Order the spicy catfish & turnip greens, mac&chesse, mashed potatoes. Food was good and fresh. I was alil spectacle about ordering catfish here but its was actually really good! Veggies were fresh. My only compliant would like to be the biscuits and the cornbread wasn’t really hot even the second batch that was brought to the table !!! You know those have to be hot & fresh to melt butter on an #getyourlife!

Home style breakfast done well, all the favorites my momma cooked. Pancakes are fluffy, bacon and sausage are crisp and tasty, biscuits and gravy are sinful delights! Very busy place and can be a tad loud at times, but highly recommended.

The fastest service for a full house! 3 waiters helped us with excellent quality hot food. Joshua waited on us with big smiles. Refilling our drinks non stop, bring us Togo cups filled with our beverage all while every table was filled with customers. The new fresh strawberries & lemon cream cheese French toast is filled with spring flavor. I will order it again. James brought me a warm water bowl and towels so I could clean my finger tips after I asked for moist towelettes. They were out but James was fast on his feet to help me. Maria refilled our coffee to many times to count. We fell in love with the fresh coffee it complimented our breakfast.

This location is okay. The manager is friendly and busy. Made his way around the dining room and was immediately making small talk and jokes with the patrons. When the line at the checkout got long he immediately jumped in to cash out customers. He actually impressed me that he knew what was going on, for the most part in his building. Our server was friendly and repeated back our order. When he can by the table to check on us, he repeated, several times, our request, but was slow to bring what we asked for. For example, more coffee. I only drank 3 cups because that is all I could get out of him. Ok, 4, he did give me one to go. My friend asked for water when he ordered his lemonade, I had told him I would take one too, but he never brought mine. Which was okay because I drink coffee like water, and did not realize I needed the backup until my coffee mug stayed empty. Food: We came just after 6pm and the hostess offed us breakfast menus. We politely declined as we came for supper. I got the Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad, and my friend got the Special, Buttermilk Chicken Fried Chicken, with corn and mac n cheese. My salad was ok. Some of the lettuce looked like they needed to get use it quick. My friend made the comment to me that his chicken was a bit over cooked. But we ate without complaints. Even with the construction on I35 and Meacham Blvd, the location is convenient and I am sure I will be back.

If you’ve not been to a Cracker Barrel before, they have a charm that is a bit different compared with other chain stores. At least you feel you’ve gone to some kind of restaurant that transports you to another place, so to speak. Not just a generic dry walled building. There is some charm to be had. Big wooden rockers adorn the front. You enter the dark wooden structure through a somewhat fun and a touch different gift shop. The gift shop has some rather odd items, some classic old treats and generic gift stuff. I am able to pick up occasional gift items when I eat there and know a birthday is coming. The old fireplace is huge and had some burning wood in it, nice effect. Felt homey. The menu is basic and essentially southern comfort food. I can’t say I’ve ever had anything here that set me on fire in a good way. I do sometimes think their food is so bland, way so over bland, that they could try a little harder to make it have some pizzaz. I would give them higher points, but it is all so simple and basic. If that is your thing, you will love it. But there isn’t an ounce of butter, grease, flavorings, etc to be noted. Just really basic basic basic. Want grits with no flavor or butter? Check. Want chicken fried steak or a fried fish patty served with traditional(but bland) side dishes? Check. Biscuits and gravy with your breakfast? Check. Just don’t expect the gravy to have any flavor, no fat, no butter, nothing but flour and milk. Check. Endless normal coffee? Check. They do have a small peg game on every table, nice touch that is a little different than the average restaurant. I asked the friendly waitress what kind of good breakfast they had(at 5pm, no less), one of their biggest and baddest. She recommended the Country Boy breakfast, I think it was called. Came with two eggs cooked to your style, either sweet or salty ham or one other choice(but no bacon option, which I thought odd), hash browns, and biscuits and gravy and grits. I have to say, it seemed all down to Earth real home cooked food. The salty ham was a decent slab of ham, fat and all. It was all decent. It is really simple and basic. It seems to be home cooked, best I can tell. But it is bland. I couldn’t put enough pepper and salt to flavor it. No butter flavoring, just nothing. I suppose that is good if you like really bland generic but authentic unspoiled and little added flavor food. I suppose it depends on the person. I’m a spice man or some kind of flavoring king, give me grease, butter, salt, pepper, jalapeños, SOMETHING to make it taste a little fun. Hot sauce is nice. I grew up with food like this. It isn’t bad if you want basic simple southern comfort no frills food with a cramped fun gift shop. I do like the big chairs out front, rather fun. Did I mention their food has no spice, flavorings added, and is super bland? But genuine.

Been to numerous locations especially when road tripping in Tennessee. Always good for what it is. This location is close to my new job so I am sure I will be a frequent guest picking up to go orders for me and my co-workers. Their to-go orders always go smoothly(never eaten in at this location). Fried Chicken Livers are good! I have also had the Pecan Crusted Catfish and Southern Trout off the Wholesome Fixins 600 or less calories. For sides I like the fried okra, mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli, and seasonal veggies in that order. Front porch has rockers and chairs for sale and parking lot has RV parking.

The breakfast sampler has everything you could want in a breakfast. It has bacon, eggs, grits and pancakes and much more. The service is awesome, they won’t let you run out of anything and are very nice.

If someone blindfolded you and put you in this place then took the blindfold off, you could not tell if you are in Flagstaff, AZ, Sioux Falls, SD, Casa Grande, AZ or one of many CB’s I have been to. And you always get the same thing, great country cooking with friendly service. Now, since we have been to this rodeo before, we have a routine. First we order, then while they prepare our food, the wife goes shopping. The rookie mistake of eating and then waiting for her to go shopping was gone long ago. This also gives her only 20 minutes to buy things to put in our suit cases. See experience matters! So we are here in Texas on a Sunday night and its about 8PM and we are looking for BBQ near the stockyard and everything is closed. I’m from LA, I can get tacos at 2AM if I so desire but you can’t get BBQ on Sunday after 6PM in Fort Worth. So its Unilocal to the rescue and I see the Cracker Barrel. Everyone was really happy with their meal. We all took a little piece of my wife’s fried chicken and as always, it was amazing. The biscuits and corn muffins really hit the spot for a hungry group. I had breakfast with a sausage patty, bacon and ham with eggs all for under $ 8. CB to the rescue!

This is a chain and yes it’s definitely southern food. It’s not going to be light! Think fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, biscuits and sausage gravy, etc. This place is close to the office so if I want to pick up breakfast in bulk for my front office staff this is a go to. The cashiers are super friendly and there’s so much junk in the store front to peruse while you wait for your to go order.

Three strikes and they are out! This is by far the worst customer service anywhere we have been. Twice we have called in to go orders and both times they only put in half the order with mistakes. The second time my husband actually stood there with the lady who brought out the food and made her look at the order and see that they were missing two whole entrees. She had the call in list in her hand and tried to argue with my husband that we didn’t order those items. Duh, it is in you hand that your store printed out. The manager got upset with my husband for demanding to have the missing items given to us. Third time we went back was a few months later, this week. Ordered eggs, mashed potatoes with gravy and biscuits. My husband waited 30 minutes while 4 other people received their orders. Finally he found a waiter and told him that he was waiting on a very simple order over 30 minutes and others got their orders before him. The waiter went to the kitchen and came back in one minute to hand him the bag. The order had just been siting there. When the food got home, opened the potatoes and a lot of them but one tablespoon of gravy. Really? The food is usually great but the lack of customer service is why we will not be going to this store again.

I’m really impressed with this location. Pretty easy to get to despite the construction. The staff is always nice and it’s easy to get in and out of. Plus the food is great of course and consistent. Who doesn’t love the store and smells haha and great Sweet Tea!

I have eaten here several times and I have had consistently good service and the food is always delicious. I absolutely adore their pancakes — love that they’re cooked on cast iron and those crispy edges just make them perfect! The Mama’s Pancake Breakfast is heaven — I don’t get the meat that it comes with though — I sub it out for the hashbrown casserole which is delicious, too. The store itself is adorable — they have unique gifts for probably anyone in your life. I love coming here and getting stocking stuffers for my kids, or easter basket goodies because they have some of the cutest things here and they will always run it 40% just before the holiday itself. On the weekends, the wait can get a little lengthy so you may try to get here early. If not, there is a lot of waiting room on the front porch in their rocking chairs and they will call your name over the intercom when it’s your turn to be seated. :)

Stopped in to old Cracky Bear for lunch with a bunch of other degenerates. Having breakfast for lunch is perfectly acceptable though, right? On this occasion it was. Chicken Fried Steak, Hash-brown casserole, 2 scrambled eggs, half-half iced tea. Legit, is it not. The food was hot, a perfect portion and reasonable($ 8.99). I have no complaints. Our waitress was attentive and efficient and even the manager dropped by on a couple of occasions to sample our experience-feedback. Very solid lunch option in N. Fort Worth.

We went in for breakfast food on Saturday evening. That was probably our first mistake, I don’t know. My son’s pancakes were overcooked and tasted off. I had ordered pancakes as well, but they were actually cooked well and tasted good, so I gave him mine. My husband ordered a meal that came with grits, which I was looking forward to swiping from him, and when the waitress delivered our food, she informed us that they were all out of grits and didn’t offer any substitutions for us. The service was really slow and awful(but our waitress was over 70, so we took it easy on her and still tipped well). We got no sort of jelly or anything to go with our biscuits, and she didn’t come back often enough for me to be able to ask for any. I ordered my eggs over medium, and they were wayyyy over easy, with some uncooked parts in them. Ick. When Cracker Barrel does it good, it’s REALLY good, and when they screw it up, it’s awful. I hate to waste money, so we honestly probably won’t be back for a very long time, if at all.

As a Yankee, I’m fond of the kitschy Texas decorations and rocking chairs out front. We waited for about 20 minutes to be seated, but spent the better time of that browsing in the store and playing oversized checkers. A group of 17 was seated before us, so I was not too bothered by the wait. The breakfast food was great. Everything we would expect from a Texas breakfast. My better half ordered the Grandpa Gut Buster(might not be the actual name, but it was a big order) even though she is the much smaller half. She exclaimed that this was the best breakfast she’s had.

The wait wasn’t really that long and they served our meal warm. By no means was it quick I think it was about 30 minutes after we placed the order The little country store was well stocked and had done really good deals! I would go back again but no if I was in a hurry

We had terrible service. Everything that can go wrong did go wrong. We were seated at a table for two that jutted up against two tables they had pushed together to seat a party of 8. We felt claustrophobic on all sides, not to mention each time a waiter tried to maneuver between tables, they bumped into the chair of my very pregnant cousin. Imagine having to shield your baby bump from external forces! Then, they forgot our silverware. Then, our biscuits. Then, the apple butter which we had asked for when we ordered. Still, the waitress actually told us we didn’t order apple butter and that it doesn’t come with the meal. I said, «well, I’m ordering it now!» I was peeved. (Ugh! I know the apple butter rules; this was not my first time at a Cracker Barrel – that’s why we ordered it to begin with!)
