We love the food. Visited once and had take out a couple times. Wish they would add cornbread to the menu.

Really enjoyed our meal. Fried chicken, Mac, sweet potato soufflé were all stellar, deviled eggs, not so much. Good attentive service.

This is an excellent choice. Parking is ample and the food is very good. I’ve there maybe 8 times and done takeout a couple of times. The fried catfish is two fillets with remoulade sauce. Get the sauce on the side as it overwhelms the delicate flavor of the fish if they drizzle it on. I always get collards and black-eyed peas which are both delish. Service is always attentive. I would say that prices are high. For example, a catfish dinner with two sides is $ 22. At the Farmer’s Market Restaurant, a fried fish plate with three sides and cornbread is $ 12. I know the atmosphere at the two places is very different, but hey!

Anytime I come to Fort Myers, I have to stop in at Fancy’s. The food is so good! You have to try their chicken and waffles. They’re so sweet and savory. This time I tried the shrimp and grits for the first time. Excellent dish. It was just the right amount spicy and the cheddar grits were a great compliment. My wife had the chicken pot pie this time. It was a very unique take on chicken pot pie, but a very delicious take on it. Big chunks of chicken, heart veggies, and balls of mashed potatoes. We will definitely miss this place!

Yummy chicken and waffles(beat I’ve had) and tasty crawfish etouffe. Nice service. If I lived closer I’d be back.

Classy and semi formal atmosphere. Don’t skip the strawberry house salad or the macaroni and cheese. Add that stuff as la carte if you have to. For the entrée you can’t go wrong with the chicken and waffles. The chef prepares the batter and the syrup in house.

Very good food. I’m from Mobile and very picky about southern cooked meals and these guys nailed it!

I’m not super familiar with southern food, but I know the basics. We ordered fried chicken and crawfish poo boy. The chicken tasted good, but it was not crispy at all. A good southern fried chicken needs to make that crunchy noise on each bite with thicker batter. The poo boy wasn’t bad, but it was mostly bread! What makes me upset the most was the horrible service that we got at the door before we got seated. There was a young skinny blond girl who looked like a kid who walked by us 4 times before she finally decided to say hi and get us a seated at the dining section. We wanted to be at the bar because there was love music and she said she will let us know as soon as space frees us. After 5 mins I decided to go check and there was 4 free spots. I asked the person if we can take them and she said, oh I guess space freed up which sounded like she just didn’t bother to come and tell us. I asked her for how long more they will have live music and she said they will be done soon. So I decided to just sit at the dining area so we don’t have to move out stuff. We sat there for an hour and they were still performing live music! She clearly was too careless and lazy to bother and probably didn’t want to have more people at her area so there is less to do!!! To summarize, food was ok and our server was very nice, but I don’t think it applies to everyone there… After a few weeks, I also realizes they added $ 3 to the bill as tip. I ended up calling Visa to sort it out. Ridiculously bad service…

The chicken and waffles are great. The service is great, the décor is great! We love it here. I had the Mac & cheese as well and loved it. I liked it more than the mashed potatoes. We also tried the fried green tomatoes and they were good — a bit greasy for me. Overall, well be back to try everything on the menu.

This was a great experience. We’re from Georgia and were craving some good southern food with some friends who had recently relocated to the beach scene. This hit the spot. 5 people, 5 different meals and all were delish! I wish I could recommend just one stellar thing, but seriously everything was great! It was very loud though, so not ideal for catching up with old friends.

This would be a cute hangout for me if I lived in the area. Would definitely call up some friends to have drinks at the bar. Had this bookmarked for a while, and made it here after another favorite place was closed already for Brunch. We were not disappointed. Prices are well, Fort Myers prices. Expect to pay at least 20 or more for a dish. Loved the Crabcakes. Great quality, I would definitely order those again if I was in the mood. My sis had the chicken and waffles. She enjoyed them, but said they weren’t the best she’s had. The syrup is more like a caramel based syrup, not maple, FYI. She said it would have been so much better with Maple. The presentation was awesome. Loved the stack with the knife through the middle. The menu was filled with a bunch of good old fattening southern goodies. Next time I want to demolish the diet, and make it worth it, I know where to come.

Mark A. & I split the tower of chicken & waffles. It’s a pretty cool sight, and I’d say there was enough for the both of us. The syrup tasted caramel-like, and the chicken was very savory. The place itself isn’t very large, and I felt the table next to us was actually a bit close, but I guess you can consider that part of the Southern charm? The décor definitely says«Southern,» like you’re in a house and not a restaurant. It’s cute and comfortable.

Fancy a was a welcome surprise. I was craving chicken and waffles and although not exactly what I expected it was tasty. The chicken is not on the bone but instead more like a breaded chicken breast. The seasoning was on point though. The lemonade was homemade which I appreciated. I will definitely return! The variety of southern dishes and awesome ambiance is much needed on this coast which is filled with chain restaurants.

This is one of those times I wish I could give more than Five Stars on a review. We found everything about this place to be either notches about the rest, or just in a league of their own. The restaurant is not a very large place, but is comfortable, not cramped, and the design is full of surprises that work: the walls in one area of the restaraunt are covered in different shapes, types and sizes of mirrors. Another area is covered with various cabinet doors, while a room separator is a series of re-purposed doors hung by barn pulleys. Sounds crazy, but are just very sharp and clever ideas that give the rooms a very cool look with a warm atmosphere. My wife and I met our distant friends for a very long lunch, and our Server could not have been more accommodating and personable. Megan kept our glasses full, our food in the best shape, and never pushed for us to do anything but enjoy our time at Fancy’s. She was a superstar! Now, the food: simply one of the best Southern meals we’ve ever had. My wife was born and raised in Memphis, and I lived there for 18 years, so we know Southern chow. Every dish was sterling! We shared all that was ordered, and started with Fried Green Tomatoes(fresh and prepared with care) and an order of Cheese Grit Balls. These lightly fried jewels were cheesy, warm and plentiful. They could easily be habit-forming. The entrees included a Grilled Shrimp Salad that was loaded with fresh greens and salad goodies and about twice as many shrimp than most places. Very tasty. A knife wasn’t needed for the Pot Roast with Vegetables. It was tender without losing its texture with veggies that kept their taste along the carefully seasoned beef. Excellent. There are really only three components in Chicken & Waffles: chicken, waffles and syrup. Any of the three served today could make an Iron Chef ask for the recipe. I promise you when I say all three were the best I’ve ever had. The four of us kept shaking our heads in agreement about the wonderful taste of each. This item tasted wonderful. I’ve had herds of Chicken Fried Steak with White Gravy in my time, but this serving was light years better than any I have ever enjoyed. The size was at least twice as big as normal, but the meat was tenderized, surrounded in a light and crispy seasoned batter, then covered in a gravy that was light, flavorful and perfect. Another Academy Award. I don’t want to lessen the praise for the side dishes, because they all were fantastic. Collard Greens, Sweet Potato Casserole, Macaroni & Cheese, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy all were expertly prepared with tastes to top off our entrees. Although we were stuffed, we ordered desserts to sample then box up for home. The Banana Pudding was huge with flavors that were distinct and blended to entice you to… okay, try just another bite… and another. The crescendo of this magnificent fireworks show was a Red Velvet cake that was, hands down, the absolute best Red Velvet cake we’ve ever tasted. Just a masterpiece. If you ever are in the area, please do yourself and your family/companions a favor, and try Fancy’s Southern. This restaurant is a true diamond.

This is my first review of Fancy’s but definitely not my first time here! This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Fort Myers area. Good, traditional, southern fare. For an appetizer if you’re a fan of frog legs, fried green tomatoes or fried okra– you can’t go wrong The chicken and waffles are out of this world. The chicken is fresh and the syrup is homemade. It makes the difference. Be warned: their craft beer selection, while some are local– they have a pretty hefty price tag. I spent $ 8 on a beer when I could have went down the street to Fort Myers Brewing Co. and spent 5. Good food, great atmosphere and friendly service.

What a neat place! The interior was way more eclectic and trendy then I would have expected for a place named Fancy’s Southern Café. We just stayed on the bar side which I thought was beautiful. I peaked over at the main dining room and it definitely seems like a great place to host an event since its one big open room. We went on Tuesday which is their ladies happy hour networking night. Wine is $ 5 a glass and appetizers are half off. You really can’t beat that deal. The sauvignon blanc was great and obviously a good bargain for $ 5 a glass. We ordered the fried grit bites and they were tasty. The appetizer was huge, it was enough for four people to have a good amount of grit bites. Would definitely head back when I’m in Fort Myers.

I have only been here for the Ladies Happy Hour evening BUT I am convinced that I need to come back for an enjoyable dinner. Service was great, menu was appealing and unique. Prices were as expected and seemed to fit with the quality of the food. That being said, it is a great happy hour at the bar with $ 5 wines and ½ off appetizers. Though I was there for the wine, music and socializing, I sampled some apps that were quit good. A very cute place for date, family, or even a bridal shower.

Where was this place when I lived in Fort Myers, desperate for a good meal amid the Olive Gardens and other chain restaurants? Perhaps it was there all along, this place is hidden in a strip mall that looks like any other along Daniels Parkway. This place is awesome– great food and an amazing décor. If you like Pinterest, this place is for you. Mason jar chandeliers, exposed brick, and reused wood? It really feels like you’re eating southern comfort food in the south(and not Southwest Florida)! I’ve only been for brunch but it was fantastic. I had an eggs Benedict with crab but that was a game time decision. I honestly considered asking the waitress to surprise me– everything on the menu looked great. I don’t get to Fort Myers much but plan to go back to dinner next time I visit. I highly recommend giving this place a chance, you can get Olive Garden anywhere!
