We have stayed at the Beacon Motel a handful of times in the last couple of years. It is always a good experience. The staff is friendly and make you feel like family. The rooms are always clean and nice and cool. Very short walk to restaurants and shops. We love it and hope to stay there again soon.

If you are looking for motel that causes constant stress from the management that I can only assume is mentally ill or has severe drug problems look no further. We checked in on Thursday and the manager was rude and confrontational. But that was only the very tip of the iceberg we would encounter over the next 4 days. Not only was she rude, she gave out confidential information about other guests such as who cancelled rooms and when people were staying. When other groups of family asked to check in early(30 minutes) they were yelled at and cussed, all of this in front of their children. When they said we don’t even want the keys. Just do the paperwork, as they say the office closes early) they were told to just out there stuff in my room and proceeded to tell them which one. This is not ok, I was not even at the motel at this point. Would they have just let them in if they would have wanted to enter? The property is far from the quaint little beach Bed and Breakfast it claims to be. Stale food that has been left out and not refrigerated pancake and waffle batter does not make a bed and breakfast. I had to walk sideways to get between the bed and the wall to get to the very small sitting area that was only big enough to put our suitcases. I’m going to let the other guests tell of their experiences this weekend but I can assure you it was way over priced for the property and treatment we received. On the last day we were parked where we were told to park by the manager and her daughter started screaming and yelling at my 13 year old daughter and niece that they needed to move my truck. The truck that was parked where her mother told me to park that was running and loaded while I was in the office trying to locate someone to give the keys to, at this point all we wanted to do is go home. We just wanted to leave this place where we have been treated so poorly for the last 3 days. This is a picture of the woman calling the police after trying to make my thirteen-year-old daughter move my huge truck and a tiny parking lot. Thank God my daughter had the sense to wait for me. She called the police on me, that’s insane. This is why I think there is a problem with drugs and/or mental illness. This business is run by a mother and her daughter’s and they are mean and unreasonable. I do not know if the actual owners know how badly this property has suffered since employing these people but I will be making more phone calls. There is no reason my children and I had to endure this kind of behavior while on vacation or anytime. If you’re traveling with your family especially your children do not stay at this Motel. It is not worth the mental anguish you’ll have to endure. I will not even get into the noise and screaming and yelling that went on all night coming from the bar that is just outside the window or the fact that you have to go around the back alley to walk to the beach. So many others already addressed these points. I was just very disappointed that it seemed they went out of their way to make our stay uncomfortable. I wish I had read the reviews BEFORE I booked. I will not make that mistake again.

No one should EVER give this place your business. Upon pulling into the parking lot the manager stormed out of the office, cigarette in hand, and proceed to curse at us saying it was private property and demanding we leave. She failed to ask if we were checking in to her establishment or if we needed directions. The fact was that we were planning to eat at the adjoining restaurant and we parked in that restaurant’s designated parking spot. She proceeded to argue, through her decaying, partially toothless mouth, that the parking spot was her private property. This was in fact not true. As we Walked from our car she continued to scream at us, threatening that she was going to call the police, spewing expletives left and right. She did call the police on us. The cops came, which was extremely embarrassing, considering the motel is on the main street in the area and we had our entire family with us. The cops verified that we were in the correct parking spot, shutting the manager right up. It seems that this hotel doesn’t want business and also doesn’t want any of their neighboring businesses to earn a profit either. Never ever give this motel a dime. Not to mention, I can only imagine what the inside of the rooms look like considering the manager hadn’t seen a shower in days.

We have stayed many times here. It does get loud being next to the biker bar. But, Free breakfast and wifi. #11 stand alone cottage is the best and def worth the upgrade. Staff could be friendlier. Otherwise, great for the $$. Will be back

I honestly wish I could give it a 0 instead of a 1. This place is not only run down but the customer service from the employees was terrible. They pick and choose who to treat with respect and who not to. The beds were really uncomfortable, you could feel the springs on your back the entire night. I kept the a/c at 65* and during most of the day it could not go any lower than 81*. I wish you the best of luck if you choose this place to stay at. *BTW* there was a customer selling drugs out of a room in the hotel. They made it very obvious as they conducted their hand to hand transactions outside of the hotel room.

This is not the fanciest place but it’s clean and not as pricey as all the other places at the beach to stay. Everything you need is within walking distance in either direction and it’s right on the beach. There is a pool here, which gives you a refreshing alternative to the ocean water/sand. Breakfast isn’t anything special– toast, yogurt, cold cereals, coffee/juice-but it’s free. We’ve stayed twice and will definitely come back. Make sure you are VERY clear on the number in your party though and how many beds you need, because they will change your room type without your approval.

It’s not the best place to stay at, but you’re right by the beach with a lower price compared to other places on the beach. The surrounding place, isn’t that much fun but what can you say the place is for fishing not a group or 19 – 21 year olds to hangout.

Excellent value and location. Right in the middle of the Fort Myers Beach touristy area, within walking distant of bars, restaurants, shops, and right across the street from 7 – 11. Most important of all, you can walk out of your room and right down to the beach in about a minute or two. Looks like a dump, but it isn’t. It is dumpy in a charming way, but probably the cleanest motel in which I’ve ever stayed. It has that neon beach shanty look going, and it works. Right next door is a great restaurant for which you are given a breakfast voucher. Best pancakes I’ve had outside of Indiana, or my grandma’s kitchen, to be more exact. Cheap price, great view. They have wi-fi.
