What a great experience! We sat at the bar on Valentine’s Day for an app and turned it into several courses of apps and dessert. The service was absolutely perfect with many servers/bartenders tending to our needs. So often I have found that while sitting at the bar it’s like settling, not the rule here, I would belly up and look forward to it in the future! Had the pleasure of siting across from the expo window what a treat, truly got a picture of the menu!

It’s probably my fault for going to this place for Valentine’s Day, oh well lessons learned. Wine was great and so was the service but the steak was tough as leather.(And they don’t even have steak sauce to help the situation). Who doesn’t have steak sauce when you serve steaks? I’ll probably give it another try but order some steak sauce for your patrons!

Well Max’s, I’ve visited your Dallas location and enjoyed it, so while in Fort Worth, why the hell not, too. Sadly, you hit on a lot of cylinders, but you failed miserably when the impression was most important. When we arrived tonight at 5:00PM, you frowned on our party of 6, saying you were fully booked beginning at 6:30. With plenty of tables available, we said, that should give us plenty of time to eat dinner. We ate. A lot, in fact. We drank. A lot, In fact. We even had a 7th member of our party stop in for a brief time and he added to the bill. Well over $ 200 later and around 6:30, we were presented with the bill, which we paid promptly. At 6:35, when I came back to our table after visiting the restroom and counting 8 empty tables on my way to and from, that same hostess was shooing us out of the restaurant. Really? You couldn’t see that we were paid out and packing up within 5 minutes of your precious 6:30 full house that was far from it? You made a pleasant experience feel tawdry. If we would have been hanging around taking up paying customers’ space after finalizing our bill, I would have understood your attitude. Your slogan is «Champagne and Fried Chicken, why the hell not?» My suggestion is you drink a few flutes and calm the hell down.

I’ve been here multiple times and it has yet to disappoint in the least. The last time I was there it was their anniversary so they had pulled pork specials from a pig that was slow roasted all night as well as everyone getting a glass of Moet for a cheers. Excellent head chef, excellent restaurant.

The very best gluten free fried chicken!!! Very generous portion with mashed potatoes and a vegetable. Service was outstanding for a busy Saturday night. A little on the loud side with music. We had a big group which was a challenge in hearing everyone. I would definitely return!!!

Super — ate at the bar and enjoyed a conversation with the music playing in the background loud but not so much as to impede your talk. The service was great and selections tasty and wonderful wines with very knowledgeable servers and chefs Wow great!!!

Awesome dinner last night! All of the employees, especially our waitress, we gracious, inviting and attentive hosts. The food was spectacular! We started with fried artichokes served with a dill dip which was amazing. My wife had the Max and cheese and loved it and I had the southern fried chicken. The fried chicken was served with mashed potatoes and collared greens and is simply the best fried chicken in town. We finished off with a dark chocolate mousse served with chocolate covered raspberries and an amazing raspberry sauce. We asked for some extra sauce because we loved it so much. Simply put, this is my new favorite restaurant in town. A tremendous value for your money and just fantastic food. Thank you to the staff for making such a great experience for us. We will definitely be back soon!

Absolutely wonderful food, great service, generous portions, nice wind list, I can’t say enough about this restaurant. I can’t wait to try their brunch! Also, they have a chef led cooking school that looks way fun!

This restaurant is a gem in downtown Fort Worth. Max’s is one of those restaurants where you can close your eyes, point to anything on the menu, and be 100% satisfied with your order. I recently moved to DFW from Ohio and discovered Max’s a few weeks ago and I have been a return customer every week since and there has not been a single dish that I have had that wasn’t absolutely delicious. My favorites are the bone marrow, dirty south burger and lobster mac & cheese. And last but not least, the chocolate mousse with«berry bombs» is simply amazing. I was also really impressed with the service at Max’s. The entire staff is very attentive and friendly, so it’s another perk added to the overall experience. From décor to food and everything in between, I am very impressed with this restaurant.

I’m writing this review because last night was my second visit to Max’s Wine Dive and the service we received was over and beyond what I could have expected. After a glorious dinner elsewhere, our plans got a little messed up when the wine place we had planned was closed for a private event. So we walked over to Max’s. They were crazy busy and we had 11 people in our party(celebrating my birthday) but they didn’t at all treat us like an inconvenience! They offered to put two tables together when one was vacated. In the meantime we waited outdoors. It was pretty chilly, but the manager got us blankets, and made a fresh pot of coffee. Our server was super sweet and attentive. We never actually got a table indoors — some ladies decided to loiter at their table– no big. BUT because the manager and the server were so amazing we’ll definitely be back. I can’t wait to come back on a date night and enjoy the full experience! Thank you Max’s Wine Dive!

WOW! Max’s Wine Dive has a hipster environment that serves up a bad-ass brunch. It was the perfect spot for my sister and I to catch up on some girl talk, do some people watching, enjoy an amazing meal, and some mean mimosas. We sat at the bar because it was pretty darn busy, but I’ll be honest I would think that this is one of the most sought after seats. We got to watch the bustling kitchen and waitresses, visit with the executive chef(who just won the top chef competition in Ft. Worth) and really get a good feel for what the eats are all about at this place.(I’m sure they would have been happy to fill us in on the wine too, but we were drinking the regular brunch mimosas that day) The chef himself gave us his recommendations on meals, what was best on the brunch menu and left us to decide. As he was walking away he paused and came back to my sister(who is GF and Celiac) and said: «Were you thinking of ordering something with gravy? Because I can whip you up a GF gravy real quick.» WHAT?! We hadn’t said anything about her allergy. he had REMEMBERED her from her visits prior to this one. THEEXECUTIVECHEFHADREMEMBEREDHER! She felt very famous, and I felt very motherly and in love with the cute chef who had remember my sisters serious food allergy. So we ended up ordering the GF fried chicken, which takes 20 – 25 minutes because they slow cook it for juiciness, and the GF blueberry rice pancakes, so that we could share our meals. Everything looked so dang good, I just couldn’t decide, so I convinced sister to share with me. Everything was amazing as it sounded on the menu; prepared deliciously, served up hot and beautifully displayed. The basic brunch mimosa ran $ 3.75 for a choice of either grapefruit or OJ, but whats awesome is how I watched the waitress make it. a ton of champagne and just a splash of juice. JUSTHOWMAMALIKESIT! Because we had sat at the bar, or maybe because they’d remembered my sister’s food allergy, the executive chef actually greeted us when we sat down and took our order, but we had a waitress who took care of us from then on. She happily filled our mimosas, was timely with our checks and reminded us that there were purse hangers and plugs for our phones if needed(hiding under the bar by our knees). The restaurant offers valet, but there is plenty of garage parking or parking lot parking as well. CHAMPAGNEANDFRIEDCHICKEN, WHYTHEHELLNOT? –Max’s Wine Dive… I like your style

Let me just start this review by saying; I did not order the fried chicken. So maybe that was my first mistake. I was a little underwhelmed by my experience at Max’s Wine Dive and don’t know that I’ll return any time soon. It takes a lot for my husband and I to get out these days — with a baby and a toddler at home. After many failed attempts, my son finally took a bottle and we decided to treat ourselves to a place that a chef-friend recommended. We dressed up, which is completely unnecessary, and didn’t stick out too much. As far as «dives’ go — this place is pretty swanky. Wear a cocktail dress or a t-shirt an flip flops. The table next to us brought their 7 and 9 year old kids. Anything goes — which is cool with me! We ordered the watermelon salad, cheese plate, fries, crème brulee and glass after glass of WINE. Our server was VERY knowledgeable about wine and made PERFECT recommendations. I do wish we had drank here and ate somewhere else though. The watermelon salad was not good — some sort of peppercorn spice — when we were looking for«refreshing». We sent it back(which is rare for us) and were still charged for it. The fries and cheese were good — though we needed a 2nd baguette for which we were charged for. The crème brulee was not prepared and took 30 minutes(which the server did warn us about) but when we did receive it — was watery. In total we ordered 5 glasses of wine(again, so wonderful), but were disappointed when we received the check. Over $ 150 for 3 appetizers, dessert and wine for 2 people. I don’t know. Maybe we should have gotten the fried chicken and it would have washed everything away — but to me — this shows lack of customer service skills. It was a «Me thinks not» in my book, had it not been for the excellent wine and the AWESOME live music. I’m a sucker for a good, dry red wine and it won an extra star today.

I didn’t even know there was on in Ft. Worth till I did some research on what was surrounding the hotel I was staying at, at the time. I went ahead & went to see what the hype was about since I passed up the Dallas location one too many times. It’s safe to say, I wasn’t let down. I went for brunch & got the Lemon Bar French Toast. Lemon curd, lemon custard & blueberry syrup. I have to REALLY be in the mood when it comes to lemon but with me being a lover of French Toast, I know it couldn’t go wrong. Sweet & tangy, as expected. It’s stacked! It’ll leave you stuffed, it’s more than enough to share with someone. It’s super good. Also, I had a chance to taste their famous Southern Fried Chicken. Marinated in jalapeño-buttermilk & fried to perfection. I believe they give you 4 pieces! It also comes with Texas toast & collard greens. The chicken & greens were good, I left the toast alone. From those two dishes alone, looks like you can go wrong with anything that’s on the menu, no matter what time of the day you come visit.

I had my bachelorette dinner here on a Saturday night. I’ve been super excited about trying out this restaurant after reading the Unilocal reviews. I expected it to be an upscale type of dinning environment so we dressed up. When we got to the restaurant though, I felt very overdressed. This is more of a casual than upscale restaurant. Our group ordered chicken and waffles, the pb&j wings, lobster mac and cheese, regular Mac and cheese, egg and bacon sandwich, and grilled chicken with mashed potatoes. I probably had the best dish out of the group, which was the grilled chicken with mashed potatoes. The best part of the dish was the orange mashed potatoes. At first I though it was mashed sweet potato but it was regular mashed potatoes. It was very delicious, savory, and fluffy. The chicken was very well seasoned and cook but there was nothing special about it. The least liked dish of the night had to be the pb&j wings. It was just too savory. You get tired of eating it after like 3 bites. Consensus of the night was that the food here is a little above average but with nothing spectacular on the menu. I wouldn’t rush to come back.

Pretty neat little place to come have brunch. All of our food was really good. And the wait staff was knowledgeable and friendly. It’s a dark, little wine bar. But the atmosphere is fun. Good place to stop by when you are in the area.

Really impressed with the overall experience at the Wine Dive. I would definitely recommend sitting at the bar so you can watch the kitchen in action. The staff is very personable, and I appreciate the way everyone had a smile on their face. Besides the solid wine list, they also have a nice selection of craft beers. The menu is definitely fit for foodies. We enjoyed the pretzels as an appetizer, and the fried chicken lived up to its billing as some of the best in the nation. There’s a cozy feel to this place that makes you feel relaxed. The dim lighting adds to the ambiance. We can’t wait to return.

Small place. Made reservations for 4 on NYE. Was seated quickly. Wine menu is very extensive, server mention some wines, sample 2 or 3, didn’t find any of my liking. Ordered PB&J wings, I underestimated those wings because they were delicious! I ordered bison meatloaf… Which was okay. Wish I ordered something else. The server mention a special they had on steak… My boyfriend ordered the«steak» which ended up being prime rib, server didn’t mention it being prime rib. The«steak came out first. Than about 45 min later my bison meatloaf, the famous fried chicken(which she did mention may take 30 min), and stuff peppers came out. Which was the rest of the parties food. My boyfriend already finish his prime rib cause he didn’t want it to get cold. Our server was nice but she didn’t do a good job on checking up on us. When the prime rib was dropped off she said the rest of the food would be right out… I know the food isn’t her fault, it’s the kitchen but she could of dropped by and say«hey it’s gonna be another 30 min». I knew the fried chicken would take awhile but the stuffed peppers were on small plates which shouldn’t of taken 45 min. I want to give this place another try just because the reviews are very good and the PB&J wings were awesome.

Wow. This place has blown me away every time I have been. It’s tucked away next to Barcadia on the far east side of West 7th– and they have their own parking garage so I have never had trouble finding a spot. From the outside it doesn’t look like much– but they make magic inside this cozy restaurant. The fist time I came was for brunch– served by the darling Lyn. I was told the portions are huge and they are– most of the items could easily be shared, especially if you get one of the appetizers. The chef sent out some PB&J wings– I know sounds funky, but they were pure bliss… the«breading» was roasted peanuts and it was drizzled in a blackberry reduction. it just worked and I now get them every time I come in. They even sent out a plate of gluten free wings so one companion could taste them. My neighbor and I couldn’t decide between two things so we each ordered one and split them– I got the egg sandwich(massive) and he got the special chicken benedict that is not on the menu anymore. The egg sandwich was ridiculously large with thick slices of bacon and gooey cheese. The Texas benedict had a jalapeño biscuit and peppered gravy that was to die for! I also came on New years and for brunch multiple times after. The French toast is really sweet– so I always order a kids portion(one perfect slice) and let everyone with me taste it! Also– try this jalapeño cheese grits. they are the best I’ve ever had. and don’t worry, they aren’t blazing hot– they just have a kiss of heat that goes perfect with a big mimosa! Try and bring a big party so everyone can order something different and snag a bite from all the plates :) The place is small. cozy. but small. Also I would strongly suggest making a reservation– this place is gaining momentum and I notice its getting more and more packed every time I go in. Also– don’t be lame and go with the regular brunch plates– try whatever is the special. They rotate the menu often and you might not be able to get that thing that looked good the last time you were here! I don’t know what kind of Voodoo chef is brewing in the back– but I love it!
