Ordered the shepherd’s pie because it was the most liked on Unilocal. It was okay. Not amazing– some of the beef look a little raw(pink on the inside). I have mixed feelings about the atmosphere. It’s very dark in there. I would be okay to have a drink and enjoy music but for food, I need better lighting to see what I’m eating or if the place is clean.

I arrived at 8 p.m. to meet my friend Billy who I hadn’t seen in 28 years. I’ve been to the field only one other time I was with Goldie and Michael and we ate. This time we just drank. My friend Billy opted for red wine and I immediately asked for a Stella because I saw they had it on tap. We were serenaded by a Rod Stewart look-alike. The funny thing is Billy is a huge concert manager(hes currently doing the Brian Wilson Pet Sounds 50th Anniversary tour) and we both talked about seeing Rod Stewart live, the real Rod Stewart, not the look-alike who was singing for us. The place was jam-packed the music was Extremely Loud that is why I took one star off I could barely even talk to my friend. We went outside a few times though so that we could get a few words in edgewise and have a cigarette. I think we found the last high top table in the back by the piano that was left because as I said the place was jammed to see this Rod Stewart look-alike singer. The high top table we sat at in the corner kinda squished us close together because there is a bookcase directly behind it and a piano next to the wall so room is limited at that particular table, I wasnt complaining though it gave me a chance to sit real close to my friend who I hadnt seen in many years! I definitely would come back to the field it’s not that far from my home it’s clean there are no degenerates the food is good and the drinks are also just as good. A good time was had by all. Definitely a chill spot for dinner, just drinks or reconnecting with someone you havent seen in 28 years like I did. The Live music also adds to the experience even if it is on the loud side. One final tip to those that sit at the high top Billy and I were at, They block the air vent at that table BUT you can easily move the thin wooden board they use to block the vent like I did. Billy thought the shelf was going to fall, I assured him the shelf would be fine and it was and when we were having cold air blow directly on us. Billy said it was a good idea to move the board away from the vent. I know what Im doing! Go to the Field, have some food and drinks and most of all a good time!

The day I came I left my phone at home so I couldn’t upload pics or check in :/but what I ate and drank was fantastic! I loved the décor, the attention was good, the shepherds pie was to die for! One in our party didn’t like it but I think he was on crack and so does my bf. We really liked it. Their tap wasn’t working that day so I docked one star for that but otherwise everything was good and the live folky band a plus. A must try if youre in the area!

Went today for lunch with my friend the entrance is a bit strange and no one to welcome you we had to walk in the restaurant and stand till someone finally said we can sit were we would like the waitress was very kind and welcoming I had the fish and chips which were delightful and my friend had the Irish chicken which we both thought was bland no seasoning in their cream sauce and the vegetables taste like they just got them from the freezer besides that the potato soup was tasty and so was the chocolate cake

First time here! Loved the laid back atmosphere and beautiful tree outside. My favorite part was the smoked salmon! Didn’t expect it to come with the potato pancake«latkes» topped with sour cream which was delicious! Would definitely come back just for that again. Kids portions were huge and the fish and chips were a hit.

Came here on a friend’s recommendation after speaking about the best Shepard’s Pie I ever had in Dublin a few years back. The Field did not disappoint. The service was prompt and attentive. The décor felt like you’re stepping into some Grandmother’s home with personalized cozy nick nacks here and there. I had the Shepard’s Pie and it was easily the best I’ve had State side. My friend had steak and potatoes that he was raving about for months after. I hope to return one day to experience the much praised live music.

Drove pass this place a few times, finally got the chance to try it out! I loved the outdoor decoration with the lights hanging on the tree! Didn’t get to see the inside, but the patio area was great! If it gets too hot or humid, they have a big fan that keeps it cool just make sure if you’re gonna sit in front of it to have a light sweater around! The staff is nice and friendly and the restaurant provides complimentary valet parking! Don’t worry about parking if you can’t find any. We had order a few dishes, personally I had order the prime rib and it looked amazing as it came out! However when the food came out, it wasn’t hot temperature wise. I had told the wait staff about the problem and they took my plate back and had gotten it re-done! However one of my friend got the shepherd pie & Holy Wow it was super tasty and hot! Possibly the best thing I would recommend for others to try on the menu! We also order some dessert, the salted Caramel cheesecake was bomb! Wasn’t too sweet, satisfy just about right! Also the cinnamon ice cream with bread pudding was great as well.

I hardly ever visit this neck of the woods(Griffin west of 95) unless I’m specifically heading there but the restaurant we intended to patronize had closed for the night so we stopped by here instead. Lovely place with great outdoor seating. We started with crisp flaky sausage rolls and then I had huge serving of corned beef and cabbage. The cocktail(Jamie Ginger) was a bit watery and the desert(bread pudding) a bit dry but overall we had a good experience and would come here again.

The Field is a traditional huge Irish Pub &Restaurant with outdoor/indoor accommodations. For quiet dinning you have the quieter side or fun music(Tuesdays =Beatles night, Wed = Rod Stewart Show, Thurs, Fri & Sat = Celtic Band) louder vibe head to the pub side. They take reservations and for larger parties do consider calling. They are very accomadating. I called for a party of 14, we sat in the quiet side, they were kind enough to allow me to bring a cake and we’re flexible to add a table for additional last minute guest. The hostess and server were wonderful, even split the check when we were previous told that it may not be possible, we all had brought cash, it helps with large parties. Food Is delicious, generous variety of beer and drinks from about 7 – 12 bucks. Lunch and dinner range from about 8 – 21 bucks.

What a great place! Started with the sausage rolls. They served two large sausages wrapped in puff pastry. They were very good. The black & stormy drink was also very good with this dish. I had the drunken chicken which was a chicken breast with a mushroom whiskey sauce, scoop of mashed potatoes and green beans with carrots. Everything was delicious. Hubby had the Irish stew which was huge. It had big chunks of lamb, potatoes and vegetables. Other couple had shepherds pie that had a great cheesy crust and a bacon cheese burger. Both were very good. They also had a large selection of beers. We shared the bread pudding with cinnamon ice cream. The ice cream was the best! Perfect amount of cinnamon. The service was very good too, attentive but not overbearing and also friendly. The live music was fun too. Overall it was a fantastic evening and we look forward to going back.

Why haven’t I heard of The Field before? I know why! There’s this uncharted territory that lies between the Florida Turnpike and I-95, I never find myself in this area. But when the boyfriend decided to celebrate his birthday there, I couldn’t say no. Upon arrival, the inside is dark, like an Irish pub should be. We decided to sit outside, the weather was great, so why not? I ordered their fish & chips and they did not disappoint. You know how some places you get batter with a side of fish? No, this was ALL fish, very little batter, which I LOVE. They season their fries to perfection too. The second time around I ordered the mussels, it’s an appetizer but it can double as an entrée. I don’t know what is in this sauce but I will say I wanted to drink it, it was that good! They mussels are going to keep me coming back to this place!

I think I chose the right spot but maybe the wrong dish for me on my first trip. I was driving around looking for a local spot on a Sunday since my standby Old Heidelberg was not open till dinner. I chose this place over about another half dozen ethnic cuisine places and was pleased when it was crowded. Used the seemingly obligatory«valet» parking to park my car literally 10 ft from me. Tips only but still… must be a Field profit in there but not needed. Ambience is dandy and a big part of the allure. I would love to come back and hear a great music act one night and sip some Tullamore. As is my habit I pulled up at the bar. Friendly enough tender took care of my drink order which was an O’Hara Red… turns out I got a Stout instead but enjoyed it just the same. Torn between Corned Beef and Cabbage and Irish Stew I asked my server and was steered toward the stew. Came with brown bread which seemed like old dinner rolls. If this is traditional Irish then pardon me but seemed old. The stew was tasty enough but in the darkness I could not tell what was what in the dish as potatoes looked like meat and so on. I got bored pretty quick and ate about half and started thinking Dinty Moore. Not in quality just in the boring nature of the dish to me. Should have stuck to my gut and opted for CB&C. Sipped a shot of Tullamore with it and was entertained by a young trio of what appeared to be musicians, one clearly a Jack White wannabe and their profanity laced hangover induced conversation as they enjoyed Irish breakfast. Pretty funny and they don’t leave anything out. ;0) Like I said, I would return. I would order another dish and I would enjoy it. After all I did purvey Kerrygold butter and cheese in a past life and love Irish heritage. Top o the morning to ya!

I frequent this place with my husband and mother in law. It’s one of our favorite restaurants. The food, atmosphere, music and service are top notch! The shepherds pie is phenomenal. Our favorite drink is the Irish drop. It’s Guinness with a shot of baileys Irish cream. The oysters with garlic bread is our go to appetizer.

I came back to lower this to 1 star. If I could give it none, I would. The day after our visit, both members of our household are sick from the food. We will NOT return here. I haven’t been here in years and when a friend suggested we meet here for dinner with others, I was excited to go back. It was not as enjoyable as I remember. Maybe it’s just a better place to enjoy the outside bar(and not eating the food). We arrived before the rest of our group and decided to sit inside near the bar. Took 15 minutes for our waitress to come over because the entire staff — cooks, waitstaff, hosts, busboys, bartender, EVERYONE — was watching the football game. In fact, they were all so into the game they were blocking patrons from seeing the TV. And clearly no one was helping the guests. I almost took a photo because I was so surprised they were all standing around the TV to «watch the Patriots lose»(that’s what the waitress told us when she came over). Though the way the hostess was running around hooting and hollering, it was obvious she«HATED the Patriots so much!» Once the waitress brought our drinks she never came back. Two other waitresses were dancing in the corner with large trays of drinks waiting next to them. It was really like no one worked there. When we tried to get the bill, my partner had to walk around the restaurant to find her. I was surprised that when Igave her a ten dollar bill on a $ 6.83 tab, she only brought back 3 ones. I know it only 17 cents but it is the principle of the matter — you do that to enough guests, you pocket a lot of extra«tips». And since they added tip to our dinner(more on that later) I really felt taken advantage of by the time I went home. When the rest of our group arrived, we went into the back section for dinner. I was happily surprised there was a section separate from the bar so we could enjoy dinner. Postives: big, roomy booths; comfortable temperature; better lighting than the bar area; and you didn’t have to yell over the band up front. Besides that, the food was medicore and the service was spotty. The mashed potatoes were bland like from a box and the«chips» were probably from a bag. But in the end, the next day, we’re both in and out of the restroom. One guest never got his meal until 20 minutes after the rest of us(they said it was delivered to another table?), drinks weren’t refilled regularly, 20% gratuity automatically added to the bill for a group of 6(isn’t the norm groups of 8?), bathrooms were DISGUSTING and smelled bad, and everything seemed like it was a lot more expensive than neccessary. Maguires is definitely better — both in service and flavor. And you won’t get sick from their food.

Being English, and especially from Wessex I normally don’t go neat Irish pubs, but this place is an exception. The food is standard but the management and servers are really outstanding. I had better service than the Ritz on Fort Lauderdale beach. They tried every way they could to accommodate my little peccadillos. I am very fussy, but they took it in stride. All of the party enjoyed the food and although I am not a bangers n mash fan it was set off with some nice wee fried onion rings. I’ll be back.

WOW ! Lots of Best & Great to describe this restaurant, outside nice big tables, 110 year old Mammoth size Banyan Tree, inside feels like you are transported to another place(like Ireland) Service by staff very good, atmosphere casual & comfortable, the band playing traditional Irish folk music on Saturday night was fun. Food & Drink portion Pints on Draft 16 oz of Smithwicks– Red Ale — Excellent– The Best silkiest Crème of Potatoes Soup must try. Fish & Chips — wOW, w/Best Tarter Sauce & I don’t really like tarter. The Fish batter & Fish top notch, but the chips homemade & something special. The Shepherd pie w/cheddar, so hardy & feels like your grandmother made it. Really wanted to try there bread pudding, as all their deserts are made by a baker for The Field, but they had sold out earlier. So on many great recommendations by our waitress Melissa order the chocolate cake a la mode. WHOA ! This warmed chocolate pudding frosting type of cake w/side of vanilla cinnamon ice cream, was one of the best chocolate cake I have ever eaten — at the end the bill including a good tip came out to $ 75 — not bad for a top notch experience

I had my birthday here and the manager Jay along with everyone who works here, was amazing in making it a great night. They were amazing in every detail and on the day of the party, when it was raining, before I even had a chance to call them, they called me up to make sure everything was ok(we were supposed to us the outside porch) had me come over to pick a new area I wanted for everyone and took great care of my guests. The Field always has great pub fare and is always a great time, I have always gone here and will continue to go back!!!

We arrived around 5:30pm on a Saturday, and while the outside patio had a few families and several excited kids in sports uniforms, the inside was quieter and had a better vibe for my SO and me. We were seating in a cozy barrel shaped booth in the corner, where we got a good view of the bar area, with more than enough privacy between the two of us.(Our server, Amy, informed us that to sit in the booth, my SO and I must kiss. Done.) We ordered two beers(and hellooo Magner’s, I hadn’t been to a single bar in South Florida that has it on tap until now!), the chicken pot pie, and the irish stew. I have literally nothing negative to say about my meal. Portions were perfect, even for a big eater like myself. Flavor was impeccable. Stew came with country bread, which was delightfully crispy. Pot pie came with steamed veggies. Dessert sounded fabulous, but we did not partake this time. Our server was hilarious. The décor was on point — we even flipped through a few books that were on shelves behind us. I may be cheating on Waxy O’Connor a bit more in the future.

We heard fantastic things about the Field, so we decided to come in for lunch. We sat outside, which was nice & our server was polite. Our disappointment lies in what we had for lunch. My husband ordered the shepherd’s pie, which had a nice flavor, but was 20% meat & vegetables &80% mashed potatoes. If you want cheese on the top, they charge extra, which seems silly when you charge $ 14 for a small casserole dish of mashed potatoes & a tiny amount of meat. I ordered the chicken country casserole or something by that name. It was basically a chicken pot pie. It needed to be cooked for a few more hours. Chicken was tough, celery still crunchy. Had an ok flavor, but was overall disappointing. I would have enjoyed a frozen chicken pot pie from the local grocery store more than what I paid $ 13 for. The small side of green beans & carrots were delicious though. We could have communicated our issue with our server had he returned before we were finished. I was extremely hungry, so I ate my food rather than sit & wait or go hunting for our server. Figured it would just take longer to get something else, so it made more sense to just eat & leave. We know now not to come back. Overall, it was overpriced & either too dry or not cooked long enough. There are a lot of restaurants in Ft. Lauderdale, so there are other options for dining out.

On Sunday’s, this place makes/serves prime rib. My pregnant friend was craving prime rib, so this is where we went. I wanted to go somewhere else, but who am I to argue with a pregnant woman who’s about to give birth at any second(she ended up doing so 2 days later)? I am SO glad I went with the flow, because this place was AWESOME! When you walk up to the restaurant, you have no clue what to expect when you open the doors. There is outside seating that looks like it would be better suited at a beach-side restaurant and also an outdoor bar, which for some reason reminded me of a tiki-bar. When you open the door, it’s dark and old looking. Lots of ornate decorations, dark wood seating, and you feel like you’re entering a whole ‘nother world! My friend, her husband, and I all ordered the prime rib. My sides were a loaded backed potato and a side salad. They bring out loafs of freshly backed bread as well. The food was all delicious — cooked and seasoned perfectly. They had a decent beer selection and the rest of the menu looked good too. We had the bread pudding for dessert and it was also delicious! The service left a little to be desired, but that didn’t put a damper on anything. The best part about this place were the folks having a jam session in the middle of the restaurant. There had to be at least 10 people on guitars, fiddles, and other instruments I couldn’t see and they were playing and singing and doing a damn good job of it! They played Irish folk music, some Beetles, and other modern songs. They killed every one of them, too! It was such an awesome experience! I’ll definitely go back when in town next time.

In for dinner on a Wednesday night at 6:30. Bar side was busy and noisy so we got seated in another area. I ordered Bangers and Mash $ 13 with a side of coleslaw $ 3. The bangers(3 sausage links) were kind of flat, lacked flavor. It comes with a gravy so I ordered extra to try to get more flavor. The mashed and the coleslaw were very good. My wife ordered the Cabbage Rolls(Cabbage leaves stuffed with finely-ground, seasoned sirloin with tomato sauce. Mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables) $ 13.50. Very good. All portions were just right. Our server, Emily did a great job and answered our questions. Will go back.

how do i explain finding this treasure? yummy, crispy, filling, tender, cold, cool, fun, exciting… just some of the words for a sunday lunch? how does one explain their joy and happiness for being absolutely sated and happy? when you figure it out, holler at me… the beer was crispy and cold. the food was hot and tender and the décor is outstanding. the service was on point. finding a legit irish pub in a corner of dania beach is not what you would think but i am going back. i am definitely planning on exploring more on the menu. prices were perfect, the corned beef and cabbage was amazing as was the fish and chips. our server was a doll, and i’m glad we ended up going inside to eat our meal as the heat was unbearable. the décor is simply stunning and a treasure chest. the high tops are these awesome barrels, the books on the shelves real, what a great find!

Venue: A very nice dark ambiance, with a fitting décor. Unique which I love in restaurants. Food: I’m a fan of franchese dishes(typically chicken franceses) so when I saw dolphin franchese, which I’ve never seen before, I had to try it, and it didn’t disappoint. I also got to have a few bites of the prime rib which was on special. Nothing special but a good eat. For dessert, their bread pudding is actually quite good. Entertainment: live entertainment which is always a plus. Wednesday night is a rod Stewart impersonator. A bit dirty so leave the kids at home. He is quite funny so it was a good time. Service: lacking, which was disappointing. Hard to get waitress attention even though there were a lot of empty tables. Overall I will come back, I’m actually interested in their Beatles night which is Tuesday’s.

We had an awesome dinner here. We were a party of six with two kids. First it seemed the parking lot was more full than the restaurant. It took us ten minutes to get a space and their over flow lot was a field a block down Griffin. Not the best road to walk down with a kid and a infant. So that’s why it’s not five stars. However once we get in the restaurant we were sat immediately. Try to figure that one out. Anyways, they have a really good beer selection and we were able to try a couple of new ones. Everyone’s food was really good. We had the fish and chips, a little pricey but the fish is decent, shepherds pie with cheddar, the pie was awesome but next time no cheese, and the cabbage rolls. This had to be the best of all. It was two cabbage rolls stuffed with ground sirloin and a side of mash potatoes and green beans. The rolls were very delicious and perfectly cooked. I seriously could have had two more rolls. Overall, it was a very successful dinner and I would definitely get the cabbage rolls again.

We invited a few out of town friends and a good friend and fellow Unilocaler Sergio F. here for lunch. One of the reasons why we picked here is because it’s close by our house, and we always get good food and service here. Also, this is a dog-friendly restaurant. Therefore, our four-legged babies are always welcomed. In fact, Sergio F. actually did bring his dog and they went out of their way to serve his dog. Not only they brought out an extra bowl of water for it, they even prepared a grilled chicken off the menu so our doggie friend could also enjoy a nice meal. That’s great service! As for the human guests, we’ve suggested several our favorite dishes so we all could get a little taste. One of the dishes I ordered was the fish and chips. As always, it was lightly friend with lots of flavor in the batter. The fish was cooked perfectly while it tasted nice and crispy on the outside. As a Unilocaler, both Sergio F. and I were taking pictures and posting them on Unilocal!throughout lunch. One of our out of town friend asked us what Unilocal was all about. So we both tried to play the role of the Unilocal Ambassador and explained to her on how we first got involved and shared some of our own experiences since joined the community. She got really excited hearing about it and said she is going to download the app and start her own experience soon. It’s always a great day when you can convince new people to join Unilocal

I’ve heard people speak of «The Field» several times over the past few years, mostly talking about coming here for St. Paddy’s day or to check out one of their tribute bands or performers. While I’ve not been here for any special events, I did come with a few friends on a recent Sunday to try this place for lunch. We expected it to be packed, but there was a space open on their lot when I arrived, and many of the outdoor tables were open. It was a nice day out, so we grabbed one. The waitress was spot on; As often happens, our group arrived in waves, and each person seemed to order food and drinks at different times. Some wanted appetizers for the table to share, while others wanted sandwiches or more substantial items. No matter, the server was awesome and attentive, kept our waters filled, our drinks full and was happy to divide the check as we requested as well. On this day I ordered their Irish dip sandwich with mushrooms and fries, which was very good. I also sampled the Irish sausage rolls and their soft pretzels with cheese and mustard dipping sauces. Both were very good as well. I went inside to tour the place, and I must say, it’s homey, kitschy and warm inside, with Irish décor and knickknacks everywhere, a few nooks with comfy chairs to sit in, a few fake fireplaces, etc. Inside, The Field very much feels like a proper Irish tavern that one might find out in the sticks somewhere. For the Irish dip sandwich, fries and 2 Guinness’, my tab came to $ 24.38 before gratuity. I’m a fan of this place, the vibe, the décor, the menu and some of the entertainment they advertise. I’ll be back!

A magical spot with soul satisfying Irish comfort food, good draft beer and cheerful staff that hustles. Gosh, I think the 5 star may be because of the most unusual and delightful lunch companion. No, not just that, but that I was honored to spend an afternoon with a beautiful wise woman in a fabulous location I had book marked not that long ago. As she regaled me with tales of friends who have passed, karma metted out and destinies to be experienced, I delighted that we were well in within a Irish bar just a day prior to St. Patty’s Day. So discussions of fairies, leprechauns, and of the other world’s thin veils was utterly appropriate. But the food —- I did a double dish; Shepards Pie for lunch and Chicken Pot Pie for home(dinner). I honestly did not think I would eat too much(was a bit under the weather) however as my lunch mate weaved her stories, I found myself deeply contented with a full belly and an empty plate. Later that evening, I would do equal damage to the Chicken pie. I will be back. As often as I can sneak to this corner of the world.

Lunch outside, does it get any better? We got one of the tables by the front parking lot under the 100 year old Banyan tree which was really quite lovely. It’s a tight little parking lot and some folks seem to need to drive these massive land yachts. Anyway… Lunch menu is nice with a two soup and salad or soup/salad/special which is nice. They’re pretty quick which is also nice. I had the potato soup(which is just like New England Clam Chowder but hold the clams) and the fish sandwich grilled. Nice thick piece of fish on a ciabatta roll with lettuce and tomato and onion. Quite tasty and a good sized portion. The cole slaw on the side was good as well. My only complaint is that they only have unsweetened iced tea. Or as the some would call it, «Northern Tea». Isn’t Florida in the South? Why no sweet tea? Oh well. Good food, nice outside seating, decent service. It’s four stars from me!

A dog friendly restaurant away from the touristy areas will always get love from me. After taking my little one to the vet, my friends Howie and Amanda(also pet parents) suggested we stop for lunch here. Our little ones were welcome to sit on the patio and the waiter even brought water to them. They started off with a warm bread, fresh out of the oven but you can’t even see a little bit a smoke escaping from it. They were also generous with the butter. I was hungry so I went for their burger. Medium well this burger was a very juicy half pound of meat with Swiss cheese nicely melted in. They did charge for the cheese but that was no problem. They also brought in and served with a rich smoky barbecue sauce. I sampled the shepherds pie for the first time, and I liked it! It reminds me of the«papa rellena”(stuffed potato with ground beef and cheese) I ate as a child. The burger was huge, and I left some space for the cinnamony sweet bread pudding. Decorated with whipped crème and an orange slice, it was as delicious as recommended by my lunch companions. The rustic look, and 100 year old banyan tree in the entrance of the property, give it a cool look. Service was very pleasant, although we did have a little bit of the wait for our dessert. And of course, they’re dog friendly!

The only word to describe this place is DIVINE! To start, the atmosphere is like a little piece of Ireland in Dania Beach. The wooden floors, cozy dining areas, and live Irish music on the weekends really add to this restaurant’s authenticity. I came here on a Friday night after work with Christina M and it was definitely a great way to wind down from the week. To start, we ordered the potato skins. These were actual potatoes skins filled with cheese and bacon bits. They were served hot and extremely delicious. For the entrée, I had the Irish Stew. The stew was extremely thick; not brothy at all. It was full of huge chunks of lamb and potatoes, along with some vegetables. It was served with a nice little loaf of country bread which was a multigrain loaf you could dip into the stew. The portion was huge and way too much for me to finish. Lastly, the dessert! Oh how to describe the wonderfulness of the whiskey bread pudding with cinnamon ice cream. There was only a hint of the whiskey in the bread pudding and the fork cut right through. The cinnamon ice cream was so good I asked if I could buy something similar at the grocery store. If you check this place out, you need to try this dessert! I really, absolutely, positively LOVE«The Field» and I can’t wait to return!

The tables are nice and the seats are cushioned, so it’s comfortable, yet it still has a festive vibe to it. Actually, on this visit, we started off inside the restaurant. We were seated right behind another family that had a tired and hungry baby along to help convince us that we really should have stuck with Plan A. We sat for two minutes before opting to change our minds and head outside for some peace and fresh air. They were very nice about it too. We started off with the fish dip appetizer, and it was decent, but I wasn’t wowed with it. They serve it with long sesame crackers, so if that is your thing, you may enjoy this more than I did. I actually prefer saltines. What I was really there for was to try the fish and chips, so I indulged Hubby and sampled the dip, but as soon as our server returned put my order in. Hubby was also wanting to have fish and chips, but was thinking of other possible options, so I told him I would order the larger fish and chips, which comes with two ample sized fillets. I could only eat one, so he would have the other, plus whatever else he would like. He went with the stuffed cabbage. We were both very happy with our dinners. I have had a heck of a time finding decent fish and chips in South Florida. Recently as last week, I had ordered some where the batter was so hard and crunchy and the the fillet was so thin that it was like eating a flat piece of crust. Fortunately, here the batter complimented the fish, and the fish itself was flaky and tasty. I alternated between the malt vinegar and the tartar sauce. I am a fool for sauces, but I also liked how the malt vinegar brought out the flavor of the fish. The chips were also very good, and not the standard French Fries. The service was great as well. They were very nice and it was a full team effort here. Everyone did their job, and Hubby was very happy with his Guinness draft. We had stopped at another pub before coming here, and they didn’t know how to poor his beer at that place, too much foam. They got it right at The Field, which made Hubby very happy. I was happy because they were nice, fast and got everything right. So we were both winners here!
