Dale’s Bar-B-Q South

Just like not every burger will please everyone, no single BBQ restaurant will please everyone. If you want great food, at a reasonable price, combined with excellent service Dale’s is your place.
However, if you want white table cloths, and candles on each table this is not your place. In fact, us locals really don’t want you there, you would make us uncomfortable.
Been going to Dale’s for over 46 years, and God willing I will go 46 more. Keep up the great work !!!

Don’t listen to the reviews some of these jerks write some people expect way to much I’ve been going there for 30 plus years still the same friendly staff and good food at a good price there is no mystery meat in the baked beans that would be pieces of pork. If you are looking for some special place to put on your fancy suite this is not the place for you. Its all about the good food

Will never be the real dales food isn’t bad for a knock off meat is always over cooked sauce is ok doesn’t smell nearly as good waitstaff not friendly!!! If you want real bbq go to the old dales in fort pierce now called moon swiners

I’m not much of a BBQ gal and I loved Dale’s. Definitely a dive, don’t come for frills and fancy.
Came during lunch and it was slammed. Took a number and waited on benches for five minutes, tops. Dining room is simple, a couple dozen bench tables with wood paneled walls and moose heads on the wall.
I ordered the small pork sandwich after a long morning of paddle boarding and it was the perfect amount of food. Comes with a tiny bit of coleslaw and French fries for $ 5.
Food was delicious! More than anything I liked the sauce — there was a sweet, mild and spicy option. Mild was flavorful and rich without being overly salty.
Service was quick and kind. If I’m ever back up in the area, I’d definitely come back!

Can’t speak to the service experience others have had but as to my experience tonight:
Ambiance, this place is a dirty dump. If the food and service were good you might overlook the dinge but the food I had was not good and the service was poor.
Service, no greeting and weird vibe right off the bat. Maybe I looked out of place because I have all of my teeth, was wearing a shirt, and had on shoes? The waitress never returned after taking my order. Someone else brought my order and I had to get my check at the counter.
Good, I ordered the sliced beef (no, they don’t have brisket). Gray and tasteless you can hardly call it BBQ. Really more like over cooked/​sliced roast. The BBQ sauce wetted it enough to get it down. The slaw was just OK and the BBQ beans tasted like they had mystery meat in them, I think hamburger, from the night before.
If you read the other reviews and decide to chance it, I wish you luck but on the off chance you just want run of the mill BBQ (in stead of lousy BBQ) there is a Sonny’s just down the street.

The food was good, didn’t quite remind me of good Olé BBQ say in Ga. But was good prices reasonable and friendly service.

Ribs were delicious. I had the baby back rib special with Mac and cheese and green beans. Reasonably priced and the staff was courteous and fast. I’ll definitely go back.

Dale’s is terrible. The food is tough and dry. It’s like eating a shoe !!
There are much better places to go nearby.

This place sucks these days. The bbq pork sandwich combo sucks. Sure the price is moderate at just $ 6, but you get very little pork, about 3 ounces of meat. They are incredibly skimpy on the sides as well. I got a side of beans and I couldn’t have gotten more than 1 cup of beans. Lol

One of the best bbq places ever! Ask for the meat to be chopped, it’s the best. (Doesn’t offer that style on the menu)
This place has been around since I was a kid and it’s still awesome and affordable for the family.

Ok so even my mom doesn’t love dales. Not the last problem with mom, just stopped in this past weekend and you know! The Q was as good as it gets, dip your fries in the beans and hello friend. Sweet tea was awesome, the Coleslaw is very yummy too! I am a creature of habit so one pulled pork sandwich and one beef sandwich, however I got two jumbo, usually it’s one Jumbo and one large. Was full the ride back to Broward and then sum.

I’m shocked anyone could give this a star at all. The food looks so unappetizing and horrible… And it is! It’s a cheap place to eat because it’s awful. Don’t even bother.

AWESOME PLACE!!! worth the stop if you’re in Fort Pierce! Great meals! Greater prices!

The Giant sign screaming BBQ drew me in! Sadly, it was just ok.
The place was really busy for lunch and the parking was a bit of a pain.
Staff was friendly and we were seated right away.
I ordered the bbq pork lunch special which came with fries and beans or coleslaw. And coffee or tea… just over $ 6 for the ‘large’.
I wanted to try the Mac and Cheese but no substitutions meant I had to order it as a side.
Overall it was all a little anticlimactic.
**NOTE…they have Carolina Style bbq sauce (it has a vinegar base)…I do NOT like Carolina style and even though they have their own line of sauce it was a negative for me.
The pork was sliced (not my usual pulled) and dry although the bun was fresh!
The side of slaw was the smallest thing I’ve ever seen, served in a dish I would use as a side of katsup. My husbands beans were the same size… more of a shooter than a side dish!
The mac had a strange taste and it was a little congealed.
The sweet tea was good, not too sweet but they don’t have lemons, only lemon juice you can add.
I like trying new places but in the end I would have gone to Sonny’s down the road instead.

Easily my favorite place to eat !
The atmosphere is laid back, the servers are friendly.
Most importantly… the food is delicious!

YUM! Delicious BBQ beef & pork. Hubby loves a BBQ beef sandwich, and I get the chicken platter. Service is fast & efficient. Even super-​busy, they get you seated ASAP! Sodas are gigantic, and the coleslaw is fantastic!

Dale’s Bar-​B-​Q, I have been to Dale’s more times than any other restaurant in the area, in the last 7 years, and never been disappointed. The food is always hot, fresh, and served by the best wait crew around. You just can’t beat, go there you will enjoy it!!!

We decided to stop in after many years of not. It’s not that we did not like them they are just «off the beaten path» for us. Since we were on that end of town we figured why not. The restaurant was clean and the staff was great. Our server was extremely attentive; always stopping by to check on us. The food turned out to be very good: Sliced Pork Sandwich with Fries (cooked perfectly) and mesquite Chicken Breast with Cole Slaw and BBQ Baked Beans. At work, we will get Dale’s every now and then when we decide to get together and chip in. We’ve always enjoyed it when we do that. We will return.

I love Dales BBQ. It’s simple southern BBQ. I’ve never had bad food or service here it’s always top notch. If you’re looking for fancy or dressed up you’re in the wrong place but for a cheap lunch it’s a winner for me. The only thing I don’t like is the benches, they are very short and upright, meaning after I stuff myself with BBQ I can’t lean back. Lol

This place has all the trappings of a great BBQ joint. Friendly staff. nice prices. Home made beans and slaw. Unfortunately their ‘que leaves a lot to be desired. I had the jumbo platter so I could taste a little of everything (ribs, sliced pork, sliced beef). To be fair, it all had a nice smoke flavor. That’s where it ended. Each meat was overlooked and dry. Two of the 3 rib bones were mushy and the other one was like rib jerky. The sliced meat was equally dry and would have been tough but they sliced it thin (indicating they know its dry). Had to drown it all in sauce.
The sweet tea was good.
