good service. Italian food is average, and way overpriced by 50−100%. This was my first (and last) visit to this bistro. Not good value! I definitely would NOTRECOMMEND this restaurant to anyone I know. Nahum(Boston, MA)

Great neighborhood bistro. Appetizers are creative and delicious– we loved the burrata with tomatoes, arugula and peppers. Bruschetta was also great. Grilled romaine is excellent but could have more dressing. All are great to share. Pasta is excellent– shrimp on seafood pasta were large and tasty; egplant pasta was baked perfectly so that pasta wasnt overcooked. Fish main dishes were excellent. And the pannacotta was a real highlight– again it was easily shared by 3 of us. This is a great addition to 33rd Street, and it filled up by about 7:30 on weekday

Classy, the ambiance is superb, absolutely a lot of thought & heart went into the design and decoration of this gem. Wine list is wonderful and the servers are very knowledgable and you can tell have a great passion for the industry. And above all the Octopus is out of this world. If you have that mastered you know everything else is going to be top notch! This place definitely has quite the charm!

Scolapasta Bistro is really more of what I would consider a restaurant than a bistro. Though it has some good sidewalk patio seating the very nice interior décor and extensive upscale menu offerings are more than one would expect from a bistro. Scolapasta Bistro has only been open for about 5 months and it’s another Italian restaurant within an area that already has a good number of Italian restaurants, however it is one of the better ones in menu offerings, food quality, service and dining atmosphere. I started off with their antipasti section of grilled octopus and calamari, $ 18.00, which was prepared with fennel, olive oil and potatoes. When served, though rather small in size, had a decent presentation about, was tasty enough with the octopus being some of the most tender I’ve ever had as well as being flavorful. Their appetizer or antipasti selection consists of 9 items ranging from a Wagyu beef carpaccio to an heirloom tomato salad, cured meats, cheese plus a nightly special or two. The menu is further divided in to «Prima» and«Secondi» selections with the prima generally being of pasta and the secondi comprised of meats, fish and poultry. When my waiter arrived to take my next order, he had a number of house special offerings for the night. Of those specials I selected the puttanesca, which if you literally translate from Italian, means«sauce of the whores.» LOL! My puttanesca came in a good presentation over linguine, had a good flavor about it though I thought rather light on the anchovy as I couldn’t distinguish it as being a part of the sauce. At this point I decided to have a little fun with my waiter and asked him what puttanesca might mean. I could hardly contain my laughter as he beat around the bush by first telling me that the meaning was attributable to women who after work came home and prepared their meal from whatever they had available. After I persisted, he finally admitted that after work meant«working the streets,» to which I responded, «you don’t mean to tell me that your serving me the food of Italian prostitutes,» which really set him reeling backwards exclaiming«Oh gawd!» That is until I let out a roaring laugh which immediately let him know that I was just having fun with him. Overall for the puttanesca, other than the fact that I believe they used an anchovy paste instead of whole anchovy, was the same as I’ve had in Italy and truthfully wouldn’t know the difference as the linguine came out perfect al dente. While I was there I couldn’t help but note some other customers who had ordered menu listed veal chop and their special filet of the night which looked delicious, served in a good presentation upon a wooden plank. It’s something I will look forward to having when I return.

This restaurant reminds me of a little neighborhood place in Boston or New York. The food was yummy and wine by glass was good. The owners were over the top nice! Just loved them and everyone who works there is also so nice. Service was great. My husband had NY strip and said was amazing. I had salmon which was delicious but saw pasta dishes that looked so great too and was envious. If you are looking for that little neighborhood feel that is warm and cozy this is the place to go.

This is a sophisticated casual Italian restaurant, built on the farm to table concept, with great food and service. The ambiance is modern rustic, and the whole experience was great. My husband and I shared a grilled octopus and calamari appetizer that was excellent, grilled perfectly, and included olives and potatoes. We ordered specials which were organic lamb chops with rosemary and little neck clams with a complex vegetable sauce over linguine. Both were excellent and prepared as ordered. The wines were delicious, loved dessert and the owner was very gracious. We were blown away that this is a neighborhood restaurant and we will definitely return.

Thoroughly enjoyed my recent Dining experience at Scolapasta! My Mom and I had dinner and dessert(you MUST try the zabiglione!) and were cared for by our server, Victor, so attentively, it felt as though we were family. The food was fresh and flavorful, definitely a reflection of the farm-to-table concept the bistro embodies. Would definitely recommend this place — and will no doubt be back when visiting Florida in the future!

Best Google search find! Came here last night with my family and it was beyond DELICIOUS. I live in NYC and I have to say this restaurant was as if you were dining in SOHO. Authentic Italian food instead of your typical Italian American find. Definitely recommending this to all my family and friends that live out here!

When it open their doors was absolutely fantastic. We went last night and what a disappointment, the executive chef was not there and the food was soooooo bad and very expensive. Imagine a veal chops for $ 62. Ridiculous. The dish I had did not had any flavors at all. So sad.

We ate there and had an AMAZING dinner! Holy Sirloin Special with pearl onions & mushrooms! My boyfriend ordered it and I want to go back to have it! This was a meal we walked away from & spent the whole week talking about. I have to thank the Chef — Kostas, an artist in the truest sense of the word!

Had an enjoyable dinner here tonight. I absolutely loved the ambiance, very intimate and cozy. The food was enjoyable with the standout being the snapper-crispy skin, delicate and flaky inside. The appetizers were light and unique but not exceptional-tried the grilled romaine hearts and the grilled octopus and calamari. The latter was much more noteworthy. The octopus was cooked perfectly but I would’ve preferred more creativity with the flavors. We also ordered the veal gnocchi and it too was lovely-simple and tasty but lacking pizzaz to be truly craveable. The ingredients were fresh and of high quality(embodying the farm to table concept) but I’d like to see more creative ingredient pairings and flavor profiles to make this place a true gem. Glad we gave it a shot, definitely worth it.

Small intimate atmosphere and phenomenal food. This place is right up there with the many great Italian restaurants in Fort Lauderdale. Great service. Farm to table with daily specials. You must try this new spot.

Phenomenal Italian food, authentic, excellent addition to the neighborhood. Very unique menu with Polenta board on it. Everything is super fresh. The meat and cheese board is very well prepared and very reasonably priced. I love Italian food, and even with tons of options in the area, most places are junk. I highly reccomend Scolapasta.

Welcome to the neighborhood! Yet another Italian restaurant on the block to compete with Lucca and La Dolce Vita just a few steps away. But after our first visit, this place takes top honors to be crave worthy enough to come back very soon. The name of the restaurant, as the waiters tell each of the guests, comes from the Italian word for«colander», of which there are many scattered around the restaurant. The ambiance is warm and inviting, particularly the tables near the rear of the restaurant. One person we spoke with said the construction took more than 9 months, totally transforming the 2 previous businesses that once occupied the space, including a salon. The restaurant espouses the now familiar farm to table concept. I’m happy to report the food lived up to the high standards the concept implies. The meal started with an amuse bouche of rigatoni with fava beans and light cheese sauce. Following was a basket of delicious bread and garlic scented olive oil. Top quality oil. Ask for some balsamic and you’ll get 25 year old gorgeously smooth vinegar from Modena. The positive trend continued into the meal. The Buratta with heirloom tomatoes was spectacular and we felt good value at $ 15. My partner had delicious Pollo al Mattone, chicken under a brick, $ 24. I had the Rigatoni with eggplant, $ 18. While I enjoyed the pasta, it was the chicken that stole the show. The service was professional and caring, without being overbearing. The restaurant does not take reservations. They have very little web presence right now but said their website should be up shortly. Highly recommend this new gem in the Galt Ocean shoppes area.
