Lenore Nolan-Ryan Cooking School & Catering

This was such a fun class. I read some of the reviews and its like the bad ones were in a different class. It was a social experience for everyone to have fun. I don’t think its meant for people to eventually open up restaurants. The atmosphere was fun, and the meal that everyone participated in cooking was delicious. I hope to take another class soon

No one was required to wash their hands before cooking… and no one was wearing gloves. Then at the end everyone eats the dishes prepared by the other tables… gross. I didn’t learn anything… I could pick a recipe out of a book at home and learn on my own

If you want an organized, well instructed, and thorough cooking class don’t come here, go to Sur La Table. This was the most haphazard event I’ve attended. First, they advertise cooking/​learning multiple dishes but instead each group of four gets a different dish, meaning you only cook one. Next, they provided us a recipe but very little instruction which leaves more experienced cooks forced to teach other guests. Then they provided a recipe that called for a bamboo steamer but instead gave us a metal colander and had us wrap it in foil. While I appreciate the resourcefulness, this seems sub par for a cooking school. People were shuffling around trying to find necessary tools and the environment was stressful, especially when the staff is constantly asking what items they can clean away and obviously rush you out. Simply put, they seemed inexperienced in organizing a class. However on a good note, I was pleasantly surprised how well the meals turned out. Kudos to them for that.

Great, enjoyable, fun class. A truly great evening. Went by myself and met good friends. Student to Chef ratio was great. A lot of good instruction. The Chefs made sure we learned AND had fun. The school is well designed to have the classes. They have it nailed! Good wine and good people. The best is also the tasty food at the end. My only regret was it was over too soon!
