I’ve had better and was hoping for better. Salsa was ok but had the consistence of water. The beef enchiladas were good but nothing special The best part was the sopapillia that came with my meal but my waitress forgot to tell me was included. And, no restaurant should ever charge more than $ 1.98 for tea!

Although I’m only able to give this place 2 stars, I want to start off by saying the food was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, we ran into some things that negatively impacted my lunch. When we walked in, the was no one there to seat us. Not a big deal until I notice the hostess sitting in the back eating and being annoyed that I had spotted her. I picked my own seat as she finished the last bite. When I ordered a margarita, she said the don’t have a liquor license so the fist one is on the house. There was no alcohol in it. I ordered chicken fajitas and they were great. My friend had chicken enchiladas and he was satisfied as well. At this point, I’m disappointed with the virgin margaritas and terrible service but I lost it when I roach crawled beside me. The hostess apologized and said ‘luckily we don’t have them in the kitchen ’ maybe take it to go if you’re going here.

The food was really bland and tasted like old tv dinners. Service was bad and they acted as if we were a hassle; there was maybe two other tables seated and we had to wait 15 minutes after asking for the check. I’m also really sure they didn’t put any tequila in the crummy mix they used for the house margaritas.

La Cucaracha… I was enjoying my food until my son said something about the bugs crawling on the floor. I had wondered why the waiter had kept sweeping, over and over again with his broom and long handled dustpan near our table. He was sweeping up ROACHES. Not the Texas water bug kind but those little, fast ones. Needless to say, don’t eat here! Tried to give 0 stars, but Unilocal wouldn’t let me.

I have to say i was shocked just how good this place was. I have lived in this area for over 20 years and just now tried it. The salsa was spicy which I loved. The rice and beans were some of the best I have had from Tex-Mex in along time. I will definitely come back since it is so close to home and the prices are great. Enchiladas were good, the guacamole awesome and the sopapillas are excellent, I will definitely be back.

I come here 2 – 3 times a month when I need my tex-mex fix. The atmosphere is nice and they have some of the best enchiladas I’ve ever had. The owner is very friendly and helps the servers when the place is busy, which is nice to see. The complementary sopapillas are an excellent touch that I’ve never seen anywhere else. Now some cons: the salsa has good flavor, but is a little watery. I prefer chunkier salsa. Also the service is very hit and miss. Sometimes we have a great server, but sometimes we have a server who rushes us through our meals and never once smiles, even when they’re slow! Finally, the only time I ordered an appetizer was some nachos. It cost around $ 5 and consisted of six tortilla chips covered with shredded cheese and placed in the microwave. It was very disappointing. Despite all this I keep coming back, but not as often as I would if some of the cons were addressed.

Only good thing was the sopapillas. And the prices were ridiculous for the quality of food. No sweet tea and pitiful margaritas. Worst $ 50 I’ve ever spent.

Best Mexican food I’ve had in a while, and we eat it a lot. Great service, and friendly staff. Try the Pork Asado tacos. Wonderful!

Hadn’t been to this restaurant in 29 years. Still remember the good food. The corn tortillas were better back the day as was the jalapeño relish. Carrots and onions had a weird flavor. Everything else was perfecto! Will be back!

Mi Charrito’s is one of Fort Worth’s best kept secrets. It is located in a small strip center without any street frontage and if you’re not looking for it, you won’t see it. However, once you find it, you’ll keep coming back. The owner is almost always up front to greet you when you walk in the door. The food is always freshly prepared and has the true«homemade» taste unlike so many chain restaurants. The tamales are my favorite. .. best in town. They have recently added chicken tamales and pablano pepper tamales to the menu but still offer the incredible pork tamales, so you have a variety from which to choose. The wait-staff are also great. .. friendly and efficient. If you haven’t been, go try it!

Fantastic, authentic-tasting Mexican food. My Enchiladas Verdes weren’t overloaded with cheese which is refreshing, the spice of the salsa was absolutely perfect, and the rice and beans were a definite hit! I’d gladly recommend this hidden gem.

Delicious family style TexMex. I had a cheese enchilada and some of the best rice and beans I’ve ever had. My friends shared a huge portion of chicken and shrimp fajitas. The guacamole was fresh, the chips were warm, and the salsa was homemade. And the sopapillas at the end — yum!

Went tonight for the first time in about 7 mos. my wife ordered the Carne Guisada. It was beyond bland. We sent it back which is something we never do. I had the combo 1. It was mediocre at best. The salsa was too salty and the waiter or seemed offended when I complained about the lack of flavor for the guisada. This was a neighborhood favorite but I don’t think we will go back.

Authentic TeX mex and I am in love! The salsa is just the right amount of spicy and the warm tortillas are the best. Love the large portions and yummy Margaritas. The outside of the restaurant may look strange since it is in a strip mall but the food will not disappoint.

This TexMex restaurant is right around the corner from my doctor’s office and I’ve always want to try it. After my doctor’s appointment, and after I had weighed, I stopped in for an early dinner. As many of the other reviews have noted, this is a «hole in the wall» but has awesome straight-up, no frills TexMex food. I was greeted at my table with warm chips and a fairly good salsa. Personally, I like a salsa with a bit more«kick», but Mi Charrito’s salsa was definitely good. It had a nice spice to it. I decided to order regular TexMex for my entrée instead of opting for one of the restaurant’s specialties. I’m glad I did. My plate consisted of a cheese enchilada and a cheese taco with rice and refried beans. YUM! The plate was just want to doctor ordered. The enchilada and cheese taco were both cheesy and the enchilada had a nice chili con carne was nicely spicy and didn’t have an overly amount of chili powder to overwhelm it. The chili con queso which topped the cheese taco was also very tasty. The sides, refried beans and Spanish rice were a perfect accompaniment to the enchilada and cheese taco. My server took excellent care of my during my visit. One plus at the end of the meal when the ticket is brought, you’re offered a free sopapilla! What a great way to end your meal with warm«gooeyness». I can’t wait to stop in again real soon to explore some of the other menu options.

We were poked and prodded to come to Mi Charrito by a friend on a Sunday. Being hungover and truth be told, pretty much ready to die, we agreed to anything that would soak up the booze in my stomach. Apparently being open on Sunday is a new thing for them and the place was dead at 10am. Fine by me because I needed no crowds and as little noise as possible. The owner Jesus came to day hello and took my drink order promptly. He was super friendly. I also ordered one of the coldest schooners of beer I’ve ever had for a whole 3 bucks. Chips and salas were the usual suspects and our waiter was fast to keep them full. We had a few order breakfast and a few order lunch at the table. Nothing is wildly priced thankfully. I personally ordered the red chicken mole. Pretty good red mole. Jesus said they make it in house and I cannot attest otherwise. It wasn’t overly«anything» as some mole but a good balance of coffee, chocolate, bitter, and spice. The chicken was boiled and served with the sauce, your choice of beans, rice and tortillas. My boyfriend had the small bowl of menudo which he enjoyed. I sampled the broth(because I find the texture of tripe unappetizing) and it was well flavored. He also ordered huevos rancheros which was as expected. The ranchero sauce was a bit thin but otherwise it came with fried eggs, rice, beans, and more tortillas. Decent enough! We were served complimentary hot sopapillas and our check arrived without trouble. I think we spent a little over 30 bucks with tip. Not terrible considering I felt immensely better, the beer was cold, food was decent, and we received good service. I’ll go back.

This place has really great Mexican food. I had the red mole enchiladas and they were awesome. Mole is always a risk but these were delicious, with just a hint of sweetness and loaded with chicken. Large portions too. The beans taste super good and the chorizo on a Sunday is top notch(better than Esparanza’s). Friendly service and free sopapillas at the end.

The same family has owned and operated this restaurant for more than 30 years. It is your average mexican restaurant with the avg 10 – 13 per plate, generic food. Had the mexi combo with 2 tamales and a cheese enchilada. Was good — nothing outstanding or memorable. The refried beans do taste homemade like lard was used. Service was poor, pretty slow. I would not go out of my way to go here — but it’s definitely a safe bet if you are in this complex to go hear a band at Keys lounge, like we were.

The service was outstanding. The owner comes around and checks on you and takes care of things you would not have thought to even ask about. We were so disappointed in the Margaritas. They tasted watered down… actually no taste at all. The chips and salsa were wonderful. It was obvious the salsa is home made. Very fresh and just the right bite to make it excellent. We ordered fajitas for two. I was so disappointed. There were few vegetables to go along with the chicken and beef combo. The meat was not the best either. Beef was stringy and tough. The chicken was small chicken bites. With the drinks being bad and entrée not the best, we probably will not be back. Although, it was loaded with families enjoying an evening out. For the money… there is better.
