This is a really well stocked location for the most part. There have been very few occasions where I haven’t been able to find what I am looking for. They have a very nice clearance section that is also pretty well stocked. They have a very nice Starbucks in the location and I have always enjoyed my coffees from them. My biggest complaint would be the staff. I don’t know if maybe I just consistently catch them all when they are having terrible days but not once in my three years of living in Fort Myers have I had some cheerfully greet me or ask if I needed any help. I am such a bibliophile that I really go for the books but the customer service at this store is severely lacking.

Beautiful well stocked book store as are all B and N bookstores we have ever been in. Love the selection and the assistance. A wonderful experience and a great place to rest and read and browse even if you don’t buy.

Always pleasant to walk in here. Very service oriented folks. Love a great read and the quiet surroundings. Wish they would bring back more couches or comfy chairs! Sad to see so many of these stores close down. Let’s help them stay afloat. Would miss it terribly.

Love this place staff is helpful it’s relaxing and I love how students go there and study or prepare. I see more individuals here than the library.

This B&N was a huge cultural development for the city in the mid-late 90’s when they brought it in, as sad as that is to say. For once in the town’s history, a bookstore became a new focal point for social interaction, spilling over from the Bell Tower, fueled by lattes.

Granted, it’s a book store, but they had an excellent selection, fair prices, and easily the best, most helpful service I’ve ever had at any Barnes ‘n’ Noble EVER! I wish I knew the girl’s name that helped me tonight so I could thank her personally. She was rad. Thanks girl with the nose ring, red hair, kinda short. You were awesome!!!

Last time I was here, the cashier was a bit snarky. I know it’s part of their job to up sell — get the $ 25 member card, but, it isn’t worth it to me. I don’t spend the minimum $ 250 a year to get proper use of the card(seriously — one must spend $ 250 to break even… on an original 25 dollar purchase). At best, I can spend $ 50 to $ 75 a year, but there have been years I’ve only spent $ 25 or less. However, the past few times I’ve stopped in, they didn’t really have what I was looking for. I didn’t care to order from their website, nor did I want to pay any additional fees to have them order me the item for in store pick up(I had a guy in the movie dept look up a particular DVD that should have been in stock [according to the site & in store lookup] and the guy said he could order it for me, it would take several weeks, and be an additional charge. I thanked him and said no) . When I *am* able to find a book, I get the member card spiel. I politely thank them and say I’m not interested. The cashier that rang me up during my last trip was just rude. I kindly stated that I am not in the store that often, to warrant the expenditure. Perhaps Borders had a good idea in offering a basic, free, membership. Perhaps then, I may be interested. His reply? «Well, *WE’RE* not Borders. Look what happened to THEM!»(insert finger snap here, if he were able to do it without getting in trouble). I was like, ooooooh kay… and politely thanked him and got to my car quicker than it took to look around the store. Like I said, I understand they have sales goals. But, in some cases, is it really necessary to ask every time, to sign up for a card? Let the customer be the one to bring it up. The items there can be on the pricey side, anyway.

This used to be a great store. I say«used to be» because it’s been a while since I’ve been in so I don’t know if they ruined it like some other B & N locations have by adding an idiotic childrens’ play area to the middle of the store.(???) I spent several rainy afternoons here whilst visiting my father in Cape Coral. I was quite impressed with the selection in all areas. I really hope the store hasn’t been turned into a playground.

Love their extensive cookbook selections and their bargain books. I found just what I needed in the bargain books. This is a great store-set up just like all the other B&N’s and even has a Starbucks café inside. It also seemed like they had plenty of staff available to help which isn’t always the case at some establishments these days.

This store has been here for YEARS and has no reviews? Does anyone in SWFL have a computer? Do they use it? The Borders in San Francisco, as an example, presently has 172 reviews. Get with it Florida! Prove that you are not the black hole of cyberspace! Well, I’ll be coming here more often now in that the only Borders in Lee County and the only Borders in Collier County are both going out of business, closing doors, kaput, gone forever. This B&N is actually quite a nice store. It’s consumer friendly, has a relatively good selection, plus Starbucks. Now all they have to do is issue email discount coupons like Borders did(uh oh, was that the cause of their demise?) to bring me in here instead of ordering from Amazon.
