I really like this cute little shop, the Barbocoa and the carne tacos are pretty good. The prices are super reasonable and the location is a little hidden but not hard to find. The cashiers are nice and friendly, the salsa is pretty good too.

Tried to find a good, cheap taco place so looked on Unilocal and found Tacusa! I tried their street tacos($ 1.50) and they have meat options of asada(beef), pollo(chicken), lengua(tongue), pork, and a few others. They also have tamales, pupusa, and other Spanish foods. There’s a salsa bar with a few mild salsa options, a spicy salsa, cilantro and onions, pickles onions, and limes that were a little too dry. I admit the street tacos were a little greasy, but I enjoyed it nonetheless with a cup of horchata. Three tacos, a tamale plate, and a horchata for under $ 15 sounds great to me! Don’t forget there’s specials everyday also on the board when you walk in.

Thank you, Unilocal! We were in the area, looking for somewhere to have dinner, and Unilocal came to the rescue by leading us here. It’s a small place, no frills. The food is reasonably priced and it’s delicious. I was indecisive on what meat to get in my burrito, so the girl working the register went in the back and brought out a sample of 3 of their meats for me. So thoughtful! I ended up getting a pork burrito and it was exactly how I wanted it to taste. Hubby got fajitas and they were really good, as well. They have a salsa bar, which is nice, but the selection was mild, mild, «not spicy», and hot. Kind of odd, but who cares. We will be back again and again. I really want to try some of those papusas!

I had high hopes for this place. First the cashier is slow and doesn’t speak much English. That’s no issue because I speak Spanish. Then I quickly figured out it wasn’t that she didn’t understand English very well, it’s that she is lost. We finally got the order done. The wife and I ordered tacos and the kids pupusas and quesadillas. Since I got street tacos I wanted some lime. My wife asked if they had any the the lady was confused. So I asked for some in Spanish and she didn’t know what a lime was. She pointed and said they only had lemons Tacos had zero flavor. It was cooked meat and tortilla. That’s it. My American wife cooks with more spices and flavors. Rice was the same, no flavor. Tried the kidos pupusas and same thing. It was corn meal, cheese and meat. If you like bland food with little to no flavor than this is the spot for you.

I don’t understand how this place is in business. I rarely feel so inclined to leave a negative review, but this calls for it. Firstly, the service. Terrible. The cashier was a young girl, maybe about 16, incredibly rude. Rolled her eyes at me. The food. One word. GREASY. I’ve also never had meat so overcooked it formed jagged edges which stabbed me in the mouth. The flavor was bland. Too salty. There were no fresh limes. The super religious music made me feel really uncomfortable. Definitely won’t be back.

****This is an updated review**** As time has passed, this restaurant has become more popular, rightfully so because the food is good. One would think that gaining popularity and with the increase of patrons they would hire more people; however, it appears that they have been understaffed for a while. I now see long lines, long waiting times for food, and I’ve gotten the wrong order a time or two. Some of the staff they do have, like some of the girls taking the food orders at the front, seem put off by their job. They appear to be unhappy that you are bothering them and that they have to take your order. Customer service is a big part of the restaurant business. The food is still good, but this restaurant needs to invest in more employees. If they can’t hire more employees, they should at least make sure the ones they do have don’t have a terrible attitude and make customers feel like they are a bother.

This place should get 6 stars for the price /value ratio! So under priced for the delicious food! Papusas are extra cheesy, tacos made to order that do not skimp on the meat and the salsa bar was plentiful! Seriously we had 3 tacos &4 Papusas for under $ 13!!! So yummy! I sure wish they had their liquor license, but then I would never leave this place. Love Tacusa!

Loved their Papusas & tacos! Everything was fresh and flavorful. Biggest complaint is everything takes awhile and the pazole was very bland. It looks flavorful but that was deceiving. Lengua was soft and pastor was full of flavor. Also Tried their pork Papusas(forgot the name of meat) and the pickled cabbage it came with and it was delicious. All the mixed flavors complimented one another. Going back to try other menu items!

It was a burger joint last time I came, tacos now!.. Plenty of parking, order at the counter and they bring your food to the table when it’s ready. Service was good and food was fresh but tacos just didn’t have a lot of flavor, wife liked her pupusas, give ‘em a try, daily specials.

Street tacos are amazing. But the pupusas will make you sick – only because you will want to eat your weight in them. They are so freakin’ incredible. It helps and hurts that the tacos and pupusas are super cheap. God help you if go on Tuesdays or Wednesdays because they are cheaper still. Can’t wait to bring my family of nine back here.

Excited to see a new original restaurant in the area, so took the family to give Tacusa a try. I really wanted to like it better, but the flavors were just lacking. I got what was essentially a sampler platter, so I could get a good idea of the fare and of everything, I liked the Papusas the best. The rest was, unfortunately, a bit bland. Most of the meats were dry and somewhat tough. I would have the Papusa again, but I don’t think that I’ll return just for those. I hope it picks up, because I’d like to see a place like this stay in business.

Extremely authentic mom and pop join. Nicer diggs than most. This place is a little more Salvadorian than Mexican. Funny thing is that the further south you go, the milder the food gets. This is why most of their sauces are very mild. My mom is a HUGE fan of this as she LOVES salsa, but doesnt like the heat. This is one of the very few authentic taco places in the area. They have Mexican drinks/sodas(along with the American) that comes in cans/bottles(kinda expensive). I might just have to get my stuff to go and drive to McDonalds and buy a soda there(end my meal with ice cream or apple pie) We had Pupusas: pork/cheese(my fav), chicken/cheese Tacos: pork, asada, tongue, bbq(tongue/bbq my fav) They’ll do a corn or flour shell. I prefer the corn, but the flour was might good. UnliKe most flour tortillas(which are almost as thick as pitas) it was extremely thin. Its very nice to have something decent in the area and I look forward to trying more.

The tacos were amazing. I came here on taco Tuesday when street tacos are only $ 1. I got 2 tongue and a pork, the flavor of the pork was really tasty and the tongue tacos were nice and tender. I think they are a little smaller than the standard taco because the tortilla is smaller but it’s still filled with lots of meat. The street tacos here didn’t already come topped with onions and cilantro, you put that on at the little condiment bar they have. Shortly after eating my first taco I did find a nice pile of sautéed onions which were really good. We also ordered chips and salsa with our tacos and the salsa was super watery, I won’t buy it again. The strange thing was, it tasted like it was really good salsa once and then they realized that they needed more so they added water. The salsa was bland but spicy. So I’m thinking they added too much water, there’s no way it was tomato juice. We also ordered a side of rice and it was nice, could use more flavor and a little more cooking time in my opinion. The condiment bar was nice. They had all the salsas there and little containers, there was lime, lettuce, picked pink something?, roasted peppers, slaw, and cilantro with and without onions. I always top my tacos with verde sauce and the verde sauce here isn’t spicy. The tacos here are really great and I’ll come back.

My brother who accompanied me the first time apparently loved this place because he’s gone back several times. I’ve tried a few other items since then and its growing on me. The revuelta pupusa is definitely my favorite now. I’ve had better pastor tacos though. The corn tortilla that they use is just too tough(right word?) I’ll have to try the barbacoa tacos next, on flour ;-)

I have been here twice, and both times, the food were pretty bomb. On both occasions, I ordered tacos. The tacos aren’t really greasy compared to some other places, and they’re super delicious. PLUS, they’re only $ 1.50(or $ 1 on Tuesdays)! After ordering, the food will usually come within 5 – 10 minutes, and is ready to be eaten after you get your condiments. Man, am I glad this place is in such close range to my house. Taco tuesday will be a newly added routine for me.(:

1 visit so far for lunch and most likely the first of many. It was Tuesday… Taco Tuesday so street tacos(meat in a tortilla) were $ 1 each. There was no skimping of meat either. I tried the Barbacoa, Pork and Beef. All 3 were delicious, especially after dowsing with some house-made salsa, cilantro, onion and grilled hot-peppers(serrano maybe?) I look forward to exploring the rest of the menu

I was bored and feeling a little nostalgic last week, so I got in my car and went for a drive. My twins will be 6 in 2 months! 6 years ago, I lived in the fossil creek/western center area, so I wanted to see what changed, what’s new, what’s not there.etc. The kiddos were conceived there. I remember hobbling down 3 flights of stairs at the amli 3 months pregnant, then moved closer to the hospital, and eventually made our way to our own home in SWFW. Smack dab on the FW-Crowley line. Boo. Anyway, with the construction I was all kinds of confused and ass backwards and finally found N Beach Street. Seen familiar places, new places, and places that are long gone! Anyway, I’m rambling. Tacusa. Tacos and Pupusas. I had this place bookmarked so I wanted to give it a try. They are pretty cheap. $ 1.50 street tacos and on Tuesdays they are $ 1. I got the barbacoa and beef tacos. I liked that they had a salsa bar. I can put my own onions, cabbage, cilantro, and salsa on my tacos. The cabbage reminded me of Salsa Limon’s. I also got the chicken pupusa and beef. I didn’t care for the chicken. I did like the beef. I got the kids pupusa, but in case they didn’t like them I got them fajitas. They have a few mexican and Salvadoran plates. Kids of course liked the pupusas and the fajitas. Lol. I tasted the fajita meat. It was decent. A tad bit salty though. No waitress service here. You order at the counter and you take a number. Seat yourself and they will bring you your food. I asked the girl at the counter what Yuca con Chicharron’s is. I’ve had it before in Florida, so I knew, but I wanted to know for sure. She didn’t know what it was and pointed to the flautas on the pictures on the wall. No. She had to ask someone and I got clarification. Let me just stick with the papusas and street tacos here. If I lived in the area, I’d probably be eating here all the time.

Nice spot in crowded area parking is good size lot so easy to get in and out. This was our 1st visit and we will be back Tuesday is 1 dollar street taco Wednesday is 1 buck for the papusas 1.50 rest of week, salsa bar was well stocked and the salsa was fresh the aroma was refreshing. We ordered street taco’s corn tortilla with Torta de milanesa the street taco’s were awesome but greasy I like them like like others might not, the Torta was ok I prefer sliced skirt steak rather than cubed meat but it was good and filling . The only drawback was the temperature inside the air condition needs to be set cooler to provide better comfort yes it’s hot out but I prefer to dine @ around 76 degrees

good location, not shady and plentiful parking. sign is easy to see driving by. Definitely glad this place opened up! Service was extremely slow. There were maybe 3 small tables of people(2 – 4 people/group) including us. Maybe a couple of to-go orders. But jeez… it was slow. I don’t know if it was just one cook back there or what. Or maybe pupuas just take forever to make? We went on Wednesday, $ 1 pupusa day. Ordered the pupusas, and a steak torta. Here, the pupusas had a few more meat filling options than other restaurants, i.e. chicken or beef. Usually we only see beans, pork or loroco. The pupusas aren’t the best we’ve had, but it definitely cured my cravings! Tortas are okay too… not on my top 5 list. But next time I want to try with a different meat. Maybe pastor or barbacoa. The steak was plentiful, but wasn’t flavorful. and I didn’t get that buttery toasted/grilled bread taste either that I usually noticed. the avocado was measly. One small tiny slice for the whole sandwich. But the fries are delicious with their yummy tasty seasoning on it. My hubby kept stealing all my fries. I will have to order him a separate plate of fries. They are the thin cut, crispy fries, not steak or thick cut. I absolutely love the salsa condiment bar. Saves me time asking for everything and making me look high maintenance. Now I can get all the pickled cabbage or hot sauce I want!!! Yay!!! and they keep the salsa condiment bar full and clean. They even wrote out little signs labeling the sauces«mild, medium, or hot» and other items that some people may not know what they were, like the pickled cabbage which I still don’t remember what it’s called. Definitely coming back for tacos and more pupusas!
