Overall a nice tapas place. Coming from NY it’s hard to truly compare. The meat and cheese boards were standard bit nothing that makes this place completely standout. Would defiantly come back again to try a pizza or burger.

Almost passed by this gem and so glad we stopped. We were warmly greeted, seated outside, and surprised to find out that the wine that day was half priced! Got a lovely bottle of Cotes du Rhone and order some tapas. We started with the smoked salmon and lemon cream cheese which was delightful. Silky, perfectly balanced and clean tasting. We then had the duck and fig and goat cheese which was a close favorite, followed by a truffle brie compliments of the chef. The truffles were a huge punch to the face followed quickly by the smooth creaminess of the Brie. Incredible. We stayed for another glass of wine and had a lovely time speaking French with the owner and the bartender. Took me back to St Martin. This place is a treasure and we were disappointed that so many locals and tourists seem to pass this spot by. Perhaps poor taste? Truly worth the visit.

The food was delicious! Restaurant décor and live music was beautiful touch! We had tartar and 2 tapas(2 adults) and wine. Too bad the place was kind of empty, but with this food I would definitely go back for more!

Food was excellent! Loved the tuna carpaccio — truffle accent! Onion rings per teenager — beast we’ve had in a long time. Horseradish/ranch dip for the rings. Service? Well, Adrian seemed overwhelmed and not apologetic. An apology goes a long way.

I made a Unilocal account just for this review. Rossini burger was very tasty. Sangria was refreshing. The chef seems cool too.

As our group of 4 meandering along las Olas we chose the Boarding Restaurant because they had an open table outside in the shade. We wanted burgers and fish sandwiches, but thought $ 18 for a burger was steep. So we opted for the tapas and a cheese and pâté’ board. The tapas weren’t traditional or small bites to share. With that said, the fig, duck and goat cheese atop crusty French bread was an amazing cornucopia of flavors that sang to me. It was sweet and salty and I love sweets, but needed more salty for balance, it was amazing. The second tapa was prociutto, and cheese also atop crusty bread… it too was phenomenal. The third entre was pâté’ and cheese that screemed French cuisine. The portions were light so be sure to plan accordingly… perhaps a beer or delicious sangria they offer can help fill you. I will definitely come back to try something else. The atmosphere and service was excellent, and being a local may get you an «extra bonus.» which I won’t reveal in fear of getting someone in trouble. I’ve been going to Café Europa on a regular basis for years and never even received a complimentary scoop of ice cream or sorbet to try. As a regular who brings guests to places they enjoy, the added courtesy from The Boarding was as memorable as the meal. Thanks for a memorable meal our out of state friends will brag about.

Stopped in after dinner. There were 4 of us. Decided to sit at the bar. So refreshing to be out with friends and not have to compete with a TV to hear the conversation. Great selection of wines/beers. We will go back again and give the desserts a try!

Excellent service in a casual atmosphere. The duck, fig snd goat cheese on crusty french bread was out of this world. The tomato and mozzarella cheese salad was fresh and tasty. There are other salads, sandwiches, burgers and risotto(going back to try that, for sure) as well. Plus a few well chosen desserts… the Chocolate Mousse was the right choice.

The Boarding is the replacement for Cheese Culture located on Las Olas east of US1. It’s only been open for a few months and has a lot of potential, but I hope that the management works some of its kinks out. There is outside seating near the entrance and, as you enter, you are greeted by a long bar that leads to tables at the far back of the restaurant. The décor is modern, the colors are mostly grey, the food is served on what seems to be slate and they feature artwork of local artists. If you order a bottle of wine, they put it in a red stiletto wine holder which some people may love, but I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it on sale at Marshalls. When I was there on a Saturday night, the bar was half-full and the tables at the back were mostly empty. The menu is limited to a few selections of «tapas», sandwiches, and quiche. Our party came with rumbling stomachs and decided to order the Guadineto which was a slice of their bread topped with figs, goat cheese and duck breast. The flavors were phenomenal! The balance of sweet and salty was executed brilliantly. The duck was the best I have ever had and not overwhelmed with fat. The side salad was a nice touch and consisted of mixed greens and balsamic dressing. I personally don’t think that something should be called a «tapa» if it’s not easy to share. We all had our knives in the plate cutting away at the bread. It was also $ 15 which is a bit steep for a small plate(even though it was delicious). The overall experience was nice. Even though the restaurant was a little dark, they made up for it with lights in mason jars at each table and the rich, smooth sounds of pianist and singer, Gonzalo Costa. At one point, the owner came out and offered freshly baked madeleines to every guest which were sweet, spongy pieces of heaven with a kiss of vanilla. With hospitality like that from the owner, this place is going to go far. I will be visiting The Boarding again soon to sample their dessert menu. Just keep in mind that if you are coming here with an empty stomach, plan on going somewhere else for a dinner entrée.

Wow oh wow oh wow!!! The owner/chef came to our table and explained each dish, his inspiration for it, and gave us one of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had. Each tapas dish feeds two Very comfortably and the chef said if anyone has had a better tiramisu he will give you it for free! The service was amazing and the guy who owns it is such a visionary and an honest and genuine guy. Check it out!

Wow! Pleasantly surprised. This used to be Cheese Culture. The Boarding is a much better place. I had the Salmon Macaron. The flavors were balanced, very tasty. The macaron was quite large, not a small cookie type. My husband had the Truffle Brie de Meaux. His was great too. Mine was gluten-free. I wish they had more wines by the glass. Almost gave 4 stars due to this, but the dishes we had were exceptional.
