I have tried a couple of their master stylists, Jennifer and Debra. They were just ok. I never walked out feeling like a million bucks. I was always like, ok it’s acceptable. Not impressed by the stylists at all. People are nice and the atmosphere is great. But I wasn’t there for that. And please, DONOT see Sarah ah the Hulen location. She is by far the worst stylist that I have ever had in my life. She effed up my hair cut like 6 months ago and I am still trying to grow it out and have someone to fix it. She is the worst. The manager, Daniel, he doesn’t call you back if you leave a request that you want to talk to him. Don’t expect him to call you because that will never happen. Sadly, I am still searching for a stylist who really knows hair. Bye bye lemongrass.

I just moved and had an amazing experience. Allison did my hair. She listened to me and did what I asked. Perfect experience!

I love this salon. For those who think it’s overpriced you get what you pay for. It’s pretty typical for a full highlight and cut in Texas. So not sure why it’s considered overpriced. Angela is the best. She gets my hair the best shade and I get a TON of compliments on it daily. Seriously. I would never consider going anywhere else or to anyone else. I love aveda products and have been using them for 20 years.

Man, Laura is my GIRL! I am somewhat new to Fort Worth and I was very scarred after having a terrible haircut last summer and haven’t touched it since. I went to Lemongrass on my birthday this year, they fit me in the day that I called and were very nice about it. I showed up an hour after I had called and they immediately took my name and gave me some hot tea with honey. Laura was my stylist and she really listened to my needs and never pushed me to do something I didn’t want to do or buy any products. She understood that curly hair doesn’t always need to have layers and to not chop my length off. She gave me a wonderful scalp massage, hand massage, conditioning treatment, cut, and blow dry/straightening. I left feeling(and smelling) like a hundred bucks. She also gave me a bag full of samples because it was my birthday. The only complaint I had was the 80s/90s music that was very loud in the front. It was okay during the haircut but when I was getting my hair washed and scalp massage, it kind of overpowered the relaxing music in the back of the salon.

I live in NYC and when I visit my parents in Ft. Worth, I can’t WAIT to get my hair done here! Jen is IT. She always listens to what I want done with my color and executes it perfectly. This time I wanted a natural honey/buttery tone to my highlights and she nailed it. I also had my brows done by Heather and she was a total pro and even threw in an eyebrow tint at the end. I’m absolutely returning to both of these ladies the next time I’m back!

The website explains in detail the price for all over color and for some reason I was charged double. Not only did I end up blow drying my own hair, but she also cut my hair dry so it looks like Edward Scissorhands got a hold of it :(

While I am loyal to my highlight stylist in Dallas, I don’t mind who trims my hair because it’s a simple cut so I usually mix it up on who cuts my hair so I decided to try this place on a whim before vacation. They paired me with Lindsay and she did a great job. Everyone at the salon was really nice. They offer a nice experience all around for the money, head massage and hand massage. I’ll definitely go back for another trim in the future. PS. there is also a great nail spa in the same lot — Venetian Nails — all the girls in the salon had the powder gel nails and so I asked where they got them done — walked right over to Venetian after my trim LOL and got my nails done. Two thumbs up!

I came in here to buy a product and was pleasantly greeted by the manager. He asked me if I’d be interested in a tour, which I’d never had that offered to me but thought it would be nice since I didn’t have a salon that I was going to at the time. I have now been going here for about 2 years and have had a very good experiences all the time. I love the hand massages although I don’t get them all the time and am not sure if I should request them. I also love the scalp massage that I get before getting my hair washed. An issue I found is that I have chosen to go with the most inexpensive haircuts which are approximately $ 45, because I only get minor trims. I found the«hard» way that if your stylist gets a promotion then her prices go up and I wasn’t warned about this so my bill jumped about $ 15, I THINK. I have had a few different stylists and I’ve been happy with all of them. The shampooing area has such a nice ambiance for relaxing but unfortunately it’s very loud. They text you to notify you of your appointment and they also call. Overall, the place is great. And I really like the customer service provided by them.

I got a one hour facial from Jamie today and it was amazing! She was very informative and didn’t seem to mind that I asked a million questions. The facial included a foot soak, while we talked about my facial needs, a foot, shoulder, and scalp massage. The only reason I gave four stars is because the room in which I got my facial was so close to the hair washing station of the salon that all I could hear were the hairdressers talking with clients the whole time, which wasn’t very relaxing. Other than that everyone was very welcoming and sweet. The girl at the front counter welcomed me right away and offered me water and tea as I waited to be taken back. Altogether, I was very pleased with my experience here and Jamie gave me five star facial.

Worst haircut ever! Visited the Lemongrass Salon on Hulen and walked out with the worst haircut of my life! I would not recommend this place to anyone. After describing in great detail how I wanted my hair cut, the so called«stylist» did not listen to a thing I said, the chops were horrific and so unblended that I had to go to ANOTHER salon to have a repair cut done.

I haven’t been here to use the salon, I just pop in to buy product. I’m obsessed with the madder root conditioner that keeps my red hair from fading between touch ups. The girls are always very friendly and make checking out a breeze. They usually have a few ‘tester’ products from the other stores in the plaza for you to play with and the delicious tea is free flowing.

It was my first time going to any Lemongrass location and I went to the Hulen one. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. Christina cut my hair and I absolutely love my new hair! From the moment I walked in the door I felt like I was the most important person in the room. I highly recommend this salon!

I am on the hunt for a new Salon/Stylist and got so excited about this place when reading the reviews. I called to make an appointment and the girl on the phone was so RUDE and unhelpful that I couldn’t even get through the process before giving up! She wasn’t qualified to book appointments, I hope they keep her away from the shears!

I have been here a few times before when I visit Fort Worth and have always had the best service and experience. This time I popped in without an appointment and they were able to fit me in for a wash and blow out. The wash includes the best head massage ever! and as they were blowing out my hair someone came around to do a complimentary hand massage. Their attention to detail and service is a must. Their makeup selection is great as well!

I am not all impressed with the spa at this location. I am a pure privileges member and tried to use my award points at this location and was not at all impressed with the customer service when I had to cancel my appointment and reschedule. I would not recommend this spa and especially people who are used to other Aveda salons

My daughter finally found a salon that meets her expectations, but my wallet screamed

I posted a 5 star rating because I have not actually used the services at Lemongrass therefore I would not want to bring down their rating concerning services. I do however want to give a buyer beware warning. The salon I normally use for waxing was booked and I needed a quick appointment somewhere else. In order to book my $ 15 appointment they wanted my credit card to hold the appointment. I declined and went elsewhere. People, do not give your credit/debit card info to a retail store. Retail stores have a notoriously high turn over and the salon industry is one of the worst. My daughter works in retail and while her company is abnormally picky about the people they hire they still have employees that get involved in credit card fraud. It’s quite shocking. I’ve had my debit card info stolen twice and it’s a nightmare. Why set yourself up for that on purpose?

I’ve never before treated myself to this kind of salon experience. Somehow, I’d always managed to get by with highlights every 3 – 4 months, cutting my own bangs, and even dyeing my own hair with a $ 4 box from Walgreens. And so, of course, my hair was mostly a mess and therefore continually piled on top of my head in a huge bun. I decided it was time to try something new. See, I’ve always wanted to sport super platinum blonde hair without looking porn-star-esque. But that’s nearly impossible to achieve with box-dye without totally annihilating your hair, and I’ve been told before by stylists that it wouldn’t be the best idea(too damaging, too much maintenance, it wouldn’t look good, etc.). But I had to achieve this platinum dream at least once in my life! So, I begin looking up salons on Unilocal to see which ones are giving people the hair they want. Lemongrass on University has a stellar rating, so I called. They were super nice on the phone and said to me, «tell me what you’re looking for… tell me about your hair.» Once I answered, I was immediately told«we can do that,» and that I’d be paired with a stylist named Taylor who does great blonde coloring. I love that they listened to my thoughts and knew exactly which stylist would be the best fit. When I walked into Lemongrass for my appointment, I fell in love with all the bright scents going on. A lot of times salons have that distinctive bleach-y, perm-y, chemical-y smell. You know what I’m saying? Lemongrass smells like… lemongrass. Duh. Herbs, mint, lavender, citrus… there are like 10,000 Aveda products for sale in the front half of the building, plus hot tea for your sipping pleasure. The back half is where all the salon action happens. It’s clean, it’s peaceful, it’s not overcrowded, and everyone is totally professional. Taylor shook my hand, sat me down, and began explaining how she’d give me the hair I wanted. She actually explained the coloring technique she thought would be best, the foiling technique, different routes we could take, and how all this would affect my hair. She asked for my opinion and if I was okay with her suggestions. If not, we could talk about different methods. I felt like Taylor REALLY cared about what I wanted. It was amazing! She was the sweetest. In the end, I got the hair color(and cut) that I wanted, and I love it. Now, this took time… almost 4 hours! The foiling alone took an hour, and then I sat for an hour to let the color lift. Afterwards, it was time for the wash(which was like a fabulous scalp massage), and then I had a conditioning treatment done to better revive and protect my hair from the color. THEN I had my hair cut and styled! I got my hands massaged with lotion(they’re seriously soft now), and I walked away from this whole experience adoring my hair, Taylor, Lemongrass, and Aveda products! The only thing that didn’t make me feel totally peachy was the cost. You’ll definitely pay. But estimated rates are on their website, so no surprises!

I have gone to Debra 3 times now and have been thrilled with the color each time. This last time, my cut was uneven and I had to wack at it a bit when I got home. I should have called and had her fix it, but I left on vacation the next day and felt weird calling after 2 weeks. I am giving it 3 stars for price(I think it is very expensive) and cut, and 5 for color. Debra told me about specials they had on deep conditioner which I splurged on, but she was off on the price so I was a bit shocked when I got to the counter and it was pricier than I thought. It did help my hair and ended up being money well spent. Also, they give a free hand massage and make up touch up which is very nice! Even with the uneven cut, I highly recommend Debra, she is great with my difficult hair!
