Awesome! I can’t think of one negative about this great neighborhood spot. RJ’s has the best patio in Fort Worth, the food is delicious(blackened chicken pasta is the best), the staff are amazing and always ready to take care of you. If its Crawfish you like, chicken fried steak, or a spinach salad, they have you covered. Go for the live music(check on the days), drinks or food, which ever it is, the service will always be exceptional. Enjoy!

I loved this place! Such a great atmosphere and very nice customer service! The outside seating area is just perfect. Fried Calamari was delicious. I ordered the Fishermans lunch special and my husband ordered the Oakeechicken lunch special. I got french fries for the side and refried beans, both were delicious. Cant say enough good things about this place. Glad we drove by it and decided to stop by!

A nice place tuck away in the south hills neighborhood south of I-20 on Trail Lake. Had the bucket of shrimp, shrimp was good, fries ok, hush puppy were great. My wife had the grilled tilapia on rice and thought it was very good. Nice sized portions. Nice family atmosphere.

If it wasn’t for the food, I’d give this place one star based on it’s slow service. My family and I have been multiple times, and almost each time it takes forever to get anything ordered. On my current visit it took 15 minutes to be acknowledged. All the while a couple of other patrons show up and get immediate service. What’s up with that? The service is horrible! Who knows what our servers name is, and forget apologizing for the ridiculous wait. Get a manager people!

Been back several time now over the past few months and the service has gotten much better! Food is still as good as it always is. Favorite thing on the menu is probably the land and sea bucket(come hungry).

I enjoy sitting on the patio with a drink. Very friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. I brought my parents here one night and they enjoyed the band and loved that the patio was dog friendly.

RJ Gators is a Florida based seafood restaurant. Like most, Florida based restaurants transplants in Texas I didn’t have high hopes. I first had RJ Gators in Daytona and it didn’t disappoint then. I moved to Texas, and there was an RJ’s in the NE Mall where Bar Louie is now. It wasn’t that great there or a big hit hence why Bar Louie is there now. So, RJ Gators comes over this way. I avoided it because I’m sure it wouldn’t be that great. This location has a very comfy, big patio. They have happy hour from 3 – 7. Every time I go to RJ’s I have always gotten the Havana Banana. You either get grilled or blackened fish, gator, or chicken sittin on top of black beans and rice with fried plantains. I get it everytime and I got it this visit. It didn’t disappoint. I really liked it. I got it with grilled chicken. I will be back and hopefully can explore more of the menu!

This place has been a real find for us! Very close to our house, with lots of TV screens(we’re big Texas Rangers fans), excellent food, and great drinks. You can eat at the bar, at a booth or table, or outside, where there is sometimes live music. We’ve had excellent service every time, and the menu has something for everyone. Everything we’ve tried has been great, and the portions are generous. We’ve become regulars at RJ Gator’s and will be going back soon!

This place has a great atmosphere. Great patio! Food was really good. We had a party of 12 and all ordered different things, and everything was yummy! Ryan is an excellent server, kept up the bar, our party and other tables without missing a beat. The owners were out visiting with tables, very nice people. We will defiantly be back!

We eat here almost every week. It is so nice to have a friendly, casual neighborhood restaurant with great food. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Get this and you will come back for more. Start with an order of hush puppies, then the Pecan Parmesan Chicken and key-lime pie for desert. Great place to go for patio dining when the weather is good. And, does not hurt there is a big selection of draft beers.

Hate the food. Good patio, just wish there were fresh choices in the menu especially being located right next to a park.

My dad is a regular here. He loves their fried shrimp basket. My husband and I just moved back from Houston and he brought us here the other day. We loved it! I got the fried catfish and my husband got the RJs burger. We both enjoyed our food very much! The staff was very friendly! We will be joining our dad as regulars from now on for sure! Hopefully sit outside the next time(they have a great patio!) or eventually when it’s less hot!

Solid 4.5 Stars… Second time eating here. Came by myself 1st time and had the Havana Banana Style blackened plus had them add scallops. Absolutely perfect!!! Second time cam with a group of 8. We had 4 aps. and none disappointed. We had a mixture steak, pasta, ahi, scallops, mahi mahi. Everyone was more than pleased with their meal. They struggled a bit with attentive service, but the food was hot and came in a descent time once the order was in. Do not discount eating here for my comment on the service. Food will exceed your Expectations. I/we will be back… Thanks RJ Gators.

Went here with some friends that had been before and loved it. I must say our food was really good and even though we didn’t eat outside, what an incredible patio. It was still light outside when we left so didn’t get to see the fire in the pit but it looks so comfortable, trendy and awesome all in one. The menu has many items and has a wide range of different food choices. We rode our motorcycles and loved the special parking place. Can’t wait to go back and try something new.

Not bad joint the food was not bad and service was good. BUUUUT! It feels just like the short lived«Hot tubs» that was there before. Same prices and it still has this confusing menu. They serve seafood, burgers and even Mexican food. Doesn’t this place originate from Florida? But I guess all that doesn’t matter just as long as its good food right? Well guess what guys The food is really good! And the portions on both drinks and food were huge! So this place is worth a try. My only complaint is the high prices, same jacked up parking lot and the annoying bees and flies that were swarming the outside patio.

We stopped in yesterday because after Christmas shopping at Hulen we NEEDED a beer. I was 3 in the afternoon and there were a few people in the place but we had the bar to ourselves. Their tap beers included Shiner, Newcastle, and Rahr which rocked. 3 – 7 and 9 – 11 is happy hour here. 3.25 a draft isn’t bad and the pint glasses were super cold. In fact, my beer had a little ice form. That’s a win! We had the fried gator at market price of 12 bucks. It was tasty although isn’t anything fried? Nonetheless, we had some bongo sauce with ours which was like Thai sweet chili, their cocktail, and their Cajun tartar. All three were good and I believe homemade. The cocktail had perfect garlic hints and plenty of horseradish. Cajun tartar is kinda reminiscent of remoulade. I’m looking forward to trying their chicken fry as the bartender says it’s the best and it’s homemade. I also am hoping to try their patio when the weather is nice. It’s great having this place within walking distance of the house. I say try it!

My husband and I stopped into RJ Gator’s for lunch. The layout of the restaurant has dramatically changed since it was Pop’s Burgers. There are spacious booths, tables, bar seating and even a shuffle board table inside. The new owners are going to take advantage of the fantastic patio– there’s lots of patio seating, lounge areas, and even fire pits. Great potential for pleasant weather days. We were greeted at the door by our server. She was very friendly, knowledgable and efficient throughout our meal. The menu is large, with lots of great lunch choices. I usually go for seafood items, but it’s cold outside and I wanted something hardier. We ordered the Buffalo Chicken Pasta and Buffalo Chicken Tenders. You choose your own wing sauce for both of these entrees. I chose the Medium sauce for the pasta and Mario sauce for the wings. As our server accurately explained, Mario sauce is kind of like orange chicken with a kick. Both meals tasted great! The chicken tasted very fresh. The French fries were seasoned well, without it being«too much.» They are thin and crispy. Our total ticket was $ 20. Not bad at all for the quality of food we received. We will definitely be back to support a neighborhood spot that has great potential. Will review again on the quality of their seafood.
