This specific Pizza Inn is a typical pizza chain with typical problems. Nothing special, their offerings just don’t stand out to me. I appreciate restaurants where you sit down to eat and table cloth is used. This store use to be a Mr. Jims pizza that closed due to the abysmal income of the store. I wonder if Pizza Inn with it’s name will fare any better? In a college area you would think it would fare well, but they have a lot of competition near TCU. The quality of ingredients is awful in contrast to La Bella or Chadra Mezza & Grill’s pizza or for that matter Papa John’s pizza. If you just want basic run of the mill pizza then this is ok. As an example I rate Cici’s as the lowest in quality and then Dominos, then pizza Inn then Papa John’s. I ordered what is called the Pepperoni max with extra pepperoni and I received a pizza that had at most three pepperonis to one slice. That makes no sense to me at all, moving on. The second pizza I ordered was pepperoni with onion, mushrooms, and black olives. The pizza I got was Cheese, black olives, and ham and both pizza crust were that cracker thin crust. I can’t stand thin crust. That is like eating appetizers when expecting a meal. Not making the pizza to order is a typical problem and this place is no different. This was the first time any where a manager took an order and made it while I waited in the lobby for approximately thirty minutes and got it all wrong. That’s special I guess. The next day I got two free pizzas, but I refuse to go back to this store on the principal that there is FAR better quality pizza for just a little more money in the area and they haven’t let me down yet in the same manner ever. ****Update**** As of 9-30-2011, that being the last time I drove by this store. This store is closed. A shame really. Even though it had problems it was a pizza store that was very close to my neighborhood. Maybe this location is just not right for chain pizza joint. I wonder what a freelance could do with this spot?

My wife and I ordered for delivery a stuff crust pepperoni pizza with extra cheese and pepperoni. The price was right, delivery time faster than they predicted, and the pizza was hot. The toppings tasted good but the dough was horrible. Undercooked and chewy. I called and requested a second pizza without the extra toppings which I thought might make a difference. Again, it was delivered quickly and hot, clearly cooked longer. Still doughy and chewy in texture and basically horrible. I thought I remembered growing up with and liking stuff crust pepperoni pizza from Pizza Inn. Hmm… I must not be remembering correctly.
