This place is amazing! The brunch was delicious and servers were very genuine. I had the French Toast with caramel sauce Applewood bacon and fruit. Cudos to shaws!

My wife and I have been to Shaw’s twice, and we love it. Especially if you go to the hamburger happy hour on Tuesday or Thursday. It’s a crazy good deal. We love their big tex burger the best, but they are all good. Compared to the competition, This place is way better than Tommy’s, but not as good as rodeo goat

Shaw’s is one of the older establishments on the recently trendy Southside/Magnolia strip. Their food is decent, the restaurant is fun, and the service is awesome. I’ve had hamburgers their twice, and neither time was very memorable. Not bad, but certainly not the type of burger Fred’s, Rodeo Goat or Dutch’s serve up. The fries are pretty mediocre as well.

Not only does Shaw’s have great food, service, and draft beer, they have a fantastic brunch on the weekends. Their patio is one of best on Magnolia because it’s mostly covered and has fire pits.

This place is disappointing. We came for brunch and it was a bummer. The first thing that happened when we came in is they told my dad that he could not have his coffee that he bought because it violated with health codes. Maybe so, but he was forced to sit outside(it was cold) and finish his coffee. We should’ve taken that as a sign to leave. As for the food, my boyfriend was the only one to have a good experience. He ordered the shawsage burger with a fried egg in it. He enjoyed the sausage. This is the only thing that is preventing me from giving them a one star. My dad ordered the migas which we specified had to come out hot and it didn’t. His toast was cold and his eggs were just warm. As for my meal, I ordered the breakfast wrap. They got my order wrong and I sent it back. While I waited, they gave me the fruit cup and the bacon that came with it BUT it was the one they first gave me so it was super cold! The waitress gave me attitude when I asked for it to be hot. When the plate came back, the bacon was still lukewarm. At least they got my order right that time I guess. When we got the bill, my dad was surprised they charged him for the coffee he wanted to replace the complementary mimosas. The manager came and she did not have a good attitude. She said all she could do was apologize and then proceeded to give the table a sassy tap and walk away. Overall, I will not be back and will be telling my friends to avoid this place. There are better burgers elsewhere with much nicer waitresses and management.

I honestly feel bad giving Shaws 2 stars. I’m always too generous. With the Burger market saturated in Fort Worth, Texas, you’d think there’d be something special to this place to keep them in biz. I asked for the most popular things on the menu and I was directed towards the guacamole bacon burger. I’m actually mad at myself for finishing it. I was just eating to eat. Shaws puts all their worries in the esthetics of the place and no Love into their burgers. All this being said, two young girls were walking out beside us saying, «ohh my gawd, I’m so happy we came here». So obviously some people like it. Maybe I got the wing thing… The service was exceptional and friendly!

Good food, better burgers than Red Robin for sure. The service is fine, but the kitchen was super slow. We ordered the BLTAE sandwich and a Shawsauge burger. Both were solid. The golden fries and home fries were great. The couple next to us had sweet potato fries and coleslaw, both looked delicious and the couple seemed to be enjoying them. Overall, an okay option if you’ve got a good hour for lunch.

Was so impressed with the tasty cheap brunch we came back for dinner. We appreciated the smart-ass bartender at brunch. He was a lot of fun and on the ball with service and drinks. The breakfast tacos were hot and simple but tasty. Dinner this trip for me was the bird which was delightfully seasoned flattened chicken with avocado, tomato and fresh crispy artisanal lettuce. The bun ended up a tiny bit soggy because the chicken was juicy perfection. Not complaining. The Hill Country Mule was a scrumptious mix of Dripping Springs orange vodka, ginger beer and lime. The fella had the American grilled cheese, and was kind enough to share a bite of melty goodness with thick slabs of bacon. We both agreed his was good but mine was great. Service great even though they were closing. Will return.

So, I came here for the first time today. I didn’t know what to expect but it was something different and I was starving. The service was ok. Not exceptional by any means. The food was also just ok. I had the Turkey Cobb because that is what I was feeling at that time. The combination of avocado and bleu cheese was weird to my taste buds. I really wanted to like it but that taste wasn’t doing it. I sat on the patio and that was probably the best part. Kicking back drinking some beer to a young musician with a guitar never gets old. Luckily the dude strumming the strings was pretty good and you can’t really mess up beers so that was a plus. I’ll have to come again to try something else on the menu to see if they can awe me with something good.

Went on a Sunday brunch during the summer with my boyfriend and our black lab(the patio is pet friendly!!!) The waiter was very helpful and friendly, he even brought out a bowl of water for our pup! Eggs Benedict was great, my boyfriend enjoyed his breakfast burrito. There was a special going on for mimosas, first 2 free? Those were refreshing.

How do you take a 5 star experience to a 3 star review? You take excellent menu professionally cooked. Perfect seasoning and you rush the guest after they are stuffed from perfect portions to leave. The need to turn a table drives profits, but at 5:00 with an 20% occupancy, it just says I’ve had enough of servicing a guest get out.

Do. Not. Go. As a general manager, listening to your customers is a must. This was our first and LAST visit to Shaw’s. We had a brand new server who was not properly trained(no biggie) and had to ask for support when asked about certain items on the menu. Fine. We get it. The bar was out of our first 2 beer choices, so we opted for bloody mary’s. It was Sunday afternoon, right at time for brunch to end and we were told by our«new“server we could get brunch pricing. Cool. Our appetizer was over priced, cold and not tasty(spinach artichoke dip). We had ordered our burgers and picked at Appetizer and decided to get another Bloody Mary. We were told the next ones would be regular priced. No problem. But that’s when things went from blah to awful. The owner overheard the server telling us about pricing and got upset that we were being given our first round at the brunch price. So upon delivery, our server said that we would have to pay full price for ALL of our drinks. We had been very patient, completely understanding and I just didn’t feel like our experience was going very well. We asked to speak to the owner. She was not only rude, but very unappreciative of why she has a business(hello – customers!). She did not greet us with a hello, she was unprofessional and very defensive. We were astounded by her behavior. And will never patronize an establishment that doesn’t appreciate our business. Too many great burgers in Fort Worth… filled with folks who want you there.

I stopped by for dinner because of their happy hour: ½ off burgers on Tuesdays and Thursdays 4 – 7 pm. What a great deal! I had the bison burger with fries and a couple bites from my friend’s mushroom swiss with sweet potato fries. Both burgers were tasty, but dry. It was worth checking out for the deal though.

Even after a friend told us «don’t bother,» we went to Shaw’s today. We had a «Deal Saver» coupon that had to be redeemed before expiration, and didn’ t want to waste it. After seating, we were asked for our drink order. Seems as if they were out of our first FOUR beer choices including Coors Light! That’s a bad omen. I ordered the New York hot dog, my wife was told the French dip sandwich was the best choice. When the meals came, the waitress disappeared. My dog was COLD, like it was just removed from the cooler. Regarding the French dip, the meat was black and terribly overcooked. I would guess it had been cooked yesterday and just reheated. The fries were previously frozen«Ore-Ida» crinkle cuts, nothing special here. I would have asked for a new bottle of ketchup(the one on our table was empty) for the«crinkle fries» but the waitress never reappeared and I had to serve myself from a vacant table. As a footnote, all the appetizers were exceedingly expensive: chips and salsa $ 5; Frog Fries $ 9.50; fried green Beans $ 9. and on and on. These things are about half that cost in most other restaurants of this type. I guess my word to Unilocalers for Shaw’s Patio is «Don’t Bother!»

Wow, now those are some good burgers. We kind of stumbled on Shaw’s by accident one day when the place we were wanting to eat was completely dead. We walked to Shaw’s and man am I ever glad we did. They have a great patio which I’ve later found out is dog friendly. They have a great selection of burgers and an even better beer selection. They have all your favorite burgers but I tried the Portobello Burger and WOW I loved it. It’s a huge mushroom cap with more flavor than any of the meat burgers I’ve tasted here. I’m a big meat and tatters guy but if I could have vegetarian meals like this all the time, I’d give up the meat completely. Their homemade chips are great too. The service can be a little hit or miss but the food, beer, and patio more than make up for the service.(I rarely say that) Oh, they have inside dining too but WHOCARES? It’s all about the patio.

I have been coming here for Half Price Burger night consistenly now for 2 years and my initial review still stands for the most part. Nice selection of craft beers on tap(just wish they had a beer list, even if just a printed Word doc that they can edit and print daily, doesn’t need to be anything fancy). Still LOVE their potato chips that are made in house. French fries are pretty good texture wise, but normally have to add a good bit of salt. My favorite burger is the Patty Melt(grilled onions are hard to get right), but alas it is now considered a «sandwich» since their menu update so therefore is no longer included in Half Price Burger night, hence minus one star from my original review. :-( Service is consistently average, nothing stellar but no complaints.

Ummm… maybe I should’ve ordered a burger? The Good: fantastic onion rings, awesome sweet potato waffle fries and my hubby’s Sicilian Dog was really delicious(the side of pesto aioli was the star). The Bad: my chicken fried steak sandwich. I’ve never had a chicken fried steak sandwich where all the batter fell off before my first bite. Also, the meat was so rubbery I felt like a dog trying to gnaw at it! After trying to bite and chew a quarter of my sandwich, I just gave up and ate the rest of my onion rings. The reviews of this spot seemed to put Shaw’s at A-OK status but the sandwich I had was just horrible — I really would like to come back and try one of their burgers. Hopefully, I will have an update to this review soon. Maybe.

Shaw’s was a nice surprise on a Saturday afternoon. We were looking for a place to eat around 2pm on Magnolia Ave. And we saw this place with a great patio it was nice outside so picked Shaw’s. And they were very good. We walked through the inside which is set up with a lot of small rooms and a bar. We went to the patio which is a good size patio plenty of seating. The menu has a lot of burgers served a bunch of different ways. They are sure to have one you have to try. We had 4 different burgers in our group. They were all very good and cook just right. The burgers come with choice of golden fries, homemade potato chips, baked beans or coleslaw. Or you can substitute onion rings or sweet potato fries $ 1.99 Add a cup of soup, side garden, side spinach or side Greek salad for only $ 2.99. We had the chips onion rings and sweet potato fries all good addition to the burgers. They have a good selection of beers to order with your meal. The service was good and fast with friendly staff. This is a place we will have to go back to and try some more burgers. And hang out on the patio.

We were drawn to Shaw’s for lunch/brunch because of their dog friendly patio and free mimosas on Sunday. That’s right, your first two mimosas are free on Sunday! The staff was friendly and checked on us frequently. Our waitress brought the pup a bowl of ice water and Nala instantly wanted to be her bff. I took them up on those two mimosas and ordered a half turkey panini with a spinach side salad. Jesse had a mimosa and the migas. My order ended up being a lot of food and wasn’t a bad deal for $ 9.99. Especially when you add those delicious free mimosas. I ordered this thinking it would be light but the sandwich portion was more like a whole sandwich served with house made potato chips. I liked the sandwich which also had Havarti and avocado but was much greasier than I prefer. The side salad came with slivers of almonds, mushrooms, cheese and a creamy vinaigrette. The migas also looked substantial. They run several specials throughout the week. In addition to the complimentary mimosas on Sunday they also serve Bloody Mary’s and Screwdrivers for $ 3. Tuesday and Thursday is ½ price burger night from 4pm-7pm. ½ priced apps and bottles of wine on Wednesday. They also have live music Friday and Saturday nights. In short, Shaw’s is not a destination for a mind blowing culinary experience but simply a great place to hang out on the patio, grab a drink and fill your belly at a reasonable price.
