Be very careful when selecting a subscription TV company. We purchased Direct TV’s insurance for electronics to be repaired or replaced. It has taken a month for us to solve our Panasonic TV repair. They subcontract out their work to inadequate smaller companies. We were told our TV would be delivered first thing on Friday and I took off of work to wait for them and they never arrived. I called them several times to find out what was happening and found out that they would reschedule the delivery for Saturday morning and they still didn’t call nor did they show up. Meanwhile, they are in possession of my TV. My husband called to find out what time they were coming and they hung up on him. Direct TV is not only expensive they are inept. They have become too big and their service suffers for it. Look at the internet of all the people who have complained and you will see you will be better off doing business elsewhere.

Directv does not reward long time customers. I was a customer for 6 years was lied to by staff, and when I confronted supervisor, she basically didn’t care. Then cancelled my account without my permission. I have never missed a payment for 6 years. Called Dish network and they gave me a great deal and will be installing tomorrow! I would stay away from Directv

Easily the worst subscription television company in the area. We originally got DirecTV years ago after getting conned into switching from Dish Network. The idiots whom installed the DirecTV system didn’t ground their equipment correctly and the first time we had a storm, most of the appliances in our home blew out. They came out and replaced their system, although we had to replace our appliances ourselves. Then when they offered Hughes Net, my cousin got it for his house across the creek from us. When his mother died and their home burned down, he moved in with us and brought his Hughes Net system over here and we got it all set up. When he moved in with his brother a few months later, we tried to get them to transfer it over to us(since we were already paying for it each month, anyway). They needed to speak with my aunt, first… screw the fact that she was dead. Apparently, that didn’t matter. When we finally got that temporarily taken care of and it was time to renew or cancel the service, we cancelled it. They then attempted to charge us for additional months AFTER the cancellation date. Suffice to say, they’ve been unable to get that money from us(especially since they were still trying to go through my dead aunt to do it). We finally went back to Dish Net. The service was a heck of a lot more reliable and their technicians actually helped you when you called. This past summer, though… DirecTV tried once more to sucker us away via a Dish Net/DirecTV salesman. Yeah, I’m calling him out. He tried contacting us for a month saying that he could get us the Hopper from Dish Network and upgrade our system. He drove out here in his Dish Network van, and after meeting with him for about 40 minutes(and describing all of the problems we’d had with DirecTV and how we’d never ever go back to them), he says that for us to get the Hopper, we’d have to cancel our Dish Network account and sign up with DirecTV for two years, then go back to Dish Network when it was over. Yeah… Dish Network guy told me to cancel our service and take up with DirecTV. Sorry, but the Hopper upgrade ain’t worth putting up with DirecTV, again. Period.

This is my second and final time with Directv. The first year was Dec 2011 and ETF paid Jan 2012. In May 2012, they offered service for $ 39.99 for the first year if I come back. What they failed to tell me was that the box would be an analog SD box that cannot be used on an HDTV. The upgrade cost me an additional $ 20.00 monthly for the HD box and HD service. Further, I do not have access to on demand that is available with DVR service, which I would have to pay $ 200.00 for the receiver plus leasing fee. I will new doing another ETF next year. I only have Directv in one room and the cost during the second year is as much as it was when I had the service in five room.

directtv customer service is horrible. they set an appointment for me to be home between 12 – 4 and never showed up. i called numerous times and could never get anybody to actually show up. i am a current customer and all i needed was for them to bring 1 hd receiver! i could install it myself!!! i was never offered an explanation as to why they didn’t show up and when i asked for a supervisor they told me there was nobody available. so i wasted 7 hours of my day dealing with this and i still don’t have my box. bad review bad review bad review
