I’ve never had a better experience when visiting the eye doctor. I’ve been a patient for two years, and the staff was very welcoming and helpful with insurance questions. The doctors answer all my questions and I always leave feeling good.

If you are looking for a true Ophthalmologist, look elsewhere — this place is primarily an Optometry business. I needed to see an ophthalmologist for a complicated eye issue, and based on a friend’s recommendation, I went to see Dr. Chu(the son). I was put thru the optometry eye exam process and had to specifically say that I was there to see an ophthalmologist; this took some persuasion before the tech relented and had me go to Dr. Chu’s exam room.(BTW, I specifically asked for an ophthalmologist when I made the appointment.) Once Dr. Chu examined my eyes, he determined he could not help me so he referred me to another specialty ophthalmologist. Just getting the name and checking out of the office took a *long* time, and I’m not sure what the hold up was so this left me with a bad feeling that this practice is too big and busy. Luckily I found an awesome ophthalmologist(not the one Dr. Chu recommended), who is part of *true* ophthalmology practice in Fort Worth and this doctor took care of my eyes. Verdict: go to Eyeworks for your optometry needs but NOT for your ophthalmology needs.

My daughter wear glasses since she was a toddler. I could have gone to places where I would have pretty much Have all expenses covered for the exams by my insurance at work, but read the reviews and chose this place for tree years in a roll. The third time I went there I asked for the prescription for her glasses and the salesperson seemed to be upset I was going to buy her glasses somewhere else. Finally Got the prescription and went to Costco. Thanks to their perfectionism at costco optical, they realized that they had gave me the wrong prescription at Eyeworks! After paying their examinations fees they gave me the wrong prescription! They didn’t care, since I didn’t buy the glasses there! Wasn’t for Costco great customer service, asking why I haven’t had another exam this year I would have trown all my money in the trash, plus my daughter would be wearing the wrong prescription glasses. Terrible. Be aware and be very carefull…

Despite my lack of insurance to pay for frames or lenses– I still shop here. They have a lab in store so when I purchased my lovely Chanel eyeglasses they were ready in about 2 hours. I also purchased some sunglasses at a sunglass hut and brought them here to have RX lenses put in. It’s not cheap, but they do excellent work and get things back to you in a timely manner. The woman that usually helps me is this tall, blonde Russian. I’m a terrible person because I can’t remember her name! She is great. They a

I’ve only been to one appointment, so hesitate to give them a 5 star review just yet. I will say that Dr. Richard Chu and the EyeWorks staff were very friendly and attentive. The«first impression» was definitely a good one and I will be going back. I made the mistake of going to a big box retailer previously, definitely won’t do that again!

I saw Dr. Lena Chu last January. She put me in progressive eye glasses and hard contacts, then said I needed some plugs for my tear ducts for dry eyes. My eyesight got worse over the year and my glasses never seemed to work for seeing close up. I went to a different doctor this year. He said I should have never been placed in hard contacts and with my stigmatism and the plugs were so I could tolerate the hard contacts. Also, the glasses that they placed me in were narrow and I would never be able to get the progressive lens that i needed. I spent a great deal of money and am still getting bills from this center. I feel I did not get appropriate care and could never recommend this doctor.

I had cataract surgery done by Dr Richard Chu and it went extraordinarily well. No discomfort at all after surgery, no complications and I now have the 20⁄20 vision I have not had for years. He turned what I expected to be a worrying experience into something routine.

As a physician myself, I can be fairly critical of other medical professionals if they don’t meet my admittedly high standards. Dr. Lena Chu has cared for me for more than 20 years, and I can only say that she has always been the most caring, professional, and helpful vision professional I have ever worked with. Yes, they are a bit on the pricey side. But you get what you pay for. The last time I had new lenses made for my frames, she recommended I go with plastic lenses rather than glass. However, since I have always had glass lenses, I insisted. Well, once I got the glasses, I knew she was right. They were way too heavy. The plastic ones have worked out great! And, there was no charge for correcting my mistake. As a surgeon and someone who is a bit vain about glasses, I have worn contact lenses for more than 25 years. Dr. Chu has always been very accommodating in helping me to get my contact lenses(«Monovision») to work well with both my professional endeavors and my other nonprofessional hobbies, such as motorcycling. The recently renovated facility is quite handsome, the staff has always been extremely helpful and friendly, and they have a great selection of frames to choose from. I highly recommend Dr. Chu, her family and associates, and her place of business.

Had some glasses made for my daughter at this location. Already had the prescription, so just needed to have the glasses made. They were quite busy, but the lady who assisted us was very nice and polite. The only reason that it’s not 5 stars is that the selection was a bit pricy, but they are willing to work with you and your insurance. They make the glasses on location and they really went out of their way to get our glasses made that same day as my daughter was leaving for college. Have recommended this location many times now as I just love their location and service!

Dr Robert Chu is the Asian Saint of sight: –fits really complex contacts & glasses –cares & listens so much he doesn’t leave your side until you are happy and satisfied –works ins and outs of insurance plans to benefit you the most –top quality scans of the eyes and preventative health screenings. Having off the charts high astigmatism and horrible eyesight, no other doctor in the metroplex could fit me. Dr Chu is able to get gel flex lenses custom made overseas to fit my specific eyeball size so the contacts don’t rotate on my eye. Yes they are more expensive $ 699 a year but if that is the price to see I’d pay anything and tip Dr Chu extra. He is that good. I can see 20⁄20 and have stumped so many terrible doctors in the past. Screw all of them for wasting my time, Dr Chu is the King and I’m so grateful I found him We only get two eyes at birth(if lucky) we better take good care of them people and I give all of mine and my loyalty to Dr Chu

My family and I all just got back from getting glasses at this location. We were greeted warmly by all 3 secretaries at the front desk. The décor was so modern! We loved it! Forgot we were in Fort Worth! Then we had a short wait and then within 5 minutes we all sat down and had these modern eye testing machines that was very fast. We then got placed in a room and saw Dr. Chu who came in and did the eye exam all together and was very pleasant. The conversation was really relaxed and friendly. Then we were escorted to other part of the office and met up with Mike who was extremely knowledgeable and up to date on fashion eye wear. He picked out excellent choices for our whole family! All our friends have been asking where we got our glasses at! And we will now only go back to Eyeworks as we literally had a great experience and everyone was really super nice!

I went there for an eye exam to get prescription for contact lens and glasses. The quality of care is very bad in the sense that they do not want to explain anything to me UNLESS you ask very specific questions. I have light astigmatism around –1.0 and I had discount on one brand of CL with astigmatism. So they assume that’s the one I’m going to purchase without even offering me other brands to try on. During the exam, Dr. Lena Chu asked me 3 times to check out their frame selection after I already told her I already did while waiting for the exam. I was shocked when I saw the bill after the exam. They waived $ 100+ off for the regular exam as my insurance would only pay up to certain amount, but the CL fitting fee was around $ 160! And of course, the desk clerk gave me only my regular glasses prescription and forgot to give me the reading/computer glasses prescription. She said she forgot and they had no fax/scan machine – that I have to go in again to pick it up myself(they would not mail it). They wouldnt’ give me the CL prescription either and say I have to order through them. it stil irks me when I write this review 3 months later.

I totally hate to do this update but inquiring Unilocalers should know the Real. After patronizing this business for as long as I have when it was Hulen Eyecare I must sever ties with all dealings and association. After having my last exam in 07⁄12 I was again for the second time provided with the wrong perscription in my newly high designer end frames. Not to mention being over charged on several services. The new office account person is not honest and the services being rendered for a complete exam by doctor is aged questionable to the highest dispute. Loyality of good paying service now days is for in between of being provided nowadays. It’s sad to see business of the calibur who struggled to grow to this magnitude and than be disloya on service to seasoned customers. Choosing to take my business elsewhere have never felt so good along with letting future prospects that may want to patronize Eyeworks know to be warned and informed. And with the completion of this update I put my triple CLUCK stamp of approval on this.

Dealing with Eyeworks hasn’t been a very smooth process over the past couple of years, and they’re expensive to boot. Here’s just my most recent experience with a simple contact prescription: The trial pair I got after the first exam seemed off, so I came back for a second exam. Turns out the doc forgot to check for astigmatism, even though my old prescription showed I was astigmatic in one eye. After the second exam, administrative staff sent my contact vendor the wrong prescription for one eye, which has caused all kinds of confusion and many unnecessary phone calls. Long story short, I’d recommend looking elsewhere for regular eye exams. You can always come here to pick up designer frames if that’s your thing.
