A random choice to go eat for lunch but pleasantly surprised. The food takes a while to get to you because it is being specifically made for you. The wait is worth it. Definitely recommend you have an app, entrée and desert as everything is great!

Fabulous and friendly. If this is traditional Lebanese, I’m ready to move in! Delightful family fest, with mama Wafa and her son, Youssef. So warm and genuine. Begin with the fried cauliflower, fattoush, baba ganuj, majudara and hummus. Follow with shawarma — chicken or lamb. Kanafeh and baklava are musts!

This is probably the 237th time eating here and Wafa’s has never once dropped the ball on anything! Great food, amazing & friendly service, and a second mention about the great food! Everything the kitchen kicks out is amazing. I can’t get enough!

Absolutely delicious. Wafa’s is a little off the beaten path as it is not close to any trains, but it is definitely worth the visit. Everything was delicious and flavorful. The woman serving us was very warm and friendly. I can’t wait to go back and try everything else on their menu. The interior is pretty simple and basic, nothing fancy. If you’re the type of person to follow your tastebuds when it comes to food, this is definitely somewhere you want to be.

LOVE Wafas! it is delicious and tastes more like a home cooked meal than eating out. I love that everyone is so attentive and that it is a family business. I usually get the chicken, but this weekend I tried the tilapia special and it was really tasty.

I have since ordered delivery a number of times from Wafa’s, and found the food to be excellent, and the delivery sent to me in a timely manner. I highly recommend Wafa’s now, but don’t order the spinach pies. The kufta kebobs are great, as is the mujadra and grape leaves.

Everything is delicious! I mean everything. I tend to stick with chicken and have tried both platters and the pita. The hummus and baba ganoush are both delicious. The hot sauce they offer is great and packs heat, which I like and of course you cannot go wrong with taziki sauce! My only gripe is they have a high minimum for delivery fee. Maybe this is good though, I’d probably order my lunch daily if I wasn’t required to spend so much to get it brought to my door!

Oh my goodness. Where do I even begin with my new favorite place for dinner?! Wafa’s remind me of my grandmother and mothers cooking, so it is just perfect for me. My hubby and cousin ordered the meat pie app(think Lahmajun if you’re Armenian and know what I mean). They both liked it even though it wasn’t the typical meat pie that we are used to. I ordered the vegetarian and chose the falafel, babaganoush, and the rice with lentils. Everything was so good. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their food. My hubby and cousin ordered dishes with meat and two sides and both left little to no food on their plates. For dessert my hubby ordered baklava while I ordered the kanafeh. The baklava serving was huge!!! My dessert was good but this time it didn’t compare to my mothers. Sorry! The server(who I think was the owners son) was very pleasant and attentive. I already want to go back for more.

Best Lebanese food I’ve ever had. Hands down. Hands down. I need six stars for this place. I got everything, way more than one meals worth, and took home a giant plate. Seriously amazing. And I learned a valuable lesson from the server, never take a bite of kofte without dipping it in hummus first.

We were visiting Forest Hills from Brooklyn. We didn’t know what to expect, but the sign said Lebanese cusine. We might have been happy with a kebab or humus or baba. But we never expected to get such fresh and tasty dishes… real home style cooking. I had kibbe with Bulger and tabouli. It was the best I’ve ever eaten. And I’ve been eating middle eastern cuisine for 45 yrs. It was so fresh and superbly spiced, that I ate it like with a smile on my face.

Pretty solid food. My BF and I came here for dinner on a Sunday night. I had the chicken shawarma(spicy) and my boyfriend had the shish kebab platter. The platter comes with your choice of two side dishes. He chose mujardarah and hummus. Their hummus is on point. It tasted so fresh with the pita bread. I’m salivating just thinking about it. My sandwich was amazing as well. I’m not a fan of lamb so I didn’t try his dish but the mujardarah is like a lentil with whole grains. That was amazing as well. We didn’t think we would be full from the food but it is very filling. We couldn’t even have dessert! I would def come back again!

The Service At Wafa’s is excellent. Very attentive and honestly interested in your enjoyment of the food. The Food is No Thrills Lebanese Food, packed with flavor. The space is a good area to chill out and talk, there’s no club music or noisy diners to interrupt you. We had the Baba Ganoush«Because I love saying Baba Ganoush» even though I have not had it before. It came in a nice paste hummus texture with Pita bread. It was a nice healthy starter and fun to eat. We ordered the Makdous which is an eggplant stuffed with red peppers and cured in Olive Oil. This was a bit of a learning experience, it tasted like an Olive the size of of a lime. It’s good if you eat a few bites but do order for a larger table so everyone can try a little. It can be a little salty for the those not used to it(me). We tried the Kefta Kebab Platter with rice and lentil. Great dish, the lamb is nice and spiced with the yogurt sauce, the spicy onion sauce is killer spicy so don’t dip fully into it. The lentils and rice can be very filling we were able to share between 3 people and it was enough with 2 other appetizers. I really enjoyed dining at Wafa’s and I’m definitely going to come back.

This is for catering only. But, after only one taste, I had to tell all of my Forest Hills friends to go there STAT!!! I’d even consider the schlep to get more of this awesomeness!!! We sampled Chicken Shawerma, Kefta Kebab, baba ganoush, hummus, falafel, stuffed grape leaves, pita bread, and spinach pie, alone with their tahini and hot sauce. ALLDIVINE!!! Even after we were stuffed, everyone kept going back for more small bites, saying that they were so full, but just couldn’t stop eating. My colleague said it best, «…I just wanna take the baba ganoush to the bathroom, and eat it all, while crying.» Yup. ’bout sums it up! Only reason I’m not YET giving 5 stars is because I haven’t eaten in to experience the joint and customer service. But they’re on the list to do just that!

The ethereally smoky Baba Ghannouj is still haunting me, even if the falafel and Mujadara weren’t as next-level. Vegetarian Platter $ 12.95+tax Choice of rice and lentils, house salad, mujadarah, or tomato bulgar and two of the side: tabouleh, moussaka, okra, hummus, baba ganoush, French fries, cauliflower, falafel. Vegetarian Platter 1 + 12.95 Delete Choice of Item: Mujadara Choice of Side 1: Baba Ganoush Choice of Side 2: Falafel FYI Eat24 hours are different than those here despite Unilocal owning them now, and closed Tuesdays

Delicious. Everything was delicious. The mujhadara and moussuka were the best I have had. The spice level was perfect. I loved the lamb shawarma. Even the chicken tawook which I normally find boring at most restaurants was very flavorful. The baklava was delicious also, perfect pistachio to filo dough ratio.

If this place had better décor, I would give it five stars! Food is delicious and tastes really authentic. I recommend the vegetarian platter that you can customize to your liking. My husband really liked his chicken shawarma platter, too. Their cheese and phyllo dough desert was scrumptious. We will be back soon!

Good food, good ppl! What else can complete a fine dinning or just a quick lunch? it s just a simple rule to be happy with your food! Had a doc appointment near by, Unilocaled some turkish food but this Lebaneese place popped up with a high enough rate for me to walk in. Not so impressed with the décor and ambiance. But food changed the whole picture and friendly waiter and the lady who was making sure everything was fine, i think she is the owner, helped me to enjoy more. Kibbi and this dellecious pickled stuffed eggplant was my order. I enjoyed them a lot. It really made feel like i am dipping my lavash(bread) into creamy hummus and minted salad in Beirut… good foood, highly recommended. Reason not givin 5 is becaise of the wall color and rest of the décor. Sorry for all the typo mistakes.

I had food from Wafa’s a few times and each time the food was way too salty. I had extreme dry mouth before I even finished the meal. Everyone else on my table was complaining about dry mouth. Why is the food so salty? I would have enjoyed it much more if the food was not overly seasoned. Until they fix this problem, I can’t come back.

Expertly spiced and super flavorful food. I really appreciate how homemade everything is in here. With that being said, it’s sort of pricey based on quantity. But quality is definitely there! I just wish they offered a lunch special on their platters because those are the only things that fill you up. If you’re really hungry, I definitely recommend getting a variety of things. I like in the interior. It feels like you’re in someone’s house getting a home cooked meal. The staff are polite and willing to offer recommendations on the menu. It’s a nice place in all aspects. It’s an appropriate place to bring a special someone(in terms of food, ambiance and price). It’s not one of those places that play music obnoxiously loud or has the seating all cramped together. Also the servers are not overly eager and bother you every moment. Definitely give Wafa’s a try!

Came here last night for dinner and the food was exceptional! Started off with hummus on the other hand was very smooth and creamy. I ordered the Kefte platter. The lamb flavor really came out in the mixed ground beef and lamb mixture which made it so good. The tabbouleh was average, but I’m not a huge fan of parsley. I also tried the shish kebab(grilled lamb) and I almost wish I got that. The tomato bulgar was delicious as well, with a rich tomato flavor that was very nicely seasoned. The service was great too. It took us a while to get water when we first sat down, but they were very attentive otherwise. The owner came around and took orders, served food, and was very nice in thanking us for our patience. The food is great here and the sizes of the dishes are huge. Not sure if a platter would be enough for two to share, but it is definitely more than one could eat. Great value and delicious food. Highly recommend!

4.5 stars Tip: BYOB Appetizer: Vegetable platter(supposed to be an entrée but we were really hungry). The hummus is amazing!!! It has been a while since I have had good hummus(only other good place is mamouns). The baba ghanoush and mujadara were excellent as well. For our main dishes: 1) Falafel sandwich 2) Chicken shwarma — overall the sandwiches were good. The falafel was just okay but all the other ingredients made up for it. Will be my go to spot for hummus!

I have been waiting to try Wafa’s for years! I’m so glad I did it on Valentine’s Day. We knew this was a gem from reading Unilocal reviews so we came early and are so glad we did because the place filled up FAST. Cute atmosphere and the wait staff is very nice. Good amount of tables available for small groups. We ordered our food and noticed that it took a while for it to come out because it was being made fresh on the spot. I noticed they had a lot of returning customers and friendly banter with the staff — good sign of a good place. Parking is decent, just circle around the residential areas to find a spot. Kibbe sandwich — I almost forgot to share this with my husband as I kept munching away on the pita! The meat is ground beef and lamb mixed with onions and nuts. This was delicious and tender. I loved how thin the pita was. Combo platter — Shish tawook(grilled chicken) and Lamb Shawerma with baba ganoush and rice with lentils. This platter was amazing. At first glance, the chicken looked dry, overcooked and tasteless. Boy, was I surprised when I took a bite! It was moist and a great flavor. You could see the amount of seasoning to marinate that chicken. The lamb was perfect — moist, chewy without being tough and so much flavor! Baba ganoush was delicious — I kept slathering that on the pita bread and stuffing my face. The pita came piping hot, fresh out of the grill — YUM! The rice with lentils had a perfect touch as my husband said he’s never had lentils as good as Wafa’s. By the end of the night, there wasn’t a sliver of food left on that plate. Kanafeh — although we were really stuffed, we had to try the dessert which was recommended by the owner’s son. Super nice guy! He said this was the customer favorite and I can see why! At first, hearing that a sweet cheese covered with phyllo dough may not sound the most appetizing but it grows on you. There’s a fine texture and crunch to it, along with a sweetness that isn’t overwhelming but just right. After devouring it, we didn’t feel guilty at all for dessert! I can’t wait to come back and try other items on the menu. Great place on Metropolitan — I can see why it was Michelin rated!
