I too wish there was an option for zero stars. There was horrible service at this restaurant. I came with a group to eat at around 9:30PM. We were a large group and had called ahead well over two hours before we showed up. Supposedly they had brought in an extra cook to help make our food. I sat for about an hour and a half before my pancakes came. I had ordered all you can eat pancakes and I was given three very small pancakes. All of my friends at other tables around us were done eating already. The waiter even asked my friends if they wanted more pancakes when my table had not even received any food. Terrible service overall. I will never go to this Perkins again and will warn everyone I know to never go to this Perkins. I may never go to any Perkins ever again because of how I was treated. This is by far the worst service from a restaurant I have ever recieved in my life.

What can you say, this is Perkins. Nothing fancy, but it’s a decent, clean place with a good selection of foods especially the breakfast menu. It’s a good place to meet up with someone and have coffee and bakery or a bite to eat and carry on a conversation. The quality of the food is not as good as Village Inn nearby in Wyoming.

I wish there was a zero star option. If you are looking for horrible service and cold food, this is the place for you.

Can I give this place 0 stars? Felt weird after waiting an hour, our waitress no where to be found and finally asked the host for our food. Don’t know where the hell the rest of the staff was: I get it it’s late at night, but it’s a job and you need to do your job. Waited an additional 15min as told by the host… Food was either burnt or cold. The sandwich I ordered had a nice sandpapery toast, the kind you want to scrape along the roof of your mouth. Everything was just so incredibly mediocre. The cherry on top was my pie… The fricken pies are already made, most likely presliced. How the FCK do you break the crust off the pie? So much rage. Just drive home and eat, avoid this Perkins.

Wow was our experience bad. Long wait at the door for a late breakfast on a weekday, server took at least 5 minutes to get to us(oh, only about 5 tables in the whole place), greet was«want something to drink?» Food was terrible, service was terrible, and when we paid at the counter, the manager asked how everything was… I said it was a bad experience. She said, sorry, can I give you some free cookies? Cookies? Make up for it with free cookies? I paid over 30 bucks for the worst meal of my life and you think I want free cookies? I will never eat in this, or any Perkins again.

Stopped at this Perkins because my husband was hungry for pancakes. Bad idea. We waited to long in a not to filled restaurant. When finally seated we were greeted by a super cute waitress. She took our order then the wait began. We waited for over ½ hour for our food. My salad tasted so bad I only had one bite. The chicken and mashed potatoes were old and not hot. However my husbands pancakes were great! The sausages were cold. Upon arrival at home I began to vomit. 24 hours later, exhausted and starting to feel a bit better, I have decided that had I not eaten at this Perkins I coukd have saved myself from 24 hours of misery. Can you spell food poisoning.

The hostess was exceptionally friendly, so much that it started to seem forced. Our waiter was also friendly, but inexperienced. I ended up pretty chilly when a glass of ice water go spilled on the table and ran into my lap. He also took at minimum five minutes to bring a side of mayo. Would have been understandable except we were one of four tables in the entire restaurant, and only one of two that were his. The food was edible and my order was correct. Fries were cooked perfect, burger was dry, hence the need for a side of mayo. My daughter’s broccoli was not good, I just can’t seem to explain it. Very few options that are wheat free, especially on kids menu.

Ok, so I hate to give this rating, as Perkins is usually one of my favorite go to places for breakfast. I especially hate to give my local one such a low rating, but after my experience on Sunday, I’m not sure I will be back. My daughter and I stopped in during the early afternoon for brunch. The restaurant was not very busy. We were seated by the silverware rolling station which was annoying and the roller was standing there our entire meal hovering while rolling silverware. Our server was in training and did a nice job, as did her trainer. We observed another employee who was busing and cleaning some tables mumbling and swearing under her breath while she worked. We were a little surprised at her language and she was obviously upset about something. We both ordered an omelette. The shock came when I cut into mine, it was under cooked, very runny and had a long black hair cooked into the middle of it. I was grossed out. I notified the server who took it away and ordered another one for me. While I was waiting for another one she came back to the table to confirm that it was indeed gross and they would fix it. I was never offered a discount on the meal or even an apology. I did get a new omelette, which was fine. I realize these things can happen, but how the whole experience was from start to finish did not create a desire in me to return. Sorry Forest Lake Perkins. I will be heading to the local competition for my next meal.

Not living in Minnesota anymore limits my Perkins visits and sadly when I was in town last time I forgot that I should never to go the Perkins in Forest Lake, for any reason, ever. The service is unfathomably terrible and for some reason the prices are higher than every other Perkins north of the Twin Cities.

Perkins is well known by everyone and probably every city has their own local Perkins. While I don’t think they’re going to win any awards, the service is good, it’s a place that you feel comfortable and there’s a good choice of foods.
