My husband & I are huge fans of New Orleans food, love our crawfish & thought we would try out a new place where it was served. Well we ended up being disappointed with the whole experience. From the not so friendly service & the very plain without flavor crawfish. Don’t see us returning here!

Ok I have been neglectful by not throwing this place some big time support. It is the best sports bar food wise in all of Ft lauderdale. They lack for nothing. They have bar none thee beat wing sauce, that is if you get them Voodoo style. Cajun style hot that is found throughout the menu. Burgers rock as does the voodoo chicken. Hey I’m not a huge Cajun spice guy but I do appreciate when a place gets the flavors popping in your mouth. Come for the wings and challenge yourself with the crawfish 3 lb bucket. Yep they got it all including tator tots. Yep. Once you try it you will go back. Again and again

I’m a big fan of Shuck & Dive and wish I could visit more frequently. On my most recent visit, I got there right during the lunch rush and seating was limited. I waited 1 – 2 minutes and Jenni got me seated at the end of the bar and was also my waitress/bartender. Super nice girl, in fact everyone in there is super nice and was making a point to say hi to me. I have to break out of my routine on subsequent visits and try different stuff. Having lived in N’Awlins for 5 yrs, I’m no stranger or rookie when it comes to good Cajun food. There’s nowhere else in this town to get authentic Cajun food, period! The restaurant is all decorated in LSU and Mardi Gras themed pictures and stuff. There’s always traditional Cajun music playing in the background so you get the full experience. I’ve only ever had the ½ shrimp and ½ oyster Po-boy. Comes on a traditional Po-boy loaf and piled high with oysters and shrimp. I always get Remoulade sauce and tarter to add to my sandwich but the flavors are perfect on their own that you really don’t need it, it’s just my personal preference. The wait isn’t long, maybe 10 – 15 minutes for food to come out. The portions are good sized and the food is always hot and delicious. If you’re a fan of cajun food, do yourself a favor and get in here, you won’t regret it.

Where do I begin… this place is probably one of my new favorite go-to’s for cajun food! The food was surprisingly spicy for someone like me, who has a higher spice tolerance. The ambiance is great for a casual dinner in a homey place(for lack of a better word). I love going on Wednesdays, where the oysters are $ 1 each, and their crawfish is definitely one of the best I’ve ever had! It makes me sad to think crawfish season is almost over, but if you can squeeze in a visit before it is, I would highly recommend it! The only thing I can say as a negative would be if you ordered the additional«fixins» with the crawfish, which is the corn, potato, and andouille sausage, you literally only get one of each for $ 3 extra or something like that… which is really not enough, especially if you’re sharing a 5 lb. bucket with your tablemates! Otherwise, they have other delicious options for the non seafood-eaters and it’s a great place to watch sports games! I will be coming more often for sure :)

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a long time. Nothing overly impressed me though. We had the blackened skirt steak, mac and cheese, tator tots, and the bread pudding. Steak was juicy but not a lot of flavor. Mac and cheese was nothing spectacular. Tator tots were crispy. The bread pudding had a very eggy/crème Brule flavor to it. It was served warm and enough for two people to share for the $ 7. Service was great. There is parking in the attached parking lot. They have tvs showing sports and a bar area. It was just ok and I’m not a seafood person so maybe that is what they specialize in and I didn’t try it.

My friend and I went during lunch yesterday and the only seats available were at the bar. Bad idea for me. Since I witnessed how they actually clean the water glasses. Quick dunks in the three compartment sink and ready for use. A couple of times while the main wash was being refilled with water, the older man just skipped it and went to the next to rinses. It all made me feel a little grossed out. I couldn’t drink my water after witnessing all that. The oyster po boy was delicious. I am left torn about this place. Good food, poor sanitation.

Sunday Dinner special fried chicken with mashed potatoes and collard greens has huge portions so bring a hearty appetite. I ordered my favorite fried catfish this time with red beans and rice and tots. Fried Green tomatoes are delectable.

This place has been bookmarked on my Unilocal page since I moved to Florida over a year ago. Finally got a chance to check it out but I must say I was disappointed. I ordered the Crawfish Etouffe and while it was filled with plenty of crawfish the dish itself was SOBLAND! I kept adding pepper, hot sauce & their garlic sauce on the table to add some flavor! The Cajun dressing I had for my salad had more flavor than the etouffe. Service was real relaxed and friendly. Drinks sat empty and we had to ask for another one but other than that the service was decent. I’ve been to New Orleans more times than I can count and have had the real deal. Unfortunately Shuck ‘N Dive definitely missed the mark when trying to create that Cajun flavor!

This is one of the best restaurant and bars that you will find in Fort Lauderdale. All of their cajun dishes are really authentic and flavorful, some of the best this side of the Mississippi River. They also have fantastic daily specials that are fantastic. When they have crawfish, expect some of the best you have ever had and at really affordable prices. Save room for dessert, the bread pudding is «to die for», if you opt to share, you may regret it.

The wings with the voodoo sauce where good, service could be a lil better I was very disappointed of the fact that they did NOT have an open bar … With spicy food, you gonna need a shot of jack Daniels in your ice tea(witch was REALLYGOOD btw) food pretty good.

First time trying the Fresh Boiled Crawfish today, we order 1 ½ lbs for $ 13 dollars, OMG it was sooo good, a little bit work but totally worth it! I’ll come back next week for 3 lbs or maybe even 5 !! The Bread Pudding with Bourbon sauce is one of my favorite too, my kind of «happy ending»

Fried green tomatoes are on point. Hush puppies were also delish! For my entrée I ordered the crawfish etouffe, which was fresh and fabulous. We came on a Sunday and were tempted by the chicken specials(see photos)– but agreed it would make for a good reason to come back. As if we needed an excuse!

First off I do like the food at Shuck ‘N Dive, I have supported their Crawfish Debauchery festivals since day one, and I introduced my co-workers to the restaurant and they really love it. This review is more about the ownership and poor customer service that I recently experienced at what used to be one of my top 3 restaurants. I stopped by there for a late lunch with my family on Sunday as I was craving their boiled crawfish, the order comes out and as usual the meal was very tasty. I am about halfway through and I grabbed one mudbug and noticed it was missing a tail, I grabbed a second and third mudbug, sucked on the heads and also realized they were missing their tails. I check the remaining crawfish and it turns out that I was served crawfish heads and shells that someone else had eaten and sucked on, to make matters worse I sucked on the very same heads that someone else had before me. I did my best to not make a scene as I was pretty disgusted and called my server over and explained what had happened and it was almost as if she did not believe me as she had a very puzzled look on her face. She took the remaining crawfish back to the kitchen and went about requesting a fresh order for me. I saw that the owner was present and called her over and whispered what had happened and the only response I got was«got it» and she too went back to the kitchen area. A few moments later a fresh order of crawfish was brought out and after thoroughly checking it I finished my meal, the owner even brought me a beer. Considering the magnitude of what took place and the health violation that just took place I would expect at least a «sorry» or at the very least to be comped for the crawfish and/or the meal but I understand that I did eat the second order of crawfish so I guess I should be happy with the(1) free beer on the house. Unfortunately I have noticed that Shuck ‘N Dive has changed over time and the attitude of the ownership and servers at times has been that they are doing me a favor but they forget that it is the customers that«keep the lights on» at their restaurant and without our patronage they will not have a business. I know that I should have spoken up when the bill came but considering the fact that I have been going there for years I just expected much more for a mistake of this magnitude and chose to remain silent. Again, the food has always been great but going forward I will find it very hard to even think of going back to Shuck ‘N Dive.

I walk by this place every week after my Barre class next door and finally had a meal there. There’s indoor and outdoor seating as well as a bar area inside. The environment is very casual and lax. Theres no hostess desk but the servers will come to you no matter where you decide to sit. We decided to sit outside as it was a cool night. I had the crawfish étouffée and my friend had a sausage po boy with a purple haze beer. I’ve had crawfish étouffée before and most places made this dish very Salty and crazy spicy. But at Shuck n Dive it was perfectly seasoned and still very flavorful without being overbearing. I loved how soft the rice was and the crawfish was overcooked. I tried the po boy as well, the sausage itself was a little spicy and has a kick at the end. But still very tasty.

I heard about this restaurant on «Check Please South Florida» and I enjoy their restaurant recommendations. We went there this afteroon and it wasn’t good. The issues I have are: 1. The food is bland, real bland. The creole vinegrette with the house salad was the most flavaorful thing we had. It was great. I ordered the Mahi meal with crawfish E. The Crawfish E. was great, but the mahi itself was tough, and the red beans and rice had no «stank» on them. Popeyes has more flavorful red beans and rice. 2. They don’t have fountain drinks(except iced tea) only can drinks which is a bummer. 3. The service started off good, then our server left to go home and we were on our own after that. The prices are fair, the portions are fair, the quality is far, the food is just bland. The Banana pudding dessert(they were out of their famous bread pudding I wanted to try, another negative) was great. They add ginger and other spices. I won’t be coming here again. .. sorry.

After anticipating coming here for a very long time, I finally took the drive and visited. My overall impression was that it was OK, though the main courses we had wasn’t something extraordinary or drive out of the way for. The appetizer, Fried Green Tomatoes was very delicious. This on itself was the highlight of our lunch. Nice and crispy with a sauce over it and peppers and other condiments. Yum! I ordered the Fried Chicken with Rice and Beans and Tots. I ordered this after seeing a photo here on Unilocal and someone claiming that it was the best fried chicken they’ve ever had. It was bland. The meat had no flavor. The breading was just breading. Definitely this chicken was not marinated at all. Rice and bean was ok, though the seasoning wasn’t that strong. Just ok. Tots were delicious. Very crispy and tender in the inside. For dessert we ordered the bread banana pudding. It was ok. The sauce that they cover it with is very delicious. Completely worth the $ 7. If I’m in the area, I’d visit again and order something else. I’m ok with this restaurant.

I’ve been thinking about the crawfish étouffée since we left, it was hands down one of the best meals we ate in Fort Lauderdale. There really aren’t any great authentic cajun restaurants in Connecticut, so I jumped at the opportunity to check this place out while we were on vacation. We started off with two beers, which were ice cold and delicious, and the fried green tomato appetizer. My boyfriend actually said wow when he tried it, the flavor was completely different than what I expected, but in the best way possible. It was amazing how much flavor they were able to pack into this appetizer, it was definitely a good start to our meal! We also tried out the hush puppies which were tasty and my boyfriend devoured them, but totally unnecessary, we just had too much food. After reading reviews and seeing pictures, we both walked in knowing that we were ordering the crawfish etoufee as our entrée. It comes in two different sizes, we both ordered the small, which would’ve been more than enough even if we hadn’t ordered any appetizers. Neither of us had ever tried crawfish before(I know, right?) and we were both blown away by this dish. Absolutely delicious, amazing flavor, incredible dish. I’m so mad there’s nothing like it anywhere even remotely close to where we live, because I.want.more!!! I can’t rave about it enough, just try it. Service was fantastic, friendly and quick, couldn’t ask for anything more. Prices were unreal, I actually double checked the bill because I thought they must have left something off. It was under $ 55 for two appetizers, two drinks, side salads(which were great as well), and two huge seafood dishes. definitely a gem in a land of overpriced, poorly serviced, mediocre Fort Lauderdale hot spots.

I’ve passed Shuck ‘N Dive so many times, and never knew it was tucked away in this shopping center. This is a big New Orleans sports team bar, so expect a ton of jerseys and high fives on game days. It’s kind of a sports bar — but isn’t divey at all. Because it’s in a shopping center that’s always buzzing with activity, sometimes the parking might be tough to get — but luckily for me on a weekend afternoon I found easy parking right out front. They have some booths and a center bar where you can sit to watch the games — as well as an outdoor area which is covered. We started with the cheese fries — ehh. To me they felt like they were frozen fries with some shredded cheddar tossed on top and thrown in the oven for a few minutes. The cheese was barely melted and it was basically all clumped up together so only a few bites really had cheese, the rest were just fries. A little disappointed. Fried green tomatoes — My wife got these to start and they deff made up for the fries. These were indeed some of the best fried green tomatoes I’ve had. They come with a sauce drizzled on that’s creamy and a little spicy… it’s amazing. It’s a big dish — so plan to share it as an appetizer. Crawfish étouffée — Really this is the reason I came here in the first place. After publishing the list of Unilocal’s 15 Must Have Dishes in BPB this one really stood out to me. It didn’t disappoint. The creamy crawfish over rice was hearty, delicious, and deserves to be on the Must Have Dish list. One more gripe — they do canned sodas. This is always pretty bothersome, especially at a casual dining restaurant. The dish was a little spicy, so I did order a second soda… which really adds up. I think all casual dining restaurants should have fountain sodas, with free refills. Overall it was some good eats — and I haven’t seen too many places in BPB with this New Orleans style fare. I’ll be back for sure!

Shuck N Dive is high quality seafood that’s not very pricey. I, also, love the laid-back, Southern atmosphere! My boyfriend and I ordered the Fresh Louisiana Shucked Select Oysters and the Garlic Crab Claws. Both were really tasty and fresh(especially the oysters)! The Garlic Crab Claws had more of a lemon flavor than a garlic flavor, but it was still really good not to mention the shell was broken off and ready to eat. I ordered the Fried Louisiana Oysters with a side each of Mac N’ Cheese and Sweet Potato Fries. The sides were fantastic! The Fried Oysters were okay, it didn’t have a lot of flavor. My boyfriend ordered the Fried Gulf Shrimp with a side of Hush Puppies and Tater Tots. Again, the sides were really really good! But the best part were the Fried Gulf Shrimp! It was flavorful, meaty and oh so good! I kept stealing shrimp from him because it was delicious. I would recommend the Fresh Louisiana Shucked Select Oysters(if your into the whole raw food thing) and the Gulf Shrimp. Definitely worth every penny!
