I was asked to by Put a Cork in It by an employee at the time. That was 5 years ago. Since then, I’ve stopped by on weekends, or whenever else my travels take me through Ft Worth. It’s great place to taste, shop and learn about new wines(and champagne and bourbon). The selection is varied and I believe caters to customers who appreciate good wine and a good value. For me, it’s about finding a wine that I enjoy, am confident giving to others, and knowing that I got it at a fair price. Chris and Deedra have always come through, and that’s why I buy my wine in Fort Worth at Put a Cork in It, even though I live in Dallas. I read other reviews about selection and engaging personalities/stories, etc. My experience is that if Chris doesn’t have in stock what you are looking for, he gets it promptly at a good price. He orders our favorites regularly, so if you know what you want, he can get it. His knowledge of wine is vast, and he knows great alternatives for just about every wine. If one wants a history lesson on wine, Chris can give it for every bottle he sells, and alot more. You just have to ask.

One of the best little wine shops in town. They always have the most recent releases as well as those hard to find small release wines. One of my favorite things about this shop is the little port, scotch and liquor shelf in the back. Its not a huge selection but you can tell the buyer here really knows his stuff. Definitely worth checking this place out when you get the chance.

Based on my couple of trips in here, looks to be a family-owned thin reed of a wine shop, featuring varietals of all ilk, from special occasions where you might be willing to stretch the budget to affordable, yet carefully curated, selections. I’ve been here for a tasting at least once, and one thing I think you’ll find of most wine shops is that many wine store owners and managers share an affinity for telling the tales of good wine: where it came from(as opposed to where it’s going, which is down my gullet), what makes it special, and what in particular about the year, the region, and the soil or atmospheric conditions have come into play to make a given taste the character it displays. With that idea in mind, the proprietor here tends to give a fairly dry(I suppose as opposed to what, oaky?) take on what they carry, but the facts are all there. If you’re looking for storytime at Put a Cork In It, you leave a little wanting, but if you’re down to walk with something that may surprise your tastebuds in a good way, there’s a good chance they’ve got you covered.

Wandered in here the other day to check out the previous reviews and hopefully find that shop that I can make all my regular purchases and orders from. This wasn’t it for me, but i will say might be that for others. Let me preface by saying, I like old world style wines with big earthy flavors and some age on them(8 – 10 yrs+). This shop seems to cater more to the boutique wine drinker, has a one or two common Italian style wines, and then a small selection of collector’s wines, but mostly common labels that can be found at most retailers for about the same price. All together, the selection and prices are decent, though more of the common varietals, and a rather deep selection of Rose. Not to be outdone is a small selection of icewines, ports, and spirits. There, as well, are many wine and spirit accessories to enrich your drinking experiences. The clerk at the time seemed more concerned with the computer at the register than to talking to us as we browsed and if they had something unique or interesting to me that I just didn’t see, probably missed a sale. A hello at the door and quite some time later, a very brief, «You all need any help with anything?» didn’t feel welcoming or intriguing, so we forewent the small talk and left shortly after. One thing that was very intriguing to me though was the art for sale on the walls. There was a wide array of very talented work priced for sale, and I’d venture that if I had the money to spend, I probably would have taken a lot of it home. I’ll keep looking for somewhere that is a little more welcoming and seems interested in aiding me in ordering some higher end labels, but for the general consumer, this isn’t a bad shop to stop in at and take a look around.

After having the wonderful Chocolate Box Sparkling Shiraz at the Veritas OYE( ), I just had to have some more. So I checked with the guys at Rocland Estates and they pointed me to Chris at Put a Cork In It Wine Shop. Well I stopped in a while back, and while Chris did not have the Chocolate Box Sparkling Shiraz, he did have a «Kilroy Was Here» Sparkling Shiraz, which is also by Rocland Estates. Now maybe it was me, or it could be the wine, but I did not seem to enjoy the«Kilroy Was Here» Sparkling Shiraz as much as the Chocolate Box Sparkling Shiraz. Of course maybe it was the awesome vibe of that OYE that made everything taste better. Regardless, Put a Cork In It is a very nice shop and Chris was very helpful in helping me find my wine(I bought 3 bottles) and he made some other suggestions I’d like to try someday. If Put a Cork In It was closer to home, I’d definitely make it my wine shop of choice(I don’t have«a shop of choice» near home either). Oh, and there are also regularly scheduled tastings, so you might want to get on that mailing list! PS. If you are hungry, check out Park Hill Café right next door( ).

I wish I could give them 100 stars. I love this place! My sister still lives in the area and she has been coming the past 4 years for the weekly wine tastings. I come with her whenever I visit and I always look forward to it. They have a great selection and knowledge. Their love for what they do always shines through. Pluses(plural) are 1. Cuvet the dog(who is quickly becoming celebrity), 2. Deidre’s fantastic jewelry and hair clips, and 3. the interesting artwork sometimes available for sale. Their cousin owns Park Hill Café next door, so come in here and grab a bottle since it’s BYOB, before you head over :)

A really great discovery for me – I found Put a Cork in It through a wine distributor when I was trying to locate a limited edition malbec that no one else in the area had. Needless to say, mission accomplished, but my love doesn’t stop there. First, the ownership is extremely friendly, and second, you’ve got to love the free tastings, which allow the consumer to explore different regions and varietals. The focus on the selections here is value – almost everything is under $ 20, which limits the range a bit, but allows people to find outstanding everyday wines without spending a fortune, and there’s never anything wrong with that!
