Cheap. Fresh. Mmmm good. Where else can you get 24 pieces of dark chicken and 2 huge sides and rolls and gravy for 18.49. This is the place to feed a family. And its great quality. Definately try this place if you haven’t. They also have egg rolls, corn dogs, burritos, corn nuggets, fries, fish, chicken fried steak. And wings are about 50 cents each.

While visiting a friend in the area, Lisa’s was recommended to me. I am so glad that it was! The fried chicken was fantastic, crispy, and perfectly cooked! The corn nuggets are addicting and the mashed potatoes and gravy are pretty solid; I especially enjoyed the white gravy. Everything is affordable as well. This was such a delicious meal that my friends and I went to Lisa’s for a second time before we left. I will definitely visit again!

This place is about as sketchy as it gets but the food is amazing and super cheap. I avoided this place for 2 years but finally ventured in and I have been back 3 times in 2 weeks. so yeah, it’s great. You can’t beat it price wise, a combo 2 piece dark meat with 2 sides is like $ 4.5 Pro tip: spread the hot pepper juice on the chicken sides mmmmm!

It’s ok. It’s pretty decent fast food fried chicken. Nice sized pieces of chicken and a pretty good quantity of each side. GREAT prices! I ordered the 3 piece mixed combo. It came with three pieces of chicken, a good quantity of okra and mac & cheese, a roll, and a jalapeño. All for less than six bucks! Awesome value, decent fast food quality.

I’d rather make the trek to Chicken Express! The man friend went to pick up some fried chicken and we have been meaning to try Lisa’s. The chicken was good, not great. My mac and cheese was sour tasting and the okra tasted like it had been fried the day before. No thanks.

Lisa’s is a wonderful and affordable place for anything deep fried, Southern, and casual. Their tenders and fried chicken are moist and juicy on the inside and perfectly crispy on the outside. It’s better than Chicken Express or Church’s, which I often find greasy and rather small portioned. The mashed potatoes and gravy are average, but the macaroni and cheese is very cheesy and sinful tasting. Their corn nuggets are creamy on the inside and give a perfect contrast to the crunchy fried exterior. They also have catfish and shrimp, egg rolls, pizza pockets, fried burritos, and more but you can’t go without trying the chicken and their amazing fried hand pies. Apple is good, but the lemon are to die for. With or without icing, they are crispy and flaky on the outside with yummy filling. You can feed a crew of people for less than 25 dollars and there will probably be leftovers because their portions are generous and they aren’t in to skinny chickens. Lol. I will say that this location only has booths so it may be uncomfortable for those in wheelchairs or those who do not feel comfortable in booths.

Love their fried chicken! Southern juicy and very fresh. Very affordable and friendly. Not much ambiance, but who cares when you’re eating delicious food. The catfish was very good as well. Their side dishes are average, but order another piece of chicken and you won’t care…

Stop here for lunch today… thinking that the food would be the same as the one on hemphill! NEGATIVE !! it was horrible! i order the fish combo which had this nasty half cooked batter on it! it was so bad i throw the whole plate away after a couple of bite… Lisa Chicken HEMPHILL still takes the award for the best catfish! Sometimes, you luck into a place and Lisa’s is that sort of place. I’ve enjoyed chicken from them on three seperate occasions and all three were enjoyable. I even brought some to work one night and after microwaving it, the skin was still crispy after sitting in the refrigerator for a few hours. If you’re in Fort Worth and have a taste for chicken, skip the well known chains and grab a few pieces from Lisa.

Cheap food inside an old Pizza Hut building. They did not have AC or it was off. I will be back for lunch again. 3.99 for 5 tenders and 2 sides. I enjoyed the poppers.

This review is for their takeout. We had a potluck to go to and didn’t have time to cook, so we decided to give this place a try. We got a mixed bucket of fried chicken dinner which came with rolls and two sides. We are so glad that we did because the fried chicken still tasted crispy even when it was cold. If you put it in the oven for about 15 minutes at 350, it is still really good the next day. The chicken meat was juicy and not dried at all. We loved the corn on the cob but probably would not recommend the fried okra since it had to much batter. We will definitely be back and next time we want to try the fried catfish which other Unilocalers have recommended.

I love Lisa’s Chicken, this one I’ve only been to one other time but the fish is huge! They don’t have a drive thru, which was a bit of an inconvenience, also only white grave… I can live with both since the food is so good…

Lisa’s makes the best fried catfish I have ever had. Perfect breading and not at all greasy. The catfish is cooked perfectly and the texture is almost creamy. Thumbs up.

This was my first visit at this restaurant. Very average. That sums up most of the proceeding review. I should mention that I did walk in ten minutes before they closed, so I knew I probably would not benefit from exceptionally fresh food. It was obvious that the guy behind the counter was not in the mood to watch watch me study the menu, so I just ordered the #1 combo: 2 pieces of chicken, two sides, a roll, a pepper(??), and a drink(he said they didn’t have the tea — although it was on the menu so I don’t know if he meant just then or ever). The roll sucked. I almost spit out the first bite. My stale expired Ms. Baird’s bread tastes better than the roll did. The cole slaw was pretty good, nothing remarkable. The mashed potatoes were also ok, but nothing remarkable, a bit on the bland side(they didn’t include any salt or pepper — that would have helped a lot). Interestingly, the second piece of chicken tasted much better than the first. I’m guessing they were from two different batches. The chicken was the best part of the meal, the only un-average item in the combo. I couldn’t decide whether or not to give Lisa’s Chicken two stars or three. I decided on three since the food wasn’t horrible, it just wasn’t great either. I also decided to cut them some slack seeing that they were only minutes from closing. In short, I won’t go out of my way to repeat the experience, but I won’t go out of my way to avoid it. Not too far out of my way, at least. Chicken express and the other larger chains are, in my opinion, a better choice for the fried chicken experience.

It’s a Sunday. I’m hungry for some soul food but I’m in a new city so I don’t know where to go. Yet. Just give me a few weeks. Punch fried chicken into Unilocal.First place close by is this place. Who is Lisa? The name doesn’t sound like good fried chicken but new city, new places. Maybe I’ll find a gem I walked in and was impressed by the prices. The chicken dinner with 2 pieces of chicken and 2 sides for 3.99 already sounds good. I got dark meat, corn on the cob, and mashed potatoes. Did you get the number 1? No, the menu says number 4 dark meat dinner. That’s the number 1. Ok, whatever. Checked the box and it was what I ordered. Don’t understand what the heck he’s talking about when I’m looking straight at the number on the menu. Paid and got out of there The fried chicken tasted coincidentally like Church’s original. Maybe they know someone there? My opinion but I do eat chicken in some form at least 5 of 7 days of the week. The mashed potatoes were just short of awful. Yuck. From the tasteless potatoes to the tastless gravy. One more time. Yuck! No flavor. The corn on the cob was reasonable but I cook better and check my reviews. I can’t cook that well. The chicken was decent. I was down the street enjoying my sunday funday; spent a lil too much, and it was cheap. I suggest you just get the chicken and roll or go on down to church’s.

Cheap, quick, and delicious! I always buy To Go since it’s not the nicest place to sit and eat. Their fried chicken meal is decent(not always freshly hot). However, I love the 5-piece chicken tenders with gravy(~$ 4 tax included). It is usually burning hot still even by the time I get home

I do enjoy good food. I also enjoy everything in moderation. Fried chicken is healthy, right? To be honest, I really didn’t know what I wanted to eat and did a random Unilocal search not far from work here in Fort Worth. Lisa’s stood out today. Well, that and a Lebanese place. I’ll make it there eventually. If you know the downtown Fort worth area, Lisa’s is over by West 7th. It’s on University just north of it. It’s a one off place. Hole in the wall kinda place. Granted I try to stay away from chains as much as I can(although smaller ones do fine by me) so this place looked perfect. I’m not big on fried food and my limited experience with fried chicken here in Texas is Babe’s. Which is not a bad thing being that they’ve been on Food Network. As for the chicken here… well, hot and moist, and crunchy and a little salty and just really flavorful. I was just plain surprised. I like good surprises like that! The food is also really inexpensive. I paid under $ 5 for a three piece and two sides. .Slaw and mashed potatoes and they throw a nice hot pickled jalapeño to boot. Slaw was sweet and crisp. They threw white gravy on the mashed. Not a fan of white gravy. Forgot to tell em not to add it. The also have livers, gizzards, catfish and shrimp on the menu, all reasonably priced. Hot wings and chicken tenders are on there as well. This is not a place I could eat at all the time. I kinda like that my cholesterol level is under 180 and I’d like to keep it there, but damn, this is a treat that I will revisit again. Do stop in. Enjoy.

It’s true, the food is the only thing you should be focusing on when you come here. Everything is dirt cheap. Catfish dinner for $ 4.99. Chicken Fried Steak Dinner for $ 3.99. 3 Piece Fried chicken for $ 2.89? HELLYEAH!!! I also love their corn dogs and fried egg rolls $ 0.89 each. Everything is delicious and the portion they give you is HUGE and I eat A LOT. The décor is really bad though. But who cares! It’s not like you’ll bring a date to eat fried chicken. Seriously though, don’t bring your date here, she’ll kill you.

I love this place. The prices are great(hard to believe actually). The staff is stellar for a fast food restaurant. I give it 4 stars because I compare it to other chicken places that I’ve been to and it falls short in enough random places as to not warrant 5. I probably go here about once a week and it never disappointing. Menu: Pretty extensive menu! They have both white and dark meat, catfish and shrimp. A nice number of sides(corn on the cob, fried okra, fries, mashed potatoes etc.) Beverage choices are the average soda fountain with choices from coke products. They have a combo for just about anything. Price: $, This place is incredibly cheap. I’m in med school and have a budget that I need to adhere to. Also I don’t have a lot of time to cook so going here is quick and painless on the wallet. Taste: I have tasted better chicken before but not by much and I have had far worse! Considering that this is the closest chicken place that’s not a Raising Cain’s or Chicken express, this place is amazing. I’d recommend giving this place a try! I’ll probably be in sometime this week. I’m due for a visit.
