There’s pros and cons with De. Elgut.
The pro is he’s an excellent eye doctor and a really pleasant person.
The con is ordering your glasses through his office. That’s very unreliable. I’ve been going to Dr. Elgut for over 20 years. I’d estimate about half the glasses I’ve ordered through his office have been off. One or both eyes, ground to the wrong prescription. Or, perhaps, he got it wrong? So I took a recent prescription to another eye doctor. He declared the prescription was correct, the lens for the right eye was way off.
So go for your eyes. Don’t order glasses through him.

Had a first visit today with Dr Stephanie Frankel in this practice and I have to say it was as good as it gets. I was a little surprised because I intended to make an appointment with an ophthalmologist in that practice and mistakenly thought she was one until I saw her card on the way out. Never mind that. She diagnosed my problem (it wasn’t an infection) and was as thorough and helpful and patient as she could be. She’s personable and took time to explain every detail along the way as she went through my exam, explained what she’d found and I could not have been happier on the way out. The wait time in the waiting room was a little longer than I usually have patience with (and I had an 8AM appointment) but she’s well worth being patient for. I’ve never written a review on a doctor before but this was such an overwhelmingly positive experience (in a really nice clean, comfortable new office I might add) that I had to write this up.

Dr Frankel is terrific. However the office needs to care more about how they treat their patients. Long waits (over an hour) and rude staff. I am also waiting 3, weeks for lenses that were supposed to take 3 days. No follow up on their part. I will only go back because of Dr Frankel. I hope they fix their «customer service».
