I come here at least once a week to get fresh meat. I love the fact that they have good meat and that they will cut it up or ground it anyway you like without any extra cost. They are helpful and the butcher remembers you if you come there more then once. The only thing I don’t like is when I send my husband there, he is not very particular about the meat and sometimes I feel like they don’t give him the same cut or cut it too thin for a steak. Otherwise this place is definitely my go to. They are well priced for Glatt Kosher meat and open late. Tip: Their meat is pre-salted due to it being Glatt Kosher so don’t salt anymore. But if you’re looking for clean and kosher meat in the Forest Hills, Rego Park area this is your spot.

We have been coming to this place for a couple of months now, usually spontaneously when I crave a steak. We keep a Glatt Kosher home so before Tikvah we bought our meat at Aron’s Kissena Farms, but then my sister and brother-in-law raved about this place and how good and fresh the meat was so we decided to try it. The first time I bought meat from this butcher we loved it. It was so fresh and tasted superb(Glatt kosher meat is already pre-salted, so if you come here don’t salt your meat while cooking). I keep coming back at least once every couple of weeks and stock up on meat. The only thing that’s a little irritating is that when I asked the name of the specific kind of meat I was buying, because our guests were asking so they can come and purchase the same, the owner didn’t want to say and told me to tell them to come from me and he would give it to them. Quite odd. Another minus, which is why I really deducted a star was the last time I bought lamb chops from here there was way too much fat. I’m a lean meat kinda of guy. But I’m glad we have a place like this in the hood and Tikvah actually mean Pumpkin in Russian. So I’ll def. be coming back to the pumpkin for more meat.
