My husband and I were looking to go somewhere for a lunch date today and I pretty much just«google-mapped» it(lol) and came across this café. I didn’t realize it was in an office building so we were a little thrown off when our gps told us we had arrived at our destination. The eating area is quite small — about 8 – 10 little tables — but it wasn’t busy at all when we went at around 1 pm. They had free Wi-Fi and a tv. It kind of had a cafeteria vibe, but on a smaller scale — almost like a break room. Anyway, we ordered black-bean cheeseburgers(another reason we chose to come here were the vegetarian options) and some cheese fries. Oh, and two of the yummy-looking cookies that were cleverly placed on the ordering counter. The burgers were honestly some of the best my hubby and I have had since we became vegetarian this year. They were quite large and very flavorful. The cheese fries were basically fries with a little shredded cheddar melted on top, so I probably wouldn’t get those again. But the cookies… ohmygoodness…the cookies. They were perfectly dense and soft and fresh! She said they were made in house. Yum! I would go there again just for those. Overall, once you get past the awkwardness of the location and how small the eating area is, the food is well worth it. I’ll probably get it to go next time. :)

There’s always something different on the menu, and everything I’ve tried is great! They are really friendly, and the prices are quite reasonable.

Blue Tower Café is a hidden little café located inside the Mallick, aka Blue, Tower. I understand that this café was opened by a renowned chef which explains why the food is quite tasty. I’ve tried their hamburgers(big), wraps(yummy), soups(always a soup of the day), and salad bar(nothing special). They have a different special of the day everyday, and it is always something worthy of dinner. However, the café is only open for breakfast and lunch, Monday thru Friday — they basically cater to the local work crowd. Check out their menu online which they update every week. You can call in your order and they will have it ready for your to pick up. Or you can dine in. I believe that they also do catering.

If you’re in the area(the Blue Tower near Downtown FW), this is a pretty good restaurant with some fantastic specials. The burgers are quite good, the sandwiches are pretty good, but what shines is the daily specials. There’s always a different soup and a different special, and they go from the standard(potato bar, taco bar, dagwood sandwich) to the out-of-the-ordinary which are frequently fantastic(fish tacos, pork roast in shiner bock, crawfish etoufee)
