I walked into this place after looking at reviews online, but not realizing those were for the previous salon that was here. The owners are named Flo and Jessie and are extremely nice, and know exactly what they’re doing when it comes to hair.
I had used a box hair dye and it turned out to be way too dark for my skin tone and looked horrible. I went into Yellow Strawberry and explained my situation and asked if they could help. Flo immediately had a consultation with me to see what I wanted and how she’d be able to help. She went to work and after lightening, cutting, and re dying my hair to the right color, it turned out amazing! She really took her time with it and made sure I would like it.
My one and only issue was the sticker shock. When she had said that she needed to lighten it, then redye it, she said it would cost around $ 150 which I had no problem with considering that it was a lot of work to fix my color. But when she asked if I wanted it cut too, I asked how much it would cost and she said $ 50 for a trim and blow dry, etc. I’m used to paying $ 15 for a cut, and she didn’t take too much off. So that kind of shocked me, but it looks incredible.
If you want your hair done right, I highly recommend this place; just be aware that it’s high priced for high quality. They are EXTREMELY nice people and offer coffee and a nice conversation. If you need your hair fixed or anything, please do come here!

Emma is an excellent stylist who knows how to manage coarse hair. Color was fabulous. I went to her after I bought a Groupon and have been back again. Love her personality ! I would recommend using her to all my friends

It was my first time to Salon Zeva in Lauderdale and I couldn’t be happier with the service. Emma was very professional, friendly and experienced in her craft. The salon is inviting, clean, and provides a warm, comforting atmosphere. I highly recommend Emma for all your hair needs. I ventured into a cut with Emma and she took my dead hairand turned it into something truly beautiful without taking any length off! (I KNOW HARD TO BELIEVE) … I knew then and there she and I were on the same wavelength… :) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Salon Zeva definitely earns 5 stars. I’ve spent over hundred of dollars getting Brazilian treatments and keratin at other salons to keep my hair straight. Nothing lasts. Then I came across Zeva and its only $ 30 for a wash blow dry and straightening. It’s day 5 and my hair is still super straight still! No chemicals, just her amazing blow dry skills. So happy I found this place

Junie is the best she saved my hair and corrected the color and got it in great shape she’s been a lifesaver she made my hair so beautiful I got my hair destroyed again because I moved and went back to her and she fixed it again it’s amazing being on this trip being blonde I got to be blonde but sometimes if you go to someone who doesn’t know what you’re doing heaven help you I’m lucky for someone like Junie who can fix it every time great hairstylist great Haircolor Xperts I am blessed

Love love love! I purchased an Amazon Local deal for a haircut and style after looking around at the reviews available for their featured salons. Zeva by far had the best reviews and now I know why! I saw Juni, who has hair much like mine — thick, long and wavy. It’s such a nightmare to keep up with and even harder, I’m sure, to cut and style well. I have always been wary of going to the salon because I’ve had some disasters or even had stylists outright complain about my hair’s length — like my last Amazon Local purchase in Orlando, where the stylist charged me an extra $ 30 because my hair «is so thick and long.» There was none of that nonsense here! The first thing we did was snip off a good 9 inches for me to donate. Then, Juni was able to cut my hair EXACTLY how I wanted — that is honestly a first. Without doing anything super fancy or trying to sell me on some expensive product, Juni gave me a cut that looks cute with 0 extra work on my part. My hair has more volume, sits better and has the long layers I was looking for. It looks great up or down, and air dried beautifully (she offered a blow but I felt good about this cut air drying without looking funky — and I was right!) If Juni can make my hair look this good with this little aftercare she is most definitely a natural talent! I will be coming back and sending friends. Give this place a try, you won’t regret it.

I purchased an Amazon Local deal for $ 80 for cut, and either ORGANIC color or full highlights and blow-​dry style. When I called I spoke with Juni who ended up also cutting my hair. I was a little concerned because when I showed up at 10:30am the door was locked and all the lights were off. My instincts said «run» but I’m glad I didn’t because Juni was just pulling in. There was a huge rainstorm and traffic was a nightmare for me too. So I ran next door really quick to get a coffee while she was getting the color ready. (no beverages offered)
Inside was average salon with Marilyn Monroe posters & mirrors everywhere, a big purple wall, not my taste but certainly not offensive. As I had discussed on the phone with her I wanted a little different package than what I had purchased and Juni was very willing to work with me.
RESULT: My color is AMAZING and the highlights are subtle and soft (just as I requested) No zebra stripes for me! And my cut is beautiful, stylish and off of my neck! It looks great. It was funny because there was a lady waiting for us to finish and when I left she said that she wanted just what I had done because it looked so pretty. I’d call that a win! (:
My tips for the salon owner would be to hire a receptionist, offer your guests a beverage and have the space nice and cool by the time your clients arrive. And, is it just me or is weird to have only one stylist working during the middle of the day?
My tips for other patrons is to bring quarters for the meters out front or try to find a spot close to the street where they aren’t required. However at 10:30 on a wednesday, they were all full. And if you want a beverage, bring one.
All-​in-​all I give Juni 5 stars because I left feeling beautiful & she listens very well. The salon 3.5 to 4 stars as they could polish a few rough spots.

What a fabulous fantastic and beautiful all service salon… But the repolarization of your hair for the summer will leave it gorgeous shiny and virgin like!

I purchased a Groupon and I am more than impressed. I did a partial color and initally wanted just a trim. Emma suggested a different more vibrant color and also layers. I love that she explained her suggestions and what features it would enhance. She was cool to chat with and helped the time fly.
I am a huge groupon-​er and have had less than satisfactory services in the past; that was not an issue here. I am more than pleased and will definitely be back!!!

Went to Jon Headley for the first time and got one of the best hilights since moving here from Atlanta. Salon had a great vibe and everyone was so friendly. Go check it out!!!

Jon Headley was great at giving me the best hilite ever! love him! My blond was a nice cool color not that golden blond i always get. His prices are very reasonable as well. look him up

I would like to commend both Salon Zeva & David Julian for the best experience today. As soon as I walked in, felt immediately welcomed and comfortable. The salon was aesthetically pleasing, very clean and up to date with the best equipment. I’ve been to numerous ones here in South Florida including Red Door Spa. David did the BEST job cutting my hair & also got a Keratin treatment (w/​o formaldehyde)! My hair looks fabulous and had a great experience! Thank u & I will definitely return in the future!!!
