I had the wonderful pleasure of dining at Sage last night. I am in the food and beverage industry meaning I am very particular about restaurants. Last night’s dinner was absolutely amazing! Laurent made us a fantastic shrimp appetizer prepared like his escargot appetizer. Fantastic!!! I had the peppercorn filet and it was prepared perfectly! The filet mignon was so tender paired with the best peppercorn«au poivre» sauce I have ever had! Dan was our server and he was excellent. We were on a date and he gave fine dining service with minimal interruptions. I highly recommend this restaurant and will return shortly!

Went for a dinner on an empty thursday night. The table split a bunch of apps, Foie Gras, Mussels were outstanding and they served an excellent crunchy bread with an olive tapenade. We had a couple of Bouillabaisse, a lamb chop and veggie dish and a steak. This is a nice space with a grand high ceiling that adds to the ambiance of the place. Perhaps because i was with a bunch of X-New Yorkers dining on French food and Burgundy, I thought it was a grand evening over all. Monday and Tuesday are BOGO, so we shall definitely be checking that out. Looking forward to returning soon.

Used to love that restaurant. Weeks ago went and was disappointed, but decided to give it a try today: a total disaster in every way. Never going back there unless I hear there is finally a CHEF… Wasted money and time!

Well to start off it said the place closed at 11 and we showed up at 930 and a manager kept repeating let me check if the kitchen is open even after I insisted I go some where else. I ordered the beef stew and mashed potatoes. French onion soup to start. The soup was decent the bread they served at the table was cold. I do not feel that my date and I had a $ 100 meal last night by far or a $ 100 experience i personally won’t be returning maybe if you go earlier in the day you’re better off and you don’t have a bunch of tattoos you won’t get pushed out in a hurry. The manager came by the table again to remind us the kitchen was closing to show us the desert menu. There was a 6 top sitting a cross from me I felt like I was being profiled. But it’s ok the waitress was a doll and I tipped her an extra $ 5 on top of 20%… So my advice to you. Don’t go if you are hungry. And don’t go at night. Oh don’t go if you have tattoos. Also don’t go if you plan on only having the busboy refill your drink once… The price of the menu doesn’t match the quality of service just like the closing time on the internet doesn’t match the closing time at the store. Sorry guys don’t like leaving bad reviews but I felt insulted. Extra star for the waitress

Decided to eat here after seeing it advertised at a Florida Panther’s home game. Went with my GF, mom, dad, and sister(my brother and sister in law were being bioooootches that day and didn’t want to come). We were told to make reservations. So we made one for 630. Not sure why because we were only the SECOND party in the place. *shrug* The staff was very nice and helpful with choosing entrees. I did notice that the hostesses were dressed a tad too casual for this type of setting– one was wearing jeans and the other was wearing yoga pants and a tank top you’d wear to do a full upper body workout, both had on tennis shoes. Oh well, maybe the owner is ok with the comfort factor? Anyways, on to the food. The prices are moderate, but I felt that the amount I was served was too small for the pricing. I chose the steak minute. The flavors are all on point, but I literally had 2 small pieces of carrot, 2 tiny pieces of potato, and 1 piece of broccoli for my veggies, my protein portion may have been 3 oz before it was cooked. It was very very tender though. Everyone did enjoy the flavors of their meals quite a bit– roasted duck, salmon, cassoulet a L’armagnac, and a seafood special of the day were ordered. I shared the banana pudding dessert with my sister and we both felt that the chocolate was a little much for the dessert, but it was still pretty good. I would not drive all the way east again just to go here, but if I was in the area I would consider it.

I ate dinner here a few months ago and will never return. I was halfway through eating a steak when I noticed a massively long hair wrapped around it. Yes, WRAPPED around the steak. I’m not sure how that is even possible. I could forgive perhaps a small hair ending up on my plate. That happens… But wrapped around the steak as if Rapunzel was using it as a curling iron? Gross. And to make matters worse the steak was overcooked and rubbery.

I had a craving for Sage’s Speculator French Toast and a Mimosa talk about treating yourself, it was outstanding. Thank you to Gregory my server he was so generous and asked the chef if he would make the dish for me since it wasn’t on the menu today, you are a doll! The french toast were crisp with a gentle dusting of powdered sugar and fresh sweet strawberries. I cooed like a baby as I ate the three slices of heaven. I feel so satisfied and blessed! Next time I will try the Seafood Bouillabaisse a rich seafood stew.

I went to Sage for with a friend. It had been recommended by a neighbor. The service was terrific. Two attentive servers checked on us several times during the meal. The food was good. I had Quiche Lorraine. My friend had Ratatouille. The Ratatouille was the better choice. We both will likely return. Thursday March 24th Came with a group of 5 and had a great time. We were running 10mins late but they were able to accommodate us and sat us immediately. It was between rushes when we came around 7pm but never got unbearably noisy or crowded. Server was knowledgeable of specials and menu items, kept the wine flowing and water topped up. They were very kind and understanding of the service dog in our party as well. I started with the tuna tartare special. A decent, round portion of diced raw tuna and tomatoes, with what was essentially a layer of guacamole on top. A little kick at the end. The presentation was lovely, wish I’d taken a picture, and the dish was fresh and light with just the right balance of tastes! I had the mussels with garlic cream sauce as a main, also delicious. Server offered a side of fries which I thought was weird but it’s apparently common in France to have fries with mussels so why not! For dessert I had the crème brûlée: not too heavy, not over-torched, with berries on top. They also offered a key lime one which I hope to try next visit! We also split a molten chocolate cake with ice cream. Standard molten cake– if it ain’t broke don’t fix it! No one had any complaints at our table. It was a quiet Thursday night but they had a 50% wine promo going on. It’s my second time dining here and I look forward to visiting again!

We were here with reservations for 5 people on Saturday night. We were seated right away and the restaurant was nearly full. The tables are very close together and it is a little awkward when it is at capacity and there were several incidences with people bumping into thumbs and even a wine ice bucket was dumped over by guests being seated. We came for my nephews 20th birthday, specifically for the roasted duck. There was very yummy olive tepanade served with our waters and we asked for more and they promptly delivered. Three of us had the roasted duck $ 27, one had a grilled salmon salad $ 14 and one had a burger with salad $ 13. The menu was rather small but they had several daily specials too. The food quality was very good and our server was outstanding. She was a younger woman with black hair and glasses, I can’t remember her name. It was a birthday celebration and she picked up on that and brought out a small cake at the end with 5 plates at n/c. The wine list was so so, as in most restaurants. We had asked to bring in our own special bottle, but they charge a $ 20 cork fee which is twice the average fee so we declined. We ordered a bottle and the waitress suggested another that was just $ 5 more and it was a very cell net choice. 2012 Long Valley Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon for $ 45 This won’t be a place we frequent, as I am not crazy about French cuisine but we had a very good meal and excellent service. Dinner for 5 with no appetizers and a nice wine was $ 160 plus tip

Well I finally made it here. This is yet another place that I’ve driven by a thousand times and discounted as «too expensive» or «too fou-fou». Well guess what? It’s not. Ok, yeah there are wine glasses on the table and it looks all elegant and snazzy but it really is kind of a laid back bistro. Granted we were there in the middle of the afternoon so it was like having our own private dining room. Well on to the important bits. First and foremost they offer lots of specials, Mondays and Tuesdays and 2−4−1 entrees and Wednesdays are 50% bottles of wine. They also have what appears to be a pretty nice Sunday Brunch menu, with unlimited mimosas(aka — the respectable way to drink with breakfast). Since it was 3pm we decided to take advantage of the special and dive in and have an early dinner. We started with the Pistachio Crusted Brie, which 1) was fistfight worthy and 2) not at all what I expected. Brie gets tortured on many menus, often it’s wrapped in something, covered in something or just left to limply ooze all over a plate. This was almost like a fancy cheese stick. Two wedges of brie, coated in pulverized pistachio(and maybe an egg?) and lightly fried until it was just crispy. Take two wedges lay them on a lovely salad garnished with marinated apples and balsamic and you have the makings of a really delicate dish. Perhaps this and a nice bowl of soup would make a nice little lunch. Sadly there were only two… I wanted about 50. For entrees my companion and I couldn’t have chosen two more diametrically opposed dishes. He the Crêpe Diane and I, the Cassoulet a L’armagnac . First the crêpe. This is not the tiny fruit stuffed breakfast pancakes one sees at unmentionable diners around the world. No, this is a Crêpe. A simple batter elevated to glorious heights of sophistication. At its simplest a crêpe is a very thin pancake wrapped around a filling. This filling — the Diane — is a classic steak garnish, some mushrooms, a little brandy, a splash of cream, a touch of mustard and BOOM — sex on a plate. The Crêpe Diane was executed perfectly, silky and smooth with just enough richness to be satisfying. The steak filling was very well seasoned and melt in your mouth tender. From the elegance of the crêpe, to the staple of Southern France. Looking at their menu on Unilocal I saw that they had Cassoulet, that’s what brought me in the door. It’s winter here in South Florida and a frigid 65 degrees outside. What could be more soothing and comforting than navy beans, slow cooked with bacon and duck. It’s a country dish, it’s not fancy. It shouldn’t be. It’s a hearty, stick to your ribs, go out and farm the land kind of meal. Sage’s version consists of a leg of duck, a good helping of garlic sausage and a bowl full of melt in your mouth, buttery, creamy beans. There is a soothing smokiness that never overwhelms, the duck is fall apart tender and the sausage is downright addictive. But the beans, oh the beans. I’ll be dreaming of this all night. If the food and the atmosphere were not enough the service was impeccable. Our delightful French-Canadian server, Chanda, is hands down one of the best servers we have encountered in Fort Lauderdale. Service at may places seems to be an afterthought, this was a very welcome and nice change of pace. We will most definitely return, for the food, the service and perhaps maybe even a bottle or two of wine. Bön Apetit!

This was above and beyond the best meal I’ve had in Florida. Sorry not sorry, Disney EPCOT world showcase. Just kidding, y’all. When I go to Florida, it’s with a family of discriminating foodies who only journey to a select number of finer dining establishments(and Jewish delis). Of the nicer places I’ve sampled(New York Prime Steakhouse, La Veranda, Renzo’s of Boca Raton, Uncle Tai’s, Tapa Toro, Hash Hash a Go Go, etc. etc.) this place SHONE. I’ll set the scene. Atop a grand piano, a large illuminated Eiffle Tower with a Happy Hannukah sign greeted us as we entered. Perhaps it was the holiday week timing, but for midweek, the restaurant was bumping. The ambiance was classy with soft lighting, a mirrored backdrop in the larger dining room, and a spotless bathroom. We went on a Wednesday, which fortuitously for us, had half off bottles of wine. We’d had a 6:30 reservation, and were escorted to a table when we promptly arrived. Oh, and a quick word about our server Dan: he was unfailingly polite and professional. He was basically the pinnacle of what a server in a nice restaurant should be. Attractive, too. Our food was fantastic. The escargots were succulent, garlicky, warm and tasty, and were piled two atop one another in the dish. BONUSSNAILS, GUYS. The crispy duck was advertised on the menu as the number one duck in all the state, and it lived up to its delicious hype: crispy, fatty, chewy, and with a decadent sweet sauce. The French onion soup was cheesy and toasted, and not too salty. The filet mignon with pepper sauce was probably my favorite: medium well steak seared perfectly with the creamiest peppery sauce I’ve ever enjoyed. Guys, there’s not another restaurant I would recommend more in this state. There’s parking in a strip mall bordered by luxury shops like Whole Foods, making it relatively easy to access. This would be a perfect place for a date night in southern Florida.

Excellent Mediterranean and french cuisine selection in a quaint, romantic setting. The menu consists of grilled octopus, escargot garlic francoise, an abundant selection of salads and crepes— yup shrimp/scallop, beef strips, chicken crepes; try their roasted duck and seafood or beef stew. Just all made fresh to order with great flavor. Can’t wait to come back ;)

We’ve been to the Q Bar next door a few times and have always wondered if the food is any good here, so we came by for lunch the other day. The décor inside and outside the restaurant is beautiful, we felt like we were dinning in Paris. We sat at the bar as usual but maybe that was a mistake. The restaurant was some-what busy and I guess our waitress did not paid as much attention to us as we’d like, but she was very friendly when she had the chance to service us. We looked at the lunch menu and decided to try a couple of dishes. I ordered the Shrimp Provencale. The shrimps were cooked nicely while I really enjoyed the red sauced served with the rice. However, my wife did not have much luck with her Quince Lorraine. It was soft and mushy inside and the dough was very undercooked. She sent the dish back and ordered the Classic Eggs Benedict instead. Unfortunately the eggs were over cooked but she decided not to send the dish back again because she was hunger. Certainly our dining experience was disappointing. We were looking forward to more restaurants spots on US1 in Fort Lauderdale. While the service we received was decent, we are not sure if we will come back for another meal, we may come back for their wine tasting, which occurs 1st Tuesday of the month.

Sage has beautiful curb appeal as soon as you enter the strip mall plaza of Union Planters off of Federal Hwy. The most inviting and only business that sticks out with their large clean patio and sleek contemporary look of the restaurant front! You can not help but to be drawn in! After wanting to come here for nearly two years just to sit drinking on that patio I finally seized the opportunity and couldn’t have been happier with our lunch experience! Of course having to sit outside on their lovely patio, we picked any seat we wanted. The inside I must note is very chic-intimate and alluring! There is a full bar with bar top seating and two separate dining rooms; very French bistro kind of feel! I love the exposed brick walls! Our server Chanda was everything you want each and every server you encounter to be! Extremely personable, very informational, and most of all happy to be there! As soon as she walked up to our table she was upbeat and actually acted like she knew me from somewhere. After her greeting and getting our waters she came out saying«I know who you are. The girl who writes all those reviews off of Unilocal!»… Lol Yes that is me! It is so cool when people recognize you off of Unilocal. She even went inside to tell her coworkers and since they questioned her she pulled me up on her phone to show them! Such an overwhelming feeling when someone you don’t even know makes you feel so warm with emotions! After Chanda told us all of the specials for Tuesday which also includes on Mondays and Tuesdays you get buy one get one Appetizer, Salad, or Crêpe/Sandwich for free! You can’t get a better deal than that on Lunch and/or Dinner! While deciding what to order this overly soft baguette slices with Olive Tapenade Spread appear on our table! The bread was to die for, the Olive Tapenade being a bit too salty for me but just my personal no salt likes! We ordered the Sauvignon Blanc James Briant Hills glass of wine each and it was perfect for the warm weather and went nicely with my meal! I can’t pass up a Grilled Vegetable Sandwich! The lunch portions also come with a Side Salad or French fries. After hearing Chanda explain the Salad Dressing that is made fresh everyday we both went with side salads! The Dressing was awesome! Light, refreshing, and perfect on a bed of crisp Lettuce! My friend who doesn’t even like Dressing loved it as well! My Grilled Vegetable Sandwich came out much different than expected but without a doubt was delicious! Something I would never expect but loved the freshness and flavors! The bun was top notch and the Vegetables were cooked to perfection in a Red Sauce; which normally I’m not a fan of Red Sauce but this was good! For a restaurant to survive 23 years in Fort Lauderdale you know they are doing something right! Our lunch was endlessly good and the setting couldn’t have been better. They do have fans on the patio which keep it nice and cool. As well as the Monday and Tuesday BOGO deals they have Wine Wednesday’s offering ½ price bottles of wine! **Note on the BOGO deal they do charge an automatic 18% gratuity which I feel is completely understandable! It seemed as every server including the manager came out to make sure we were still doing good after our meal since we were sitting there conversing after lunch! From the staff to location, food, and décor this place is top on my list! See you soon!

Sage is THE place to go for brunch in Ft. Lauderdale. With excellent food, creative specials and fast, friendly service, you can’t go wrong here. Let me start by saying that I have been to Sage some 15 times for Sunday brunch, and I’ve never been disappointed. If you come for brunch, you MUST have the French toast. It is made with French Bread, soaked overnight in egg batter, then deep fried like a donut. It is so good, I always order one for the table as an appetizer so no one misses this delicacy. Today we ordered(in addition to the French toast) the eggs Benedict, chicken and waffles and the Crêpe du jour. The eggs Benedict(as always) was perfect, the Chicken and Waffles were excellent(my g/f literally growled at me when I attempted to taste it), and the Crêpe Du Jour was reported by my guest as being very good. Seems like Ft. Lauderdale is picking up on this place. It was super busy today and I’m happy to see such excellent food and service rewarded with good business. An unqualified 5 Stars. Truly excellent.
