Hoffbrau Steaks – Fort Worth

Been here a few times now and it has been consistently good.
They wait staff is always prompt and courteous and very attentive.
I normally have the steak salad and it is more than enough to fill me up. I especially like their wheat rolls!
Great place to stop when you are int the area.

Not that special, two guest and myself sent streak back. I do not plan on going back.

Went there on Wednesday ⁰⁵⁄₂₅ to celebrate 3 friends Birthdays. As always the food was excellent. I had the Fillet and Shrimp. Excellent for the price. Salads are a big portion as well.

The smallest steak is what I wanted but it was really tough. My dog was very happy.
My friend said her food was too spicy. We sent it back. Everyone was very nice here. But i felt they should have given some partial discount. We left a 20 percent tip but the service was slow on bringing the check. Just wish the steaks were better.

I have to say this was our 1^st visit there and I was blown away! From the lovely sweet tea and appetizers to the salad, bread and entrée, they were ALL SO Amazing!!! I was even happier to see our tab at the end and after experincing such horrible service at a «top notch» Ruth Chris resturant Hands dwn Hoffbrau has me excited to return and not to mention some steak houses are just plain OVER PRICED, hoffbrau is definently a WIN-​win. Our server was attentive bt not intrusive and that I LIKE, thanks Nate! See you guys again soon P. s The Bacon wrapped shrimp appetizers ARE A MUST!!!

I ordered the Brazos Candied Bacon Burger with a side of steak fries and it was fantastic! The burger was juicy and full of flavor, and the fries were perfectly seasoned. Also had the delicious fried green tomatoes. Our server was nice as well.

No one at the hostess station when we arrived so we waited a bit. Finally a «hostess» shows up with another person in tow but instead of greeting us they just grabbed a handful of menus and looked at us. Finally she broke the silence and asked «Three adults and one child?» We confirmed she could count and judge ages by our physical appearance and she walked off assuming we would follow. We did.
Décor is very, very dated. My chair was so wobbly I thought it might break. Felt like one of those places you carve your name in the table.
Our waitress took our orders and tried to be friendly but was obviously just going through the motions. She flubbed the order on several items (wrong drink, wrong steak, forgot a side or ranch). My wife ended up eating her meal after everyone else finished due to the wrong steak being brought out. Wife offered to go ahead and eat it anyway but the waitress whisked it away to go get the right steak ordered.
My chicken fried steaks (yes, two of them on one order) was one of the lowest quality I’ve ever had. Everything was just kind of bland. The beer was good — Shiner in a bottle so they did something right…
Not often I leave a $ 0 tip, I did on this occasion. Go somewhere else is my advice.

Cold Beers, Fried Pickles, Candied Bacon and Thick Juicy Rib Eyes. All were GREAT! After going there I know why the wait was so long, but worth it! HIGHLY RECOMMEDED!

I have been here a couple of times now and they have both been nice visits. Admittedly I put off trying HS because I thought it was German fare. It is not, it’s All-​American fare and lots of it! Portions are large and should satisfy most appetites.
Overall, food and service have both been very good. I have had the chicken-​fried steak and on my second visit the grilled sausage. I would go back for the CFS for sure. Oh, and the candied bacon appetizer is definitely something to be tried!
Parking can be a bit of a pain when it’s busy but other than that, Hoffbrau is a big thumbs-​up for me.

This place doesn’t disappoint! Steaks here are off the charts and it doesn’t stop there. The Dr Pepper chicken is some of the best chicken I’ve ever had (little high on calories) but hey you have to treat yourself every once and a while. Some of the best corn on the cob I’ve ever had plus the brau chips are a great appetizer for a group of 3 or 4 people. I recommend bringing a date here or having a family dinner here, great place all around!

I have eaten there before and it was great! Tonight was very disappointing, so we probably won’t be going back. While waiting on our table we sat at the bar, ordered two beers and was charged for four. A lady finally fixed that error.
We ordered the 10 ounce ribeye steak and was served the 13 ounce steak which was more expensive. When we pointed it out to our waitress, her reply was not to «fix» it but stated «oh, my bad, I thought you ordered the big one.» No, we did not.
We asked for our drinks, she said coming right up. The food was delivered, still no tea and water. We requested bread with our meal, never saw any bread.
The steak was very fatty and for the price was not worth it. Just very disappointed in the food and the service tonight. When it’s your birthday and you spend over one hundred dollars, you expect good service and food. Hoffbrau’s has let me down.

Hoffbrau Steakhouse is in United mileage plus dining. Because my mother is obsessed with maintaining her United status, we frequently seek out restaurants that participate in the mileage plus program. Hey, I’m definitely not complaining.
I was impressed with Hoffbrau’s casual ambiance because the food they serve is pretty good quality and its relatively inexpensive. Where I’m from, steakhouses are either super expensive or really cheap, but Hoffbrau is a good, reasonably priced place with great food.
My mother and I shared the dinner for two, and it was more than enough food for us. The steak was cooked perfectly and I liked the sides it came with. We also had fried okra (ehhh, it was ok) and banana pudding (so good!). I liked the banana pudding a lot. I had recently tried magnolia bakery’s famous banana pudding, which was like $ 5 for a tiny scoop. Hoffbrau’s is way more affordable and it came with triple the amount. So yummy!
Service was good, not exceptional, and not bad. They also have a bar area where the TCU fans go to watch games. I’ll probably be back, especially for the pudding!

This location is consistently good and we always get great service. The texas pesos with ranch is one of our favorites and we always order it to go into our salads (fatty). The jalepeno broccoli cheddar soup is one of the best I’ve had since the soup is nice and spicy. Rainey’s salad is a Cobb salad on steroids, choose your weapon with grilled or fried chicken. One of the best things on the menu, though, is definitely their banana pudding. Omg. Fresh bananas, whipped cream, pudding, and nilla wafers for days. Too bad the location in Arlington closed down *sigh

We needed something solid since my son plays football for TCU so we thought steakhouse and this is close to campus… So I’ll start with that I had to send my steak back because it was way over cooked. The replacement was great though, manager came to see if the second one was better. No discount or comp for the inconvenience of having to eat after everyone was done… I wish they would have at least let me keep my side to snack on while they remade my steak. I had the sirloin and it had better flavor than hubs rib eye! Well after it was cooked right. Son had chicken fried steak and it was good. A little on the bland side but still good. Sons friend had the candied bacon burger and it he said it was good. We also had the fried pickles and the chips. Chips were good. Fred’s Texas still has the best fried pickles. Our waiter Greg, I’m sure his intentions are good but the constant sarcasm and jokes were overkill. A few here and there would have been fine but seriously everything was a joke and it got so annoying we didn’t even want to ask for refills because we didn’t want to hear it anymore. It was pretty obvious from our TCU apparel we were affiliated somehow but that didn’t stop or filter the TCU jokes. When I asked where the bathroom was he started to say something about a tree outside and I got up in the middle of what he was saying to just go find it myself. With the exceptions of the steak we had to send back and the joke master waiter I guess we would come back but it’s not really a priority at this point.

Stopping here to eat was a spur of the moment decision. I was impressed by the friendliness of the staff.
The restaurant was clean and well laid out, although, I did eat at the bar. Prices are lower to moderate for the quality and amount of food, I was actually surprised. There’s not a great wine selection but the one that I had was good. I’m not a beer drinker but they had a variety on tap.
I ordered fillets and shrimp and I was very impressed. The portion size was excellent, the food was cooked exactly as ordered. I was also impressed by the fact that the shrimp or seasoned and pan cooked not battered and fried. I will definitely return.
I newly became a traveler in the Fort Worth area and needed some advice on shopping and some specifics for my daughter who is going to school here. The bar staff was extremely helpful as were some of the patrons at the bar. Overall a very lovely evening.

Great food, too much of it really. Has anybody noticed the child molestery guy who makes animal noises though? Creep of a waiter for sure.

This Hoffbrau is packed at lunch! They have lots of specials including $ 8 tilapia which my friends both ordered and loved. One got mashed potatoes the other fried whole okra. I got the avocado chicken salad, which was good except for the avocado, which was not quite ripe and had a weird filmy oil on a tan underside, pretty gross. The grilled chicken was very tasty and the iceberg mix was crisp and the spicy ranch was nice. The portions here are large. They serve good rolls with your meal. Service is solid. Overall I would not be inclined to return unless it was to meet with these friends who I love, but seem to have less refined palettes. There are too many other awesome spots nearby at all price points to suffer mere average food.

Came here for lunch, we had great service! Our waiter was awesome! Ordered fried okra for the appetizer and avocado salad for my entrée. The salad came with pico, avocados, and spicy ranch. The chicken in the salad was dry… didn’t enjoy the chicken part. Everyone else at my table ordered burgers/​a chicken sandwich and those tasted great! Probably would not recommend the avocado salad (w/​o chicken) unless you’re a vegetarian. But overall 4 out of 5 stars for the service and quality of the food.
Also, the jalapeño jelly was yummy with the chips served as sides. :)

Third time coming to this place and I have yet to find something bad to eat or bad service. Tonight I came here with extended family and it was a great time. The waitress was patient and friendly. Not knowing what to order tonight I ended up with the steam salad and it was delicious. I asked for medium on the steak and it was cooked to perfection. The steak was juicy and well seasoned. The rolls that come to the table taste like a honey wheat roll. I could have eaten the whole basket but stuck to just one.
In previous visits I have had the famous country fried steak which was a very Texas dish. It was big enough for two people to share. I also have had the smoked steak which is a after 4 on weekends only special. It reminded me of prime rib but it had a lot of flavor and was very tasty.
I am dying to try their peach cobbler and banana pudding but can’t bring myself to order it after such an amazing meal.
