos. I’ll certainly return for lunch.

Love this place. So happy a oyster place opened up close to my house! The staff is super friendly, the restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is perfect for watching a game and slurping back some oysters after work. Oysters are big and decently priced. The grilled tilapia fish tacos are the tits! Three large ones comes with the order and the chipotle sauce that comes with it compliments the fish and toppings perfectly. My boyfriend gets the fried catfish every time and for a good reason. Thick and perfectly breaded filets. The only downside is that they close at 9pm on week nights. I am not sure if it is because they are fairly new and don’t know how busy they were going to be. Regardless, we will continue to be returning customers!
