I hosted a training here in February, 2016. My suite was very nice and the staff were super friendly and helpful. They made sure that I had everything thing that I needed for the training. It was a 3-day training and the Metropolitan Room was the perfect size. If the room got too cold or hot, they would immediately adjust it. The participants in my training also reported that their rooms were nice. The restaurant had good food. The servers were fast and accommodating. The food was a little expensive, but that’s too be expected. The pool side bar had a wonderful happy hour! Perhaps because I live in Manhattan and I expect drinks to be expensive, but $ 3 for a heineken is great. The only issue that we had that was frustrating was that a ceiling light in the meeting room kept falling out then would hang by the electrical work. It didn’t fall and hit anyone, but it startled everyone. I had them fix it and then it fell out again. I had them fix it again, then it fell out for a third time. They were responsive in fixing it, but they just couldn’t fix it correctly. Regardless, I would stay here again and I plan on hosting the training again next year at this location.

I have to stay at this property because it is what my airline had chosen. On the surface, it’s fine; the rooms have living areas and small kitchens. But it fails miserably on other levels. For instance, I was woken from a nap this afternoon by a roach on my arm. Yes. A roach. And attempts at going back to sleep this evening have failed due to a screaming party in the pool. Allegedly, it closed a while ago, at 11. I know it’s Friday, but some of us still have to work tomorrow, before 5 am. I understand that people have different criteria, but my foremost one is being able to rest. I’ve made calls(the room phones do not work, so I’ve used my own), to no avail. Troy at the front desk promised he’d get it under control, but it hasn’t happened. Further phone calls are not answered. Anyway, if you ever wonder why flights are delayed for crew availability, this is one reason.

My first impression is the front desk does not care. We booked an upgraded room(2 bedroom suite) and were told one hour ago that housekeeping was finishing up the room. 2nd attempt to check in now we are told they need to call housekeeping to see why the room is nit ready. No apologies just walked away with her Nextel. Came back and said she is trying to get in touch. Hope the Hilton makes it right as it is my birthday and we have g u ests meeting us here for dinner at 530

This hotel could be a decent value, but you’ve got to get it at the right price. My experience has been less than stellar. You’d better be up on and know the amenities you’ve booked. I had to remind the front desk that my booking included breakfast vouchers. I had to ask the desk if I got free wi-fi(as a Hilton Honors member I do) but was then given incorrect info re how to access the service. Housekeeping was still working on our room after our first night’s stay at after 5:15 pm? We’ve been out of the room all day. That’s ridiculous given that I’m staying multiple nights. The bath products are really inexpensive and the room is also not in the cleanest condition(pretty dusty). Finally, for a two bedroom suite I’d expect more than one sofa and a chair. Come on, people. Management should know that more than 2 people book a two room suite; at least four people are using this type of accommodation– put two sofas in the living room. They don’t both have to be sofa bed pull-outs. I think it’s time to look for somewhere new when we stay in FL prior to our cruise. We are paying a pretty high rate and I expect something nicer than what is being delivered at the price we are paying.

For a quasi Hilton this has too many cons to ever stay here again. Spoiler alert! The hotel sits next to a draw bridge. Every time it goes up you can hear the equipment running; ALL of the equipment. Warning bells, announcements, and the bridge motors whining away. So you can guess what’s next… the road. So much traffic. You hear every car go by. The room looks really nice until you close the door and start looking around. Holes in the carpet and holes in the room darkening drapes they were basically perforated. Mold on the A/C registers, and for cooling the suite down it was about as worthless as a box fan on a summer day in South Florida. They have restricted water flow to a point of using a wash cloth and the sink is a better option than taking a shower. Overall the hotel was not bad but the location was awful. We will definitely x this place off our return list.
